The Wizard’s Love Spell

Chapter 20 - Quidditch Practice

The next day, was pretty boring. Most classes had quizzes on Friday so they were going over notes and other small matters that would be covered during the quiz. Nothing really major.

The only thing Isabella had to look forward to, was Quidditch practice.

She had grown up playing it with her sister and cousins. Her favorite cousin (even though she wasn't supposed to have favorite family members but she really couldn't help it). Remy was the one who taught her Quidditch. Every time he visited they'd play for hours a day, every day and when he wasn't there she'd practice on her own. She always wanted to beat him. He was usually the one who won, but these past few years Isabella had gotten stealthier and quicker than him, the matches between them were harder. Their scores were usually fairly close to one another.

After her sister's death Isabella had played and practiced more than usual, it had helped her get through everything. Kept her mind busy and away from the unpleasantness.

She definitely ready for practice. Today would only be with the main Team (Adam, Cal, Mary, Darcy, Jace and Lucy).

"Alright everyone. We have a game this Saturday against Gryffindor. We can't let them win the cup this year. I have hope that with Dumont, (she glanced at Isabella) we'll have a higher chance of winning. Now let's talk strategy." Darcy said, her face was stern, she was very serious. Isabella wondered how long Ravenclaw had been losing to Gryffindor.

Darcy lectured them on moves, and how they need to work together and all. Isabella sort of dozed off...which was unlike her typical Ravenclaw nature. She was looking forward to getting up in the air again. Just the feeling of the wind blowing her hair back, the sensation of flying, the speed, the rush of adrenaline flowing through her. She loved it.

Darcy noticed everyone starting to get bored and yawn. Sigh. What would she do with them if they didn't listen? She refused to let Gryffindor take the cup from her. It would not happen. Dumont had skills, Darcy had faith in her.

"Okay then, mount your brooms, team. Show me what ya got." She told them.

That they all heard. They rushed to their brooms, taking off and up into the sky before she could say anything else. She rushed after them.

"Get a bludger and quaffle out! Smith, you know where to go. Chasers, let me see how many you can get past our keeper. Beaters, careful with that bludger. Dumont! Try and keep up?" Darcy called out.

Isabella had no trouble keeping up. She felt it was too easy at the beginning. The beaters would hit the bludgers towards them, but not close enough to hurt them. Soon enough though, Darcy started pushing them. Making them work harder.

Darcy made them run (and fly) l.a.p.s around the field. She had them toss the quaffle around, more l.a.p.s, more dodging bludgers, and what not. They practiced for about an hour. Darcy sure knew how to work them to the core. But she kept them motivated the whole time, it was clear to see why she was the captain of the team.

"We'll practice again on Friday, we have to be ready for Saturday's game. We can't lose again." Darcy told them all before they headed down to dinner.

Isabella was starving. More than usual, that is. Practice had surely been a tough workout. But she looked forward to the next practice.

"You did great out there. Ya ready to face Gryffindor?" Jace had sat down next to her.

"Yeah! Speaking of which, how good is their seeker?" She had been wondering this.

"Oh you probably know him. He's a third year. Nicolas Potter. He's pretty g-"

"Wait! Potter?!" She had almost choked on her drink.

"Uh yeah. I'm guessing you know him..?" Jace judged off of her reaction.

"Know him? I have to tutor that kid. He's never mentioned anything about Quidditch..." Isabella said. 'Well he does have an athletic build, and seems pretty strong... so was it obvious he played Quidditch?' She then thought.

"Well, he's a great player. He hasn't lost a game. That's why Darcy is so determined to win. And she wants to beat Gryffindor at least once before she leaves Hogwarts. Next year's her last year. She doesn't wanna leave without a win."

"Makes sense."

"You know, I'm pretty sure no one, that is no one outside of the Ravenclaw team and your friends know that you're our seeker." He said, "So we can surprise Gryffindor. Potter won't see it coming."

"Great. We'll win this game. This'll be Potter's first loss." A smile crossed her face. He knew the nerd side of Isabella. The bookworm, the smart side. Just wait til he met her competitive side. He wouldn't stand a chance.
