The Wizard’s Love Spell

Chapter 28 - Drawings

They were in the forest once again. Isabella was later than usual today. Mira had stopped to talk to her in the morning, and it was a while before she had let her go.

She found Charlie laying in the sunlight. It was getting colder, it was around 7 degrees celsius.

"Hey there, Charlie..." Isabella petted him, and Charlie was certainly happy about the attention. Isabella was happy about the warmth that Charlie provided. Isabella felt that it was really cold. Even though she was wearing a pretty thick cable knit sweater.

Nick on the other hand wore a simple t-shirt and a pair of joggers. He must've not been that cold. He didn't seem to have noticed Isabella yet. He was pretty focused on something. As Isabella approached him she saw that it was that sketch book, and he had a set of pencils next to him.

"Oh, hey. I didn't notice you..." He said when he glanced up. She went to sit down next to him, and he shut the sketchbook.

"What were you doing?" She inquired.

"Nothing really..." his voice was quiet.

"Can I see?"

He hesitated, and gripped the sketchbook tightly. His cheeks also seemed a bit flushed.

"What was the hold up today?"

"Mira. Don't try and change the topic. It only makes me more curious as to what you're hiding, Potter. Like that time a few weeks ago you had a paper you were scribbling on, but you wouldn't let me see. I've seen you with that sketchbook before. It can't be anything bad can it?"

"Well, no... but..." he started to move the sketchbook behind his back.

"Please..." she pouted.

He rolled his eyes at her. Her eyes pleaded with him. Nick had never let anyone see his sketches. The only person who knew of his drawings was his older brother. "Fine." He told her. He handed the sketchbook over.

Isabella smiled and took the book. She flipped to the first page. It was a rough outline of an animal, a Hippogriff. It didn't look finished.

The next few pages were the same, rough sketches of animals, a cityscape, and a man who looked very similar to Nick.

But the next pages had more detail. One was the head of a Hippogriff, each feather looked carefully drawn, it must've taken forever to do it. There was a drawing of what must've been the Gryffindor common room. It didn't have as many books and shelves as Ravenclaw, there were more armchairs and it felt more relaxed and cozy than Ravenclaw too. Another drawing looked like Charlie, and it seemed that Nick was working on drawing the background. There was a few more of Charlie, in different positions, and different places. But the one that caught her eye, was the one where Charlie was laying down and there was a figure laying on him...

"Is that me?" Isabella muttered to herself. Nick heard and turned to see what page she was on. There was a slight blush creeping up his neck and ears.

He was about to take the book back but Isabella shoved him away. She looked closer. It was her. Even though it was small she could see the long hair and her facial features. It was a beautiful drawing.

"You're good at drawing..." she said, turning the page.

And Nick sort of panicked on the inside. "Wait!" But she had already seen the page. It was a scene at the library, another drawing with Isabella in it. He'd gotten every detail. The look of confusion on her face from what she had been reading, a little hair in her face, her slightly squinted eyes, the title of the book, some people in the background.

"That's all." Nick snatched the book from her hands.

"Why can't I see the rest?"

"It's..... personal." Nick said, 'Personal? Yeah right...' he thought. The next drawing was a full drawing of Isabella. Yesterday, before waking her up, he'd gotten close to her in order to draw a close up of her face. She was so relaxed when sleeping, calm. Like she had no worries. And usually her mind always seemed full, always thinking. Sometimes he wished he could see what was running through her head.

"Fine then.." Isabella said. She got up and went to lay with Charlie again.
