The White Demon Fox

Chapter 25 - A Detour

The moment Kurama saw the wooden dragon he lost all his mental faculties, the sheer hot boiling anger in his heart overwhelmed all his senses. The Jūbi inheritance, the madness, hatred, and malice he controlled and buried deep within him were let out in full force. Kurama outright lost it, he could no longer see the rest of Konoha, he did not see Tobirama Senju standing nearby, Jiraiya on his giant toad, Shikaku Nara, Konoha Jonin commander accompanied by his two past teammates or any of Konoha best of the best, he only saw Hashirama Senju.

Kurama no longer wanted controlled destruction, he wanted the entire Land of Fire to despair with everything on it. The giant fox had enough, he subconsciously went back to his old chakra, his mind shuffled through everything he has ever known, two different souls merged together are now united more than they ever been to deliver the cosmos most destructive event they knew about, a sun model is no longer sufficient.

Kurama's tails rose up, his chakra was leaving his body at a visible rate, it was like a dam was opened, chakra in liquid form, condensed, compressed forcefully because it's one and only master wanted it out as fast as possible.

Hashirama was momentarily taken by surprise, he thought maybe he should not have provoked the fox like that, no matter, he was sure he can shut down the demon chakra completely.

"Mokuton Hijutsu: Jukai Kōtan (Wood Release Secret Technique: Nativity of a World of Tree)." With a single hand seal Hashirama unleashed one of his life most accomplished jutsu at the great demon fox from all sides.

Giant trees grew from the ground and shot their branches and roots to bind Kurama, it will completely shut him down, restrict and suppress him. The trees were full of life force, full of power, a true testament of Konoha founding father legends and strength.

A single chakra pulse, like a pebble thrown at a still water body, originated from Kurama's head, expanded in the blink of an eye, every tree, branch or root Hashirama sent were instantly rotted away, turned to nothing but dust to be carried by the wind.

Hashirama froze, his eyes almost left their sockets, never once in his life or death, he thought it was possible to strip life force away from this world most sacred release, to turn it into nothing with but one single pulse of chakra, Yin-Yang release at it finest.

Konoha forces were sharing Hashirama's disbelieve at what they had just witnessed, how and why, their eyes searched for the reason, they found an assuming sight, an old man, sitting on the fox's head, running his hand gently through his fur.

"This is enough son, let the dead handle the dead. Do not let all your efforts, all your hard work go to waste because of common rabbles, you were on the right path, it was right, none will give you a chance, no one will understand but your old man witnessed it all. I know this is not what you wanted but what was forced upon you. Nevertheless, you can't fall, you can't embrace your legacy, abandon it, you are not the mad One-Eyed God, you are Kurama."

The Sage pressed his right hand on top of Kurama's head, forcefully switched Kurama's chakra connections, white fur replaced the red. The Sage started pushing his own chakra into Kurama's body. Kurama was naturally losing his father's eyes and chakra, a natural result of his red chakra converting to white chakra and slowly influencing it and reducing its purity. The Sage pushed enough that Kurama returned to day 0, all the white chakra purity he lost from all the mass conversion of his red chakra to white chakra were returned to him by his father.

Kurama countenance calmed down, his father chakra washed over him like cold water, cleansed him and purified him of all his dark thoughts, it would not have worked if Kurama himself resisted, Kurama never wanted anything to do with his legacy, but he was forced into it, when the Sage gave him a chance to let go, he did.

Kurama settled down and sat down on all four like a pharaoh, his head raised, and he finally noticed the rest of Konoha forces. He looked around then smirked.

"Father, this young master is being bullied."

The Sage sighed, so much for not interfering, at least he is dealing with dead people and it is better than Kurama falling from grace. He may or may not also hold some resentment towards the one who sold his children using powers he inherited from him.

"Old man, who are you?" Asked Hashirama amused at the old man prowess and ability to calm down the Kyūbi like that.

The goofy smile on Hashirama's Edo Tensei cracked face did not get an answer, it got a hand clamping around his neck. He didn't even register the old man movement with his eyes or senses, one moment he was far at the top of the giant fox head and the second he was clamping a hand around his neck.

The Sage lifted his right hand and aimed it at Tobirama, Tobirama did not fly towards the Sage, he was teleported, his neck found itself to be held by the Sage of Six Paths.

"I'm tempted, should I bring you back to life just, so I can break your necks myself? But then it would be a shame for you to soil this planet air with your breath, you do not deserve a second chance, not even for a single breath." Mused the Sage.

"Now, what was it you told my son the last time you spoke to him? 'You are too dangerous to be left free. You are evil and should be locked away.' I must admit I was not happy when I saw it happen, but to my eternal shame I let it happen anyway for many reasons, perhaps if I could go back in time I would let it happen again because, in the end, it was a good fortune hidden within a series of bad misfortunes for my son. However, it does not absolve you or your village of your crimes. What did you do afterward? You hunted the rest of my children and sold them like common slaves. No remorse, no regrets and you filled your coffers with unimaginable wealth using powers you inherited from this old man. You unfilial child of mine." Said the Sage.

Hashirama could not even struggle, his chakra network is completely shut down, it was worse than what his wife did to him when she was angry at him. Tobirama though, was calm, analyzing the old man's eyes, it was the same eyes as the fox and from what he was told these eyes belonged to the Sage of Six Paths. Realization crept on Tobirama's face, shock and awe crept on him, they were royally f.u.c.k.e.d if this old man was their actual ancestor.

"It seems your brother realized who I am. He was always the smart one in the family, no? Off with you to the Pureland, your presence is most unwelcome." Four Truth-Seeking Balls turned into spears, penetrating Hashirama's body. It tore his immortal broken body apart and took away his regeneration, a single chakra pulse sent Konoha First Hokage crumbling like a house of cards, his soul already returned where it belonged.

The Sage let go of Tobirama and patted him on his shoulder, "Now why don't you take your grand uncle for a tour?"

"What uncle, what tour?" Asked Tobirama bewildered.

The Sage smiled and pointed towards Kurama, "Your uncle." Then pointed towards Konoha, "His new home."

"His home?"

The Sage nodded.

"Like a citizen?"

The Sage shook his head.

"Landlord?"

The Sage smirked and nodded.

"Surely we can find him a better home."

"No."

"But.."

"Should not have destroyed his home and went back on the deal you lots signed. Now, Konoha and by extension the Land of Fire is Kyūbi no Yōko property. He is not your new Daimyō, he is not your leader, he is your owner." Said the Sage.

"No one will accept this aberration. We surely can come up with a compromise that everyone can agree on." Said Tobirama.

"We have lost that right the moment my student and you all decided to go ahead with your treacherous plan. I tried to tell you this will backfire and bite us in the a.s.s but no one listened. Now we have what appears to be the Sage of Six Paths himself punishing us for our greed and irrational fear." Said Jiraiya from on top of Gamabunta's head.

Shikaku Nara palmed his face and muttered 'troublesome'. He did not link the old man to be the legendary figure who is supposed to be dead for a very long time now.

"I do not want Konoha nor its people, I wanted them out of my sight, now I want them dead." Said Kurama.

"Kurama, this is for the best, you can continue what you wanted to do in the Land of Whirlpools. This is not all that you are owed but it's a start." Said the Sage.

"No, they can't be trusted, I tried and you saw for yourself, I was forced to kill my own brother. This world wants me to be a monster then a monster they shall receive. They will all die, step aside and I will do it myself." Kurama stood up on his hind legs aimed a hand at Konoha and started flaring his white chakra.

"I will ensure it." Said the Sage.

Kurama looked down at his floating father with a quizzical look.

"I will broker this arrangement for you myself, be it guarantee and witness. I will make a second moon out of them if they betray you a second time. They will be yours to command, the wealthiest country and the wealthiest village. That mountain they carve their leaders faces on will be your seat of power, the seat you will finish what you started from." Said the Sage.

"All those that voted positively to betray our previous deal must die. Be it clan head or part of the village leadership. I won't consider anything further before they die." Said Kurama.

The Sage nodded and looked at Tobirama, commanding him with his eyes to get on with it.

Tobirama stared at the Sage not knowing what to do. If they knew he was still alive and treated the demon as his own son they would have done things very differently.

"We need time." Said Tobirama.

"No." Said the Sage.

"It is not my call, Konoha does not currently have a living Hokage, Sarutobi current whereabouts and condition is unknown, we don't know if he is even alive. Konoha needs to elect a new leader then settlements can be reached." Said Tobirama trying to buy time for his village.

The Sage raised his hand slowly, nine black spheres appeared on top of Konoha.

"Do as you are told or get destroyed. I know the rest of the village is hidden in shelters underground, I assure you they will not escape nor will they survive the creation of a second moon. I did not fight tooth and nail to rid this world of the mad Ten Tailed God just to watch you useless rabble force my son to embody his legacy. This is your own doing, own it." Said the Sage.

Tobirama sighed, the sight of his brother's destruction convinced him there was no hope of any resistance. He looked at Jiraiya, "You are to act as the village temporary Hokage. You were the only one who was convinced this will be the end result, now it is up to you to lead your fellow Shinobi out of this mess we dug for our village from beyond the grave. We should not have been resurrected or worked on completing Edo Tensei."

Jiraiya nodded seriously and jumped down from the Toad's head.

"Minato Namikaze, Hiruzen Sarutobi, Fugaku Uchiha, Homura Mitokado, Koharu Utatane, Tobirama Senju and Hashirama Senju. They are the ones that conspired to seal the Kyūbi and discard the deal that was established previously." Said Jiraiya.

Kurama closed his eyes, now he is calm, he can think clearly.

"The clans did not get a say in it?" Asked Kurama.

"No, it was Fugaku who proposed the initial plan. Minato, in the beginning, rejected it firmly but Fugaku somehow managed to convince him that it was now or never. It also did not help that sensei agreed to it with both Konoha elder advisors. The Shodai and Nidaime were resurrected around a month or so ago, give or take. Their opinion on the matter was taken, and they joined the plan after everything was explained to them. From there it was not hard to contact Kumo and Kiri to help. Kumo was heavily invested in the matter since they wanted the Eight-Tails back and Kiri could not say no to the amount of gold thrown at them, a good chance as any to say Konoha hired them and rub it in." Sight the Toad Sage.

"Very well, I killed Minato and Fugaku myself, now the rest must die. Have a Sarutobi who signed the Monkeys' clan contract summon Enma to confirm Hiruzen's situation, he will die too even if every bone in his body is broken. Once it is done I will see if it improves my mood and if I'm willing to listen to my father. At the moment I'm not willing." Said Kurama.
