The Void Between Universes

When the long haired man landed to the ground he ate a green pill, and just as he did that his wounded hand started healing in a fast speed.

Just a few second later his hand was as good as new.

And he held his spear and started looking at the swords floating in the air.

As he was looking at them I summoned three swords behind him and attacked.

But just as those swords were about to hit him he turned around and swept his spear hitting my swords and reflecting them.

"Battle instinct" I murmured.

Battle instincts are a feeling that cultivators get after being through many fights and life or death situations, it's an instinct that tell them when there's a danger threatening their life.

The long haired man just stood there while avoiding and reflecting the swords.

It wasn't the first time I fought with someone with strong battle instincts, it happened to me once before but that time the other person was in the same cultivation level as me so his battle instincts didn't help him much, the speed of the swords wasn't something that someone in the same cultivation level as me can avoid, even someone with powers a few levels higher than me can't avoid them, but the long haired man wasn't like that because he was in a higher level than me and not by just a little.

Suddenly I had an idea but the chance of it working was small and I could use it only for one time, if the long haired man survived from it I know that I'll waste a lot of my swords trying to kill him which was something I didn't like by the way.

I made all the swords that I had summoned revolve around the long haired man with an insane speed, after that I controlled four swords to attack him from four different directions.

The long haired man was as if he could predict the future he avoided three swords and moved to the direction of the fourth one the only one that he would have been able to deflect and he held his spear and hit the sword but as he was hitting that sword I controlled the other ones to move faster but not toward him but to places he might want to dodge to.

And just as I did that the sword was less than a centimeter away from the spear, I summoned a sword just behind the first one, the long haired man deflected the first sword but when he saw the second it was already too late, as the sword hit him straight to the heart taking advantage of that moment I directed all the swords to hit him cutting him to many pieces.

"you ended him now let's move, get closer to the array I'll see if I can make or find any place to enter from" as I killed the long haired man the thing said to me.

I moved stealthily to the defense array I felt that my presence was fainter than usual and then I found that the dragon set was the reason of that it was concealing my presence as I walked.

"Hey why is the dragon set concealing my presence and why didn't it do this before" after noticing that I asked the thing.

"Actually it was always there it's just that you never knew how to activate it but seeing that we are in a dangerous situation and how I'm the one asking for your help I thought that I might as well show you this option of the dragon set" he said with a light hearted voice.

"Are there any other options if the dragon set that you didn't tell me about" I asked.

"...yeah but you won't be able to use them for now maybe in the second world or the third you will and not just the dragon set will have some changes even fallen stars technique will have some changes" he said while laughing proudly.

"What changes will there be"

"You will know, now focus almost three hundred meters from here there's a tree in one of its branch there's a leaf that's inside the briar move there and put both of your hands on the tree"

I started moving in the way that he pointed and I saw the tree after a while a tree that was standing toll there and after paying great attention I saw a leaf in the other side of the barrier.

"Hurry up we don't have much time you need to enter and take the universal heart before Vele returns" as I was looking at that leaf the thing said.

I put both my hands on the tree and waited.

After waiting like that for a while and nothing happened I shouted at the thing in my head:

"What the hell you were the one that asked form me to hurry and now you are letting me stand like this hurry up"

"just wait a little more and..." as he was saying that in the place where the leaf was touching the briar a gap appeared as if some force was opening it slowly.

"As soon as the gap become big enough you should enter I can't interfere more then I'm doing right now" he added.

Soon the gap become big enough for me to go through it I stepped forward and entered.

The place where I entered from was in the back, and almost all of the Athertons were watching the battle between the two families and no one was there so I wasn't found out.

"Now we are in, go hide in some dark corner, it will take me a while to find where they are keeping the universal heart"

"Ok just hurry up"

I moved and hid but it wasn't as the thing said as it took more than five hours, of course I wasn't just sitting there like a good boy the number of times I asked the thing about if he was done was even more than the times donkey asked Shrek about if they were there in Shrek two.

"Ok I'm done just shut it would you" the thing yelled in my mind, it was the first time I heard him use that kind of tone I felt kind of proud but I didn't let that show as I said to him:

"Where is it and how many people are people protecting it"

"There's none" the thing said that.

"Do you mean that they aren't protecting their treasury how's that possible" that didn't like something a great family would do.

"It's not in the treasury" the thing said.

"What do you mean with that?"

"It's as I said the universal heart isn't in the treasury it's under the main hall, they don't now that it's there it made a natural concealing array, so they weren't able to find it I think that only an immortality ascending cultivator can feel the concealing array and that's only if he search specifically for it" the thing said.

"...but it being under the hall isn't really a good thing how can we enter it" I asked him, at least if it was in the treasury we would have been able to go there without anyone noticing us even if the treasury is protected but it being under the main hall and concealed was the worst thing possible, the main hall is one of the most protected and visited places in any clan family or sect, and there being a concealing array wasn't helping at all it meant that when the concealing array get destroyed a huge wave of spiritual power would be released which would lead to every cultivator feeling it which would put us in a big trouble no actually put ME in great trouble that thing won't care as long as he get the universal heart.

"So what are we going to do"

"Of course you will enter underground from here and after that will start digging toward the main hall after that I will destroy the concealing array because no matter what if we destroyed it or not the three immortality ascending cultivators will come for it so instead of wasting time trying to hide it we will simply destroy everything and take the universal heart and after that we will run for it" the thing said with a weird laugh.

"hell you are only saying that because you won't be the one chased by three immortality ascending cultivators you stinky mass of fog" I shouted in my mind.

"That's the best and fastest way so just start digging"

I didn't want to keep on arguing with him so I started digging, I chose the place where I dag carefully fearing that I might get discovered.

Choosing a far corner in hidden under a mass of woods I started digging.

The thing told me which direction to choose and keeping away from the detection of the other cultivator, after that it didn't take me long before I was under the main hall but the universal heart was still hundreds of km underground so I started going downward.

An hour or so later I felt the earth around me getting richer with spiritual power more and more it was then that the thing said:

"We are close the universal heart is in a hollow space ahead of us we will enter the space soon"

And just as the thing said after a while I entered a hollow space and the earth the place had floating lights that seemed like stars and galaxies, the place was so beautiful that it made me speechless I just stood there looking at all that with an open mouth.

"That's it right there in the centre of all the light's" the thing said.

It was then that I noticed that all the lights were revolving around a dark mass it was ball of metal with a dimeter of half a meter and had many engraving and runes on it, other than that it looked like a simple metallic ball.

In my time in green star I saw many heavenly metals and all of them had a great aura around them but this metallic ball didn't have any aura around it was simply a round metallic ball.

"Is that the universal heart" I asked the thing uncertainty.

"Of course it is, this is one of the reasons why not many people are able to see it's true value if it's not in its birth place" he said disdainfully.

"So what am I just going to go there and take it" I asked him after looking at the universal heart and the lights around it for a while.

"Of course not the universal heart is still one of the rarest and most wanted for heavenly treasure even though it look like this, if you just go there and try taking it all those light will turn you to dust, not just you even an immortality ascending cultivator will turn to dust if he tries taking it"

"So how are you going to deal with it" I know that the thing must have a way to deal with it because I didn't get arrogant and belittle the thing after becoming a cultivator in green star, as after I know that green star is a true world I truly know what type of power someone will need in order to change something that already happened like what happened in earth after the thing changed the event in the light novel that I read.

That kind of power is simply nonexistent if we go by cultivation levels I think that only people that entered godhood can do that, but it's said that in the history of cultivations only three people or so achieved that level.

"I'll deal with that you only need to move and touch it after it fall down" the thing said.

Saying that the thing turned silent for more than twenty hours but then I saw that all the lights that were revolving around the universal heart started heading toward it in a circular way and slowly started entering it, the universal heart shape didn't change at all but it started releasing a heavenly aura, after another hour all the lights get consumed by the ball but as soon as the last light disappeared the heavenly aura released by the universal heart disappeared and it returned to being a normal metallic ball as it fall to the ground.

When it fall it made a loud sound and the ground under my feet shock, which showed just how heavy that bell was.

"Now you should start preparing for your escape because as soon as you touch the universal heart the concealing array will be destroyed and the three immortality ascending cultivators will be here in no time, you will have half a minute at most" the thing said.

"I'm ready" I said and started moving toward the universal heart.

When I was one hundred meter away from the universal heart I started having a weird feeling each time I took a step closer toward it, it wasn't the feeling of a heavenly aura from a treasure or anything like that it was a feeling that made me feel insignificant and little I don't know how to explain it except that as it was the first time I felt something like that and with that feeling come a huge pressure that kept getting stronger with each step.

When I stood in front of the universal heart that feeling was so intense and the pressure become unbearable to the point that I couldn't even stop myself from shaking and sweating all over.

"Just touch it, hold your hand and put it on it it's that simple it's just there what are you stopping for" the thing's voice sounded in my head he was shouting I think that he felt that I was going to give up.

I was really thinking about giving up as that pressure was unbelievable and that mysterious feeling was getting bigger, but I returned to my senses as I heard the thing's voice.

I moved my hand toward the universal heart which was less than half a meter from me but my hand didn't move that fast it started moving one millimeter after the other slowly and painfully.

When my hand was just a millimeter away from it the thing's voice sounded in my mind:

"Get yourself together it's not going to be easy after you touch the heart there is going to be a big backache which my even lead to you fainting"

Hearing his words I tried my best to calm my mind and collected my thoughts, that was hard taking in account the huge pressure and that weird feeling, I finally calmed down and moved my hand toward the universal heart.

As soon as my hand touched the universal heart all the pressure that I was feeling disappeared and my eyes turned blurry.

When my eyes returned to normal again I saw that I was in the outer space I saw stars and galaxies with and that weird feeling that made me feel insignificant became stronger as I saw those I felt that I was just a speak of dust in the wind.

But that beautiful scenery in front of me disappeared and the pressure that disappeared returned again and it was even stronger than before, it felt like that universe was putting all its pressure on me, as the thing had already told me about the pressure I was ready for it and I didn't let my guards down even when I saw that hallucination about that universe.

So as soon as I felt that pressure I tried my best to handle it and put all my power going against it but...

I actually died.

The pressure was so big that I don't think anyone could handle it, at that second in my heart I knew that that thing was lying to me in order to get the universal heart he knew that I wasn't going to stay alive and that death was the only thing that awaited me if I touch the universal heart, but he still chose to make me touch it.

I opened my eyes again and I saw that I was in that red room the thing was standing there looking at me when n he saw me look at him he laughed and said:

"You are such a disappointment, in your first world you died haunted like an animal and now you died because of some pressure, truly a disappointment"

"You knew that I was going to die right" I said with while gritting my teeth.

"Hey stop accusing me boy, that's not a good habit you know" the thing said with an angry voice.

"You knew that I was going to die so just stop acting like this that pressure wasn't something that anyone can deal with, whoever touched that damn ball would have died and you know that" I shouted at him.

I felt bad I know that the thing betrayed me in order to get what he wanted and he didn't care about what would have happened to me.

"I did tell that the worst thing that could happen to you is dying and your adventure in that world ending but you still kept on going toward your death"

"You said that I may die because of the three immortality ascending cultivators not because of the universal heart itself both of us know that no one will be able to handle that pressure so you simply sent me to my death"

"Well I won't lie to you, yes every time the universal heart appears the first person that touches it dies" he said while shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly.

Seeing his behavior and hearing what he said I didn't calm down but become more enraged.

"So why did you sent me to my death" I shouted.

"Because the universal heart is more important than your life or your little adventure" he said with the same nonchalant voice and then he added:

"Now calm down I'll be sending you home" saying that he waved his hand throwing a mass of black fog.

"Wait I'm still talki..." I wanted to protest but I couldn't because as that mass of fog hit me I fall down, the next time I opened my eyes I was in my room and my alarm was ringing.

Third person P.O.V:

As soon as the Alex touched the universal heart every person in green star felt a weird feeling as if they were a speck of dust in the wind even the three immortality ascending cultivators that didn't put anything in their eyes and treated all the living creatures as insects felt that, that phenomenon didn't last long but everyone felt it.

Then Alex fall down in the ground died a few second later his body disappeared along with the universal heart.

Just as they disappeared three figures appeared in the hollow space, two of them were old men one was wearing a red drees and had a violent dangers yet noble aura around him.

The second one was wearing a green robe embroidered on it was a tree.

While the last one was an old woman with white long hair and a golden robe with seven stars on the c.h.e.s.t area.

"So you also felt it" the old man wearing the red robe said, he was the immortality ascending cultivator of the dragon bone sect his name was Ronald.

"How can someone not feel it" the man wearing the green robe hmphed, he was the immortality ascending cultivator from the universal tree his name was Gareth.

"More importantly what is this treasure and who took it" the only woman said, she was the cultivator of the seven stars alliance her name was Ruby.

"let me see" Ronald said, and then he started doing hand seals.

As he started doing that an illusionary figure appeared it was fallen down in the ground and a metallic ball was next to it and then it seemed as if time started reversing as that illusory figure get up and the bell next to it floated and started hovering the speed in which that projection was moving was fast but taking in account the cultivation of those three people they were able to see all what happened in details.

The three people stared at it they stayed like that watching what was happening calmly till the point when a little light appeared from the metallic bell as that light appeared all the three people body's shock because they finally knew what the treasure was and what that weird feeling that they felt was.

"I..It appeared it finally appeared the universal heart appeared" Ruby said with a trembling voice, the universal heart was something that would make even the three heads of the three universal powers start a big war for not to mention them.

"This mean that it's going to open hurry up no matter what, our priority right now is to get the universal heart we shouldn't let a fourth party get it" the Gareth said.

For the three universal powers the appearance of the universal heart meant great change and the opportunity to rise above the other two powers it's an item that can change the power structure of the twelve universes.

As they were going to call their people to start searching for it all the communication treasures on them started receiving massages at the same time.

They looked at each other and then received their massages all the messages were the same there were just a few words in each massage but all the massages had the same meaning:

"The world is unsealed"

Those three weren't normal people, they had lived for thousands of years and in order to get to their cultivation level they schemed fought and killed, so as soon as they get those messages they felt something fishy, the appearance of the universal heart and the reopening of the world was so much of a coincidence.

The three people soon disappeared from their places and returned to their headquarters in green star, but what awaited them when they returned to their base was even more shocking because as soon as they returned they get calls from the main headquarters in their respective universes asking them about the reason of green stars sealing for that day, each of the three people thought that they heard wrongly they had spent more than five years sealed in green star and there those people were telling them that green star had been sealed for a day and no more.
