*Ding! System will undergo update and will take approximately 1 week to complete*

*Warning! Trainer will only have access to Inventory during this time *

*Warning! Pikachu has gained @#$%&corru*:+ Please be wary trainer*

"What?-" Eric looked at Pikachu sleeping soundly on the bed and then back at the menu, which grayed out all the options except for Inventory. He was excited about the update, but then he started to panic a little.

'The system... It responded to me! Is someone watching me through the system?! What's really wrong with Pikachu?... I won't be able to see my stats?!... Ugh...' He had hundreds of questions ready to be answered by the system, but he had to wait an entire week to maybe get them answered.

Eric sighed, putting away his Pokedex before lying down next to Pikachu as there was nothing more that he could do. "I'll just have to keep my eye out for you... And to think you used to hate me not too long ago. A lot has happened, and it hasn't even been a month..." He chuckled softly as he stroked Pikachu's head, causing it to smile in its sleep.

Having dealt with the whole ordeal regarding Team Rocket earlier, Eric now felt a little tired and decided to take a short nap. "Just...A short one.." He muttered, closing his eyes.

--------

*Knock Knock*

Suddenly someone started to furiously knock on Eric's door.

"Eric! Wake up! Open the door!" A familiar voice shouted.

"Ugh...Melanie?" Eric g.r.o.a.n.e.d as he rubbed his eyes. "How long was I out?..." He felt a bit sluggish, so he figured he was out for several hours. "...Everything is moving so much... Am I still affected by the drug?.."

He then slowly got out of bed, and almost immediately noticed something wrong.

"Wait that's not me-"

*Boom!*

The sound of deafening thunder snapped Eric right out of his tired state, and he quickly ran to the door to open it.

"What's going on?!" He shouted as he was greeted with the sight of a terrible storm.

Massive dark clouds blocked out the entire sky as rain fell crazily down into the ocean. Wave after wave pummeled against the ship, rocking it back and forth as it made slight creaking noises.

*Boom*

Another round of thunder entered Eric's ears after lightning struck the ocean, not too far away from the ship.

Melanie, who was wearing a bright yellow poncho drenched in water, pushed her way inside, "We ran into a storm. It came out of nowhere. All of sudden it formed in under 30 minutes and it's progressively getting worse... Grandpa is trying to escape it."

" Is there something we should be doing?" Eric said as he closed the door.

Melanie sighed, "Grandfather said nothing should happen to the ship as it is built to take on storms like this. We just need to be careful is all."

"I came to check on you, but who'd knew that you sleep like a rock. I was banging on that door for 10 minutes." Melanie said as she shook her head.

"Haha... Yeah, I wanted to a short nap, but it didn't turn out the way. Hey.." Eric noticed that Pikachu was still sound asleep even after all the noise. "Looks like someone is even worse than me." He thought it was funny at first, but then something was odd about Pikachu's sleeping.

Eric walked over to the bed, "Hey...Pikachu." He gently nudged Pikachu with his hand.

[...] Pikachu didn't budge at all and continued to sleep.

"Is something wrong?" Melanie asked, moving next to Eric.

"I'm not sure...Hey, budd wake up." Eric spoke even louder as he gently shook Pikachu's body.

However, still, Pikachu didn't move at all.

"Pikachu!! Wake up!" Eric shouted, shaking Pikachu even harder. 'Why is Pikachu not waking up?! Does this have something to do with what happened to it?!'

"Let me see." Melanie gently moved Eric aside and took a look at Pikachu. She wasn't a doctor, but she spent quite a while taking care of injured Pokemon, so she knew a few things. She quickly felt Pikachu's forehead for a fever, but it was normal.

Melanie's brow furrowed after the discovery, "It's not sick, and it definitely isn't it pain from its peaceful expression on its face. I'm not sure why it isn't waking up. I have some herbs in my room that might-"

Suddenly it started to get even noisier outside, but it wasn't from the storm.

"What is that?!"

"Is that some kind of bird?!"

"Oh my god.."

The voices of people steadily grew louder that even Eric became curious and opened his door. "Stay with Pikachu. I'll go look."

Melanie nodded her head, focussing her attention back on Pikachu as Eric left the room.

Eric ignored the rain bombarding his body, and looked up to see if he could find anything. "Its..."

It was extremely bright as it was the only thing shedding light in the darkness. Electricity seeped out from all over its body and seemed to increase with each flap of its mighty wings. Lightning was attracted to this being, which didn't seem strange as its entire body looked similar to one.

(A\N: It's Pikachu!)

Zapdos!

(A\N: Damn it!!)

"What's Zapdos doing here?!" Eric unconsciously shouted.

Zapdos seemed to notice Eric's voice and immediately locked its small beady eye's onto him and screeched loudly as if it was furious!

The storm seemed to respond to Zapdos's raging emotions and took a turn for the worse. Thunder became louder and even more frequent as lightning came down, striking anything its path, scaring any sane passenger back into their cabins.

[You! You should not be here with that abomination!]

"Who?.." Eric looked around as he could have sworn he heard a voice. It sounded like it came from a male, but no one was around.

[You, boy! I am talking to you!]

Zapdos screeched loudly again as it flew down from the sky in an instant, only stopping when it was several inches away from the railing of the ship.

"You!-You can talk?!"

[Only because I'm speaking directly to your mind. Do you have any idea what you are? What bringing that Pikachu into this world does?!]

"No, I have no idea! I just woke up one day in this body!" Eric shouted. He didn't know why, but he didn't like the tone Zapdos was using.

Of course, he doesn't know what's going on!

No one has told him anything!

"Eric! What's going on?!" Melanie asked, running out of the cabin with Pikachu in her arms. She immediately froze from fear as she recognized the giant yellow bird right away. "Z-Zapdos?!"

The electricity around Zapdos became even fiercer after the arrival of Pikachu.

[You and that 'Pikachu' shouldn't be here! I don't know how you got here, but that 'Pikachu' accessed something it shouldn't. I should just end both your lives right here and-]

Zapdos suddenly stopped and looked around as if it was searching for something.

Before that moment, Eric thought that he was going to be killed. He could tell that if Zapdos wanted to, then it could kill him within seconds. He felt extremely powerless even more so when he was trashed by that bulky guy from Team Rocket.

'What's going on...Why is Zapdos so hostile..'

"Eric, what's going on?..." Melanie managed to regain her composure and grabbed hold of Eric's arm while cradling Pikachu with her left arm. She was afraid, terrified even, but she wasn't going to abandon him.

Zapdos suddenly moved even closer to the railing and gazed directly into Eric's eyes as its body began to draw in lightning.

It was preparing for something big!

[You... I'll end your existence! Your arrival into this world caused events that should have never happened! You've created a world that-]

[That's enough! Know your place, Zapdos! It is not our place to judge the decision of Arceus!]

A feminine voice entered Eric's head, and immediately he looked for the source. However, nothing was in sight, but if he'd look closer at the ocean, then he would have seen a pair of glowing blue eyes underwater.

[You!-Don't you see what's going on?! That boy-No that thing!! It is being forced into our world when it didn't belong! And that 'Pikachu' is corrupted! It's tapping into powers it shouldn't have! We-]

[ENOUGH!] The voice shouted with an unknown power that instantly calmed the raging seas, stunning both Eric and anyone still watching the scene. [Do NOT test me, or I will send you back from whence you came!]

[Grrr... I'll leave...for now] Zapdos seemed to be generally afraid of the owner of the voice and quickly started to fly away, disappearing into the dark clouds.

Soon after, rays of the sun started to peek through the clouds until eventually all of it dissipated, revealing the clear blue sky and the warm sun.

It was if nothing had happened...

"I'm not sure who you are, but thank you..."

"Eric? Thank you to who?" Melanie asked with confusion written all over her face.

[Eric? That's the name you have chosen?]

"Yes?"

[I see... Eric, what Zapdos is saying is true. You do not belong in this world.]

"But then why am I here?! What's happening to me! " Eric furiously shouted, gripping the metal railing so hard that he crushed it.

[Please calm yourself... And speak with your mind for the remainder of our chat. First and foremost, you don't belong in this world. However, you are not without purpose. So do not despair]

'Can you tell me my purpose? What am I doing here in a world I thought to be fictional?''

[I'm afraid that I can't as I don't know what Arceus is thinking, but I must warn you that your life will be in danger now. Even more so with that Pikachu around.]

'Do you know what's happening to Pikachu?'

[Pikachu... It is in another world... At least in spirit... I can pull it back to its body, but it will only be temporary. You will need to find a way to keep it anchored to this world] The voice said just as a blue light surrounded Pikachu's body.

"What's going on with Pikachu?! Eric, what's going on?!" Melanie was usually calm, but after everything that's happened in the span of several minutes. She was way beyond being calm.

[....Pika?] Pikachu slowly woke up from what seemed like a dream. It was confused as to what happened to it and looked to its trainer for answers.

"Hey, Pikachu. Glad you're awake." Eric smiled, relieved that Pikachu was fine, but still, he remembered what the voice said.

[I can't stay here for much longer, but I'll tell you that you have to become much stronger then you are now. You are on the right path.]

'I still don't understand anything! Why are there so many inconsistencies with my memory?! I can't remember my own name!... I cant'-..' Eric frowned at the thought as he tried to remember his life before coming here, but parts of his memory were blank. It was as if someone came in and perfected erased them.

Knowing that he was losing memory frightened him, and so far, there was nothing that he could do.

[Forgive me...I can't say anything. Before I leave, I'll make that everyone forget what happened.]

'WAIT!'

--------

It's been an entire day since that strange event, and everyone, including Melanie, only thought it was a storm. However, Eric knew the truth. 'Who was that though?' he thought as he laid in bed.

[Pika?] Pikachu looked at its trainer as he showed a complicated expression that varied from sadness to anger. It wondered what was going on with him, but it also wondered what was going on with itself.

Pikachu somehow felt stronger.

It wasn't much, but it could feel the growth in strength.

"We should be arriving at Maxima Island in a little bit. I hope...I can at least put all of this behind me with training.." Eric sighed, climbing out of bed, and made himself look presentable before grabbing his blue bag. "Let's go, Pikachu. We got a lot to do."

[Pika!] Pikachu jumped on its trainer's shoulder before he opened the door.

Eric's light-hearted journey to become a Pokemon Master quickly turned into something else, but despite all of that, why is there a feeling of excitement underneath all his worries?
