The Wizard’s Love Spell

Chapter 22 - “To Our New Seeker!”

There were Ravenclaws at the entrance of the common room keeping the doors open for them so they wouldn't all have to solve the riddle when coming in.

If any passerby were to walk by at this moment they wouldn't be able to believe that this was the Ravenclaw common room.

Most of the time the common room was quiet, except for the sound of pages turning and quills writing on parchment.

But today was an exception. Today, the Ravenclaws had a reason to stop studying. Because, they had finally beaten Gryffindor. After so many years, they had done it.

Everyone was crowded around the team, they all looked at Isabella.

"Everyone settle down!" Darcy called, she was standing on a table. Very un-Ravenclaw-like. "After so many years we have come second to the Gryffindors. And now, finally we have beaten them. And it is all thanks to our newest member. Our Seeker, Isabella Dumont!"

Somewhere within the crowd of Ravenclaws, someone yelled "To our new seeker!"

All around Isabella, people raised their hands and clapped, some yelling "to our seeker!" But no one looked any happier than Darcy. She beamed with happiness. Her blue eyes seemed to shine brighter and they seemed bigger too.

People were all chatting, some even had food, but Isabella wasn't sure where they got it from. Darcy approached Isabella.

"Isabella, I have faith that we may win the Cup this year. You're a great seeker, and I bet that you've got more tricks up your sleeve..."

"You bet I do... I'll do my best to get this team as far as possible."

Darcy patted her on the shoulder. "I believe you. Now go on and celebrate. You're the reason we won today!" And with that Darcy skipped away.

As Isabella was looking for Mira, weaving her way through all the people, Jace and Adam found her.

"There's the star of the team!" Adam said to her.

"Dude, you did great too. You blocked so many goals from Gryffindor! And Jace, that third goal was great! Wade didn't even see it coming!" She told them.

"Yeah well, Nick hadn't lost a game til today so I'd say that is an even greater accomplishment. And even before Nick, his older brother had been Seeker and he hadn't lost a game either. Gryffindor's had a winning streak going for like seven years!" Jace told her, he too was beaming.

Isabella ended up chatting with them for a while, mostly about Quidditch.

It was about an hour or two later before everyone settled down and left to go do other things. Professor Bletchley had come and said-

"Alright everyone, I am also extremely happy about Ravenclaw's win today, but this celebration is over. Go outside and do something. Study!" She had said other things but that was basically the only thing that Isabella had heard through everyone's protests.

"Mira! There you are." Isabella said, when she had gotten through a crowd of second years.

"You've probably already heard this a thousand times, but congrats Isabella! I knew you could do it!" She exclaimed.

"Thanks!" Isabella said before adding on, "what time is it? I'm starving.... is it close to dinner yet?"

"In about half an hour... wanna head down early?"

"Please."

Down in the Great Hall, it seemed they weren't the only ones who thought of perhaps having an early dinner. Unfortunately, their hopes for that were, well, hopeless.

Their teachers were too punctual to start dinner early. And Isabella's stomach was protesting very loudly.

Professor Avery stood at the front of the great hall.

"Congratulations, to Ravenclaw today on their win against Gryffindor! I suppose this will be an interesting season. I look forward to seeing these two teams face off again in the near future." And with that the food appeared on the table and Isabella wasted no time in digging in.

She tried to take it slow, but the food at Hogwarts was simply too good! Who knew she would ever find a sandwich to be so good? Or maybe it was just because she was starving that she felt that the food was so good.

"Have you eaten enough, Isabella?" Mira teased her when dinner was over.

"It's too good! Plus I was starving! I can't resist food.... you know I love it."

"I could certainly tell." Mira said, laughing a little.

The girls chatted all the way up Ravenclaw tower, and they stayed up late too. Mira had recently gotten Isabella into a book series about an unlikely pair of young detectives. It was a book written by a muggle. Muggles truly had quite the imagination. Mira had brought many books from the muggle world, each one more interesting than the last.

"You must come with me and Michelle to a muggle bookstore someday."

"It sounds quite interesting..." Isabella said through a yawn.

Soon they were both deep asleep.
