The next day started out pretty typical besides the fact that all the sailors now tried to get on Eric's good side. They would greet him as if he was their boss, and made it their mission to make his trip as comfortable as it could be.

Few even offered to buy him expensive items that were sold on the ship with their own hard-earned money!

He, of course, politely declined and quickly distanced himself from them to meet up with Melanie, who was waiting for him at a table on the front deck.

The view was still amazing as it was yesterday, but what really amazed Eric was that he'd meet Melanie again so soon.

On a cruise!

But now he encountered a problem.

Or was he thinking too much?

Melanie insisted that she go to Maxima Island with him after he told her his plans. Eric tried to tell her that he wanted to go alone, but she kept on insisting as she wanted to journey with him for a little while.

'Journey, huh?' The word journey gets used a lot in the Pokemon world as it's easy to pack a bag and leave home to visit a completely new place. It's one of the things that made Eric love Pokemon as you practically could travel the world without restrictions.

Well, unless you don't have money and that's a situation that Eric needed to address soon as he was running low on money. He never received money from trainers he defeated like in the video game, and really why would they?

"Oh well, that's a bridge that I'll cross later.." Eric sighed, laying his head on the table after sitting down.

"What's that?" Melanie asked.

"Ah, it's nothing... But are you sure you want to watch me train? It'd be pretty boring." Eric said in a monotonous voice as a last effort to keep Melanie from coming with him. 'It's not that I hate her..its just if I'm alone with her...'

"I'm beginning to think that you don't want me to be around~ Remember you said that I could travel with you, or did you forget?" Melanie teased as she stuck out her tongue. "No, seriously, I want to join you as this will be beneficial for me."

"Beneficial, how?"

"I get to see how a Pokemon Trainer train their Pokemon up close. Plus, Pikachu wants me to come, right?" Melanie said as she gently scratched the belly of Pikachu, who had leaped in her l.a.p when he sat down.

[Pikaa~~] Pikachu nodded as it squeaked happily from the belly scratches.

"Tch...traitor," Eric muttered underneath his breath. "Well, we should reach the island in one more day, which is good because I already miss land." He g.r.o.a.n.e.d.

Melanie giggled and continued to make small conversation with Eric until two bowls of what looked to be ramen were placed on the table by a peculiar sailor with purple hair.

(A/N: Hmm..?)

"The captain figured that you two may be hungry and ordered the special for you two." The sailor said before walking away.

"Wow..." Eric gasped as he could see the ramen was still piping hot with visible steam traveling upward with the smell of it, which stirred his hunger. 'Let's dig in!' He thought as he grabbed the chopsticks placed beside the bowl. Eric never used chopsticks before, but oddly he was able to pick them up and immediately start eating.

Delicious!

"H-hot!!" Eric shouted with a mouthful of the noodles, but he refused to spit it out.

"You should have blown on it first! No one is going to steal it from you!" Melanie frowned slightly, shaking her head at the childnishness.

[Pika..] Pikachu nodded in agreement, but it didn't look entirely believable as it was drooling from the smell of ramen.

Eric ignored the two and continued to eat, letting his taste buds revel in a salty but slightly sweet taste of the noodles. There were also pieces of meat in the ramen and...

'Nope! Don't think about it! But even so, weren't there some indication of real-life animals in Pokemon?' He mused.

(A/N: I'll tell you right now that it's going to be a frequent thing with not mentioning where meat comes from. XD)

"It's really good...I-"

Suddenly someone bumped into Eric while his hands were on the bowl, and as a result, it fell over spilling its contents all over the table.

"NOOOOO!!!" Eric screamed at the top of his lungs over the loss of his ramen. He felt something break within him and quickly turned around to see the culprit. "Who!-"

*Dramatic music plays*

"Prepare for trouble. You look a bit mad." Jessie grinned as she posed.

"And make it double probably because there's no lunch to be had," James said, removing the sailor costume he wore revealing his Team Rocket outfit.

"To protect the world from devastation!"

"To unite all peoples within our nation!"

"To denounce the evils of truth and love "

"To extend our reach to the stars above! "

"Jessie!"

"James!"

"Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!"

"Surrender now or prepare to fight!

"Meowth! That's right!" A Meowth said just as it did a front flip in front of the two with a strange box-like contraption.

A crowd started to form around the area due to the commotion and observed as they thought it to be some kind of act.

"...I hope you're happy... Because that will be your last intro! You're finished!" Eric wasn't one to get angry easily, but this time was an exception!

"Oh-hoh~ Someone is really angry whatever shall we do~" Jessie snickered.

"Well first off...We should do this!" Meowth shouted as he pressed a button on the contraption. Suddenly large red hands attached to a spring popped out and went straight towards Pikachu with lightning-like speed. The hands grabbed Pikachu, yanking it out of Melanie's l.a.p before retracting back towards Meowth. "Pikachu captured~."

[Pika?! Pikachuuuuuu! Pi?] Pikachu couldn't even react to being grabbed, but once it was captured, it would use ThunderBolt. However, nothing would happen.

"Oh, no, Pikachu!" Melanie shouted. She remembered this troublesome trio from the forest, but she didn't understand why were they were here.

"Ahaha! Not this time, Pikachu! We learned our lesson and made sure that this machine is resistant to electricity!" James chuckled.

"And this thing happens to be able to absorb electricity! You won't be getting out!" Meowth said.

Eric quickly gets up from his seat and grabs the Pokeball for Pidgeotto."You!-" However, he wasn't able to say much more as he fell down to his knees. 'W-why do I feel so weak?...wait..'

"D-did you drug me?!" Eric couldn't believe such a thing could happen. The trio has always been the comedic relief for Pokemon and consistently fails to get Pikachu. 'They f.u.c.k.i.n.g drugged me?!'

*Ding! Trainer has suffered from unknown substances and must recover. 5 minutes until full recovery!*

"We would love to get away without you interfering," Jessie said.

"So, we gave you a little something to relax!" James maliciously grinned.

"What's going on here?!" Melanie's Grandfather quickly caught wind of the incident and immediately rushed to the front deck.

"Think it's time to make like banana and split!" Meowth announced, jumping off the cruise towards the ocean.

"Tata for now!" Jessie jumped after Meowth with James close behind.

Eric struggled to the railing of the ship and managed to catch a glimpse of giant Magikarp submarine moving away from the area. "Those...bastards.." He muttered as he weakly put his left leg over the railing, preparing to jump into the ocean.

"What are you doing!" Melanie screamed with fright, grabbing hold of Eric's arm to keep him from jumping.

"They took Pikachu! And I need to catch up to them!" Eric said with a slight slur. It seemed the drug was also affecting his mind.

"Are you crazy? You'll never catch up with them by swimming!"

"She's right, you know." Melanie's Grandfather added in.

"B-but!"

"However, I do have something that will catch up to them.." Melanie's Grandfather pulled out a Pokeball from his belt. "Go! Gyarados!"

[Roooar] A massive Gyarados the same height as the cruise ship made its presence known in the ocean with a loud roar. It then swam near its trainer to see what he wanted.

"Gyarados, I need you to help this boy out. Go use bind on that Magikarp submarine and just restrain it!" Melanie's Grandfather pointed in the direction on the submarine just before it disappeared underwater. However, Gyarados happened to catch a glimpse of it and immediately dived underwater to chase after it.

---------

"We're getting away! I can't believe we did it!" James shouted happily as he pedaled along with Jessie to move the submarine.

"Finally, with this Pikachu, the boss is going to forget that stupid Persian!" Meowth said as he started to daydream a little.

[Pika...CHUUUU!!..pika..] Pikachu was now inside a restrictive orb device that rendered it completely useless as it also had a strong resistance to electricity. It was now utterly exhausted after using so much energy and started to believe it will never see its trainer again.

No...Pikachu didn't want that!

[Pi..] Pikachu's eyes suddenly started to glow red, but only for a second as it was truly too tired.

"Focus you two! We still need to get away before we can celebrate." Jessie cautioned as she somehow felt something was wrong.

"What? There's no way for them to catch with us now-"

*Creak*

The sound of the submarine creaking interrupted James and immediately after they heard a terrifying roar.

"What was that?!" Meowth shrieked in fear.

Jessie looked into the periscope attached to the submarine to look around to see the culprit. "G-G-G-GYARADOS!!"

It was almost as if Gyarados took that as its cue to squeeze the submarine even harder. The creaking noise got even louder, and immediately the trio started to take on water through now exposed crevices.

"What do we do, Jessie?!" James shouted as he pedaled faster from fear, but even with the extra speed, they couldn't escape.

--------

Eric was kneeling on the deck when he finally received good news.

*Ding! Trainer has recovered.*

But then...

*Ding! Pikachu has @#[email protected]%&* move [email protected]#$s# Error! Error!*

"What?!" Eric couldn't make out that last part about Pikachu, but something about it made him worry.

Melanie placed her hand on Eric's shoulder, "What's wrong, Eric? Is the drug still affecting you?" She asked with concern. "Maybe we should get you to the ship's doctor about it. Hopefully its nothing serious.."

Eric shook his head, "No, it's nothing...and I'm fine now." He managed to stand up straight after he recovered, surprising Melanie once again, but only for a moment.

[Roooar!] The sound of Gyarados could be heard just ahead as it pulled Team Rocket's submarine to the surface.

"There they are! That's good, Gyarados! Now gently rip off the top with Bite!" Melanie's Grandfather commanded.

[Roaar]Gyarados nodded it's head, leaning over the submarine before it gently bites into the metal as if it was smooth butter.

"What should we do?! We have nothing that can defeat that!" James screamed.

"I don't know! But I think we're all dead!" Meowth said as he began to cry.

Eric watched Gyarados opened the submarine like a soup can, and he immediately spotted Pikachu inside some kind of orb. "Pidgeotto!" He shouted as he grabbed one Pokeball from his belt and released Pidgeotto in the air.

[Chaaa!] Pidgeotto stared at its trainer, waiting for his command as it flapped its wings to stay in the air.

"Pidgeotto, I need you to grab Pikachu!" Eric shouted, pointing at the ruined Magikarp submarine.

[Chaaa!!] Pidgeotto nodded its head and flew towards Team Rocket at its fastest possible speed. It spotted Pikachu right away in the hands of Meowth and swopped down, extending its talons, preparing itself to grab Pikachu.

"I don't know about you, but I'm not dying without a fight!" Jessie stood up and grabbed her Pokeball.

"W-wait! You're Ekans can't swim! And there's no room in this tiny submarine!" James said, grabbing hold of Jessie's arm.

"Then use your Koffing!" Jessie snapped.

"But-"

[Chaaa!!] Pidgeotto quickly moved in, sinking its sharp talons into the orb cage holding Pikachu and took off back into the air.

Success!

"What the-Hey! Bring that back! We stole that fair and square! Eeep.." Meowth quickly backed down after being glared by Gyarados.

Pidgeotto flew back towards the cruise with Pikachu tightly in its grasp.

"Hahaha! Pikachu!" Eric laughed with his arms stretched out.

[Pika!!] Pikachu immediately perked up once it saw its trainer. It even started to cry from how happy and relieved it was to be back.

[Chaaa] Pidgeotto gently flung the cage towards its trainer once it was close enough.

Eric caught the cage and instantly ripped it open, freeing Pikachu from the tight enclosure.

[Pika! Pikachuu~ ] Pikachu leaped towards its trainer's c.h.e.s.t, causing him to drop what was left of the cage to hold it.

Eric held Pikachu close and stroked its head as it quickly fell asleep from exhaustion. "Pidgeotto-"

Melanie's Grandfather placed his hand on Eric's shoulder, "I got this young man. Gyarados use Hyper Beam!"

[Roaaar] Gyarados used its energy to form white particles of light in front of its mouth until it created a massive ball. It then released that energy as a beam of light, causing the submarine to explode on contact with Team Rocket inside.

*Boom*

The trio was sent flying into the air after being hit by the explosion.

"We were so close!" Jessie complained

"I'm just glad we are getting away from that monster." James sighed.

"Team Rocket's blasting off again!" They all shouted as they disappeared into the distance.

"That's a strong Gyarados you have their gramps," Eric said.

"Don't call me gramps! Just call me, Sid!" Melanie's Grandfather shouted after recalling Gyarados into its Pokeball. "You did great old friend." 'Now, my granddaughter will praise me and say that I was really cool!'

"It's good to see Pikachu back." Melanie smiled as she stayed beside Eric.

"Yeah, I think we should-"

"H-hey! What about me! Aren't you going to say anything about me, Melanie?!" Sid cried out, pointing at himself.

"Oh yeah, thank you for helping Eric," Melanie said before continuing to talk with Eric.

*Crack*

Something broke, but only one person could hear it.

'It's ok, Sid! Don't cry...Don't...' Sid slowly turned around and quickly wiped his eyes before making the long trip back to his quarters.

Soon after, Eric decided to go back to his cabin to rest with Pikachu, but the real reasoning was to look at his menu.

"Damn it, why is this system so crappy! You don't even tell genders of my Pokemon! You can't even let me see what moves they know!" Eric complained as something about that alert about Pikachu worried him to no end.

"You're nothing but tras-"
