The Void Between Universes

Knowing that he was stronger than me and that he already has Emily I didn't want to argue with him so all what I did was look at him calmly and say:

"Where is Emily?"

"Come on boy I didn't see you for a whole day and you know, what thinking that this was going to be our last meeting I was really emotional but here you are not caring at all, my little heart can't take it anymore" he said.

"Just stop it would you? Just tell me where is Emily I'm already here and I will accept all your conditions so just let her go" I shouted at him.

"Really you are really going to accept my conditions does that mean that this won't be our last meeting" but the thing didn't care at all and just kept on acting in an idiotic way as if mocking me.

"Come on please just where is Emily?" finally I pleaded him to tell me where Emily was.

"...Ok right now your girl is a part of our little game so the only way to release her and for both of you to return to your normal boring life is for you to win that's all" he finally said with a serious voice.

"W...what do you mean with is already a part of our game" I asked while panicking.

"Simply she's in a contract with me...that little girl is such a caring person you see as soon as she saw me and I said that you needed her help to end our contract she offered being in a contract with in order to save you truly a good girl"

Hearing what he said almost drove me mad as I guessed what the thing might have said to get Emily in a contract with him.

Imagining a girl

waking up in a red room to see a mass of black fog saying that I had been in a contract with it and making it sound horrible, I could totally imagen Emily asking him to take her instead of me or something like that.

As I heard that I felt angry and hate fill every part of my heart I wanted nothing more than to kill the thing, but knowing that I won't be able to do it I was able to stop myself from doing anything that I would regret, but I still wasn't able to stop myself from asking him while grinding my teeth:

"You tricked her"

"What do you mean tricked her all what I did was tell her that you were in a contract with me and that you already died three times and just like that she asked me to let you go, of course I couldn't do that as I knew that you still wanted to go in your little adventures, so I said that that wasn't possible as but she insisted so the only thing that I could do was ask her to join our little game and she did that's all I never lied to her" he said innocently.

"What should I do in order for you to let her go" I asked after I calmed down and thought about it for a while.

"I said it already you only need to win the game" the thing said.

"What's this game that you have been talking about?"

"Well we will talk about that later let's first do our contract, just do you part I already did mine" the thing said.

"Ok" as I did the contract, just like the first time a golden light entered my body but that time I felt something weird till now I don't know what it is but

I get a different feeling from the first time.

Throwing that to the back of my mind I looked at the thing and said:

"Then what's the game?"

"I saw that that girl is you girlfriend right" instead of answering me he asked another question.

"Emily her name is Emily...and yes she's my girlfriend" I hated it how he kept on calling her that girl and what not.

"Hmm Emily?...it's a good name, anyway that girl is your girlfriend right, so what all what I want you to do is to make her fall in love with you, I mean you already did it once so it won't be that hard" he said.

Hearing him still calling her that girl I get angry but I still calmed down and listened to what he said.

"Is that all" having a feeling that that wasn't going to be all what that thing wanted from me I asked.

"No there are going to be some hardsh.i.p.s I mean what relationship doesn't have those" the thing said with a weird laugh.

"What are those hardsh.i.p.s" I asked.

"First of all she won't be able to remember you and every time you fail I'll add a hindrance in your next world"

"Can't you just tell me everything what are those hindrances?"

"Come on, you can forget about the hindrance as long as you can make her fall for you in this first world that we are going to"

"Is there a chance of me losing the game and what will happen then" I asked him one of the most important questions that I was able to think about.

"Of course there is, have you ever heard of a game where there's no chance of losing, let me tell you if there really is a game like this it will be just boring" he said and then added:

"You will lose if you won't be able to make her fall for you after going through all the worlds in all the twelve universes"

"what will happen if I lose" I asked.

He stayed silent for a while, but then with a cold voice that made me feel fear from the bottom of my heart and a soul crushing pressure he said:

"If you lose then a horrible ending will be waiting for you, your lover, and your universe"

As I heard that and felt the pressure I finally get a glimpse of what I was truly going through the thing wasn't something kind hearted he was someone that only cared about what he wanted, and the worst thing in all of that was that the thing had the ability to do whatever he said.

I tried my best to calm myself down by trying to find another thing to ask him about, and then I remembered something that I always wanted to ask him about:

"Yo…you know I never heard anyone talk about our universe in any of the worlds that I've been to till now why is that?" even though I tried my best to sound normal my voice trembling a little and the awkward change of subject gave everything about me being afraid of him.

"Well of course your world is in a forgotten corner with no spiritual power there's no one that would care about it" he said disdainfully.

"ok enough chit chat let's start the game" it seemed as if he lost interest in me as he said that.

"wait, wait what about Maya" remembering about Maya that remembered everything that happened and didn't fall for whatever the thing did I asked him.

"huh? Oh you mean that blondie she was a surprise even for me to think that a wild land with no spiritual power can still give birth to…" it seemed as if he was talking to himself but then he soon returned to his senses and remembered that I was still there, he looked at me and added with a weird laugh:

"Believe me it wasn't me who let her remember everything she was simply a surprise a pleasant surprise actually hhh"

"Do you mean that it wasn't you who made her remember what really happened" I asked him surprised as I thought that the thing choose her.

"No of course not, anyway enough of that let the game begin" he said and then waved his hand and sent a black mass of fog toward me.

Change of P.O.V Emily:

As I opened my eyes I found myself on a wooden bed I looked around me and I saw that I was inside something that looked like cabin in the woods.

From the window I was able to see a huge mountain range; even the shortest mountain in it was taller than Mount Everest, while the tallest one was at least five to six times bigger.

As I was looking at the mountain range the door cracked open and a voice come from its direction:

"I see that you are finally awake"
