The Wizard’s Love Spell

Chapter 24 - Up In The Air

Potter was pulling her up onto Charlie. And Charlie didn't seem to mind.

"What are you doing?! Potter! POTTER!!! Wait a sec-" She was sitting on Charlie behind Nick. This must have been what her gut had warned her about earlier.

"Don't worry, Bella. Just wrap your arms around me."

"W- wait! Potter don't you dare... I will murder y-" she was cut off.

"Come on Charlie!"

He spread his majestic wings out, galloped forwards and then took off.

Isabella screamed, and held onto to Potter tightly.

"Loosen up a bit, you're going to kill me here!" He yelled through the wind. They were up pretty high. She loosened her grip a bit, but not too much. Her face was buried in his back, she was too afraid to look.

"Hey it's alright. You can look you know. I promise you wont fall." He reassured her. His voice sounded very calm.

"I'll still murder you later, Potter." She mumbled. He chuckled.

Slowly she looked up and around her. Charlie was gliding high in the air. The skies were clear, and she could see everything. She felt the cool breeze go through her hair and touch her face. She sort of wanted to lift her hands up, to try and touch the clouds but she didn't dare let go of Potter.

The big lake, the castle and every one of its tall towers, the Forbidden Forest, which seemed to stretch for miles. Off in the distance she saw a glimpse of Hogsmeade. A small town. She'd heard of it, they were supposed to go and see it next weekend. Third years and up were allowed to go to Hogsmeade.

"Whoa." Isabella said. "This actually really amazing..."

"So... can you not kill me?" Potter joked.

"Oh I still will. You brought me up here against my will..." then she said very quietly, "even though this view is stunning... and im considering letting you go free..."

"What was that?" Nick asked.

"Nothing." She replied quickly.

Soaring through the air, Charlie took them all around the Hogwarts grounds. It seemed that people didn't notice Charlie, which was good.

Isabella's head was leaned against Potter's back as she gazed out into the sky. She let out a heavy sigh. This was so peaceful, Nick thought. He loved to ride Charlie. It was different from riding a broom. Charlie was definitely more comfortable. But aside from that, riding him just gave Nick a different feeling. He felt more content on a Hippogriff than on a broom.

After a while Charlie was starting to descend back onto the ground.

Nick helped Isabella off.

"Thanks Charlie..." she petted him and Charlie nuzzled up against Isabella. "Good boy." She whispered to him.

Potter stood there staring at her. How come Charlie was so fond of her?! Charlie was so affectionate towards her! He was indeed one of the gentler Hippogriffs but Nick had never seen him be THIS gentle or affectionate with anyone. Aside from maybe his older brother. Actually no. Even then Charlie wasn't like this. He must have a thing for Bella... Nick thought.

But poor Nick had been busy thinking to see Isabella coming towards him. She punched his shoulder.

"Ow! This is abuse!" He yelled.

"No it's not. You deserve that. You scared the crap out of me! I didn't even give you my consent, Potter!"

"Hmph. But you enjoyed the ride didn't you??"

"Doesn't matter! Now... um.. how do we get out of this forest? I'm starving..." she said, quickly changing topic.

"Let's head down to lunch then. It's probably 11ish already."

Isabella followed Potter out of the forest and tried to memorize the way he took so perhaps she could come here on her own and not get lost.

"I think we need to fix our study schedule... with Quidditch coming up we'll both get quite busy..." Nick said, as they walked through the winding halls of the castle.

"How about after dinner? Quidditch practices are always after classes."

"Alright, cool." Nick replied as they walked into the Great Hall. It was 11:30, they were in time for lunch. "See you tomorrow then."

He went off to sit at the Gryffindor table with his Quidditch buddies.

Isabella went to find Mira. When she did find her eating at the Ravenclaw table, she was eyeing her weirdly.

"What's up?" Isabella asked, as she sat down next to her.

"You were with Potter all morning?" Mira asked, with an interrogating tone.

"Yeah." Isabella quickly replied and then grabbed food. "Adam, when's our next practice?" She quickly changed the topic. Isabella didn't want Mira to ask anything else. She couldn't tell her about Charlie.

Adam and Isabella dived into a conversation about Quidditch.

'Hm, so they're spending weekends together now huh... wonder what they're up to....' Mira thought. But she was quickly snapped out of her little daze.
