The World Of Pokemon 2.0

Chapter 27 - Day Twenty-seventh / Learning pt. 1

Another day has passed, and things were looking up for Eric as he finally started his training. He wanted to get used to his body more, so he made the decision to start exercising along with his Pokemon.

From sit-ups, push-ups and even pulls up using a nearby tree, he did it all with hopes of improvement. He worked up quite a sweat and even felt a bit refreshed afterward.'

"Exercising isn't going to help what you're trying to accomplish," Mishal said as he stirred what looked to be stew that he made with the utensils and ingredients he brought along in his huge bag.

"Ugh... And why are you still here?!' Eric asked with a groan, wiping the sweat from his forehead with a towel. 'Is he planning on staying with us?! Please, Author, don't do this to me!''

"Well, I have to be by your side to teach you! You are my successor, remember?" Mishal explained as if it was the most normal thing to say. He even looked at Eric as if he was an idiot for even asking.

"I do not want to learn anything from you! Now get lost!" Eric snapped.

"Don't be like that! You'll love being a cook!~" Mishal laughed cheerfully as he continued to work on the stew. He even started to hum a pleasant tune, but somehow it just annoyed Eric even more.

"Grr...You!" Eric suddenly moved and threw a kick at Mishal, hoping to hit him to vent his frustrations.

Mishal, however, didn't seem to care about the foot coming straight at him, and he had a valid reason.

*Bam*

"Taking on the master already? I haven't taught you anything yet." Mishal sighed, shaking his head as he lifted Eric off the ground by his leg, holding him up as if he weighed next to nothing.

Because he was way stronger.

Mishal had waited until Eric's foot was in range, and instantly caught Eric by the leg with his free hand. He did it all from a sitting position while cooking!

"W-what the?! Hey, put me down!" Eric was surprised how effortlessly Mishal stopped him, but still, he wanted nothing to do with the fedora-wearing bastard.

Melanie was worried about Eric, but it seemed like Mishal wasn't a bad guy. So she focused her attention back on Dratini, who she was feeding Pokefood Mishal specially made. "Is it good?" She asked with a warm smile.

[Dratini~] Dratini nodded, squeaking happily as it munched on the food given to it.

Even Eric's Pokemon were enjoying the food made by Mishal and felt as if they were in paradise.

"You're weak, kid. Extremely weak. You may be stronger than most, but... You'll end up making a mistake sooner or later and then... You'll die." Mishal warned somberly. He couldn't quite understand, but strangely he felt death looming over the kid like a predator waiting to strike in the night. 'This kid will be my successor! I won't let him die! Besides... I don't have much time left... Right Sera?'

Eric suddenly stopped struggling, and Mishal took that as a sign to gently let him go. He then slowly got up to his feet and stared directly into Mishal's eyes, "I didn't come to this world to be a cook... So, I'll never agree. I'm sorry I can't be your successor..."

'At first, I just wanted to play around and follow in Ash's footsteps, having crazy adventures. But now... Why do I so strongly want to be a Pokemon Master more than ever?... It doesn't matter now... It's what I want most in this world!"

"You..." Mishal was stunned by Eric's decision as he could tell that he was serious just by looking in his eyes. "Fine... I'll give up for now. But.."

Eric raised an eyebrow, "But?"

*Bam*

It was so fast that Eric could only see a blur before he felt immense pain coming from his stomach. He then looked down at what hit him and found out that it was a fist.

Mishal had punched him!

"Guh..." Eric stumbled backward, gripping his stomach as he struggled to keep the contents of his stomach inside.

"Eric!" Melanie went wide-eyed after witnessing Eric being hit and quickly stood up to help him. However, she was stopped by a single glare by Mishal.

Cold...

Melanie felt extremely cold as if she was left to die in a devasting blizzard. She was unable to move a single inch as Mishal's red eyes locked onto her.

[Pika...] [Cha..] [C-chaar...] [Eevee..., however, Pokemon wanted to defend him, but even they were afraid by Mishal

[Pi..ka! Pikachu!] Pikachu, however, was able to snap out of their fear and rush over to its trainer. It then started to growl as electricity seeped out of its cheeks.

Mishal was surprised that a little Pokemon like Pikachu was able to move. 'Interesting..'

"W-what was that for?" Eric stuttered. He didn't know why, but a voice told him to run away. His instincts were screaming in his head, 'Danger! Danger! Danger!'

"Fight me."

"Huh?"

"Fight me, Eric."

---------

It's been several hours since the incident with Mishal. Eric was on the ground, covered with awful-looking bruises all over his body. There were even traces of blood spread across the ground. He was in a terrible state, but yet there was still a fire in his eyes.

Eric was trying so hard to learn what Mishal was trying to teach him, but somehow he couldn't quite get it. He still didn't like the guy, but he was trying to teach him martial arts.

However, it looked more like Mishal was just beating him senseless, but Eric knew better, which is why he continued to get up after he was knocked down over and over again.

"Get up, Eric!" Mishal demanded, kicking boy's side just as he was getting back up, knocking him back down.

"Eric... Please stop. You don't have to do this anymore. Why are you trying so hard?!" Melanie asked as tears filled her eyes.

Eric was silent, gritting his teeth as he willed his injured body back onto his feet. He was dizzy, exhausted, and in so much pain that normally would have made him give up.

But he couldn't...

He needed to stay strong...

And so he took the stance Mishal taught him during the brawl if he could call it that as it was clearly one-sided.

"Keep your back straight. One arm up... One arm down. One foot in front... The other in the back. Now breathe.." Eric talked to himself while he assumed this battle stance, his yellow eyes focusing in on Mishal as they flashed with a strange light.

*Trainer has gained ???*

Eric ignored the alert, letting out a roar as he charged towards Mishal. Once again, he threw a barrage of punches when he was near. Earlier his punching was sloppy, making Mishal want to cry, but now he was surprised. Although they were a bit clumsy, they did show that the boy was beginning to learn!

"Hahaha!" Mishal laughed as blocked and redirected every single one of the blows. He was happy that the boy managed to learn something that would normally take a month.

It wasn't just the stance. The boy was able to control the strength in his arms, each attack with a different purpose, whether it be to injure or stun. He was even able to incorporate his legs into the mix, attacking Mishal's lower body to catch him off balance.

Mishal grinned from ear to ear at the display, "Good! Good! Now faster! You're too slow!" He shouted, knocking Eric back quite a distance with the palm of his hand.

"This time!!" Eric yelled with determination, ignoring the pain as he charged at Mishal, attacking him with a ferocity of an animal.

Right Punch!

Left Punch!

Block!

*Bam*

Mishal knocked Eric back quite a distance with another palm to his gut. "Again!!"

'Faster... I need-'

Suddenly everything went black for Eric collapsing from extreme fatigue.

"Eric!" Melanie rushed to his side, pulling him up to her l.a.p, and leaned in close to check his breathing. 'He's breathing fine...But still...'

It was for only a moment, but Melanie's face showed a look that conveyed her readiness to murder someone.

Badly.

However, that's something she would never do and promptly calmed down.

[Pika!!] Pikachu dashed to its trainer to check on him and immediately started to growl at Mishal. It was told not to interfere by its trainer, but still what Pokemon could watch their trainer be injured to this kind of state!

[Chaar!] [Cha!] [Eevee!!] Eric's other Pokemon were also furious and prepared to attack Mishal.

"Hahaha. Don't worry, he'll be alright. He'll be a bit sore, but he will live." Mishal said, pulling out what looked to be a piece of candy from his pocket. "Give him this, and she should be fine." He tossed it to Melanie, who caught it with one of her hands.

"Alright..." Melanie said with a gloomy sigh.

*Ding! Trainer has suffered moderate damage and must recover. 1 hour until full recovery*

Mishal knew that the kid was strong for his age, but seeing him up after only an hour surprised him.

No!

It terrified him!

'Could I have found the perfect successor? But now how to teach him to cook...' He thought.

The next day was filled with another day of training, but this time Mishal was softer on Eric. He even took the time to point out his mistakes.

Eric was now slowly recognizing Mishal as his master, but he never was going to admit it. He still held a grudge against the guy and had no plans of forgiving him any time soon.

Later that day, Eric started to train with his Pokemon after his light spar with Mishal. He took them deep inside the jungle to challenge wild Pokemon.

But then he suddenly had an idea to make his Pokemon stronger. However, before he could do anything, he spotted something taking a swim in a small secluded pond.

"Time for the fifth team member!" Eric shouted excitedly, readying an empty Pokeball as he charged forward with his team.
