Time Turner

Chapter 48 - Cathleen

Frans goes back to his home after Henry asking the security to look for a taxi driver. After Henry sat back on the sofa, Aurina smacked her forehead with an embarrassed expression.

"We are such a bad host." She mumbled under her breath. Henry's question her why, then she answered, "We didn't serve him water."

All of the eyes in the room fell on the table. B.a.r.e without anything on it. They really forgot.

"I'll go back to my room." Alfizar was about to stand and avoid Zio's eyes. But looks like Zio wasn't planning to let him go anytime soon.

"Alfizar!" Zio said sternly. "Don't think about avoiding me!" Did his uncle have sixth sense?!

Alfizar ended up falling back to his seat. Then Zio tells Henry and Aurina to go back to their own room, leaving only the two of them to talk.

"I haven't think about it yet." Alfizar then looked at Zio right to his eyes. "But I remember something from the past."

"Something from the past?" Zio's face turned serious. Words like the past usually mean something painful to this family. Since Zio took the children in, they hadn't talked about the past. Not even once before.

Alfizar nodded. He decided to tell his uncle what he knew. And why he won't follow him to move again. Maybe, with him wanting to find out the truth, and be more stubborn, Zio would let him do what he wants to do.

"I don't really remember how old I was back then," Alfizar said as he organized his thought. "But I remember two children, around my age called Har and Vi. I'm very sure that they are Harloz Sweinzrev and Vianzo."

"Don't you think that this much of a coincidence?" Zio said with his eyes narrowed. Zio was about to shoot his bullet by planting the idea to move again in Alfizar's head, but before he could say anything, Alfizar beat him to it.

"But we were the one who transferred in. If it was the other way around, the moment you heard that there was a new transfer student in one of our class, you will immediately take us to another country out of fear that the unknown person we have been avoiding has found us."

That was right, it had happened before. Back then, not even half a year after Zio took them in, there was a new transfer student. Because Zio thought that they have been found and someone tried to slowly get them, he forcefully has them move to another city.

Alfizar knew he can't really convince this father figure. But-

"So far it was us who stumbled on the Sweinzrev. And so far, we know that Sweinzrev was frame and he was probably a good guy. Uncle, I know you have spent a lot of your saving on us, moving around, raising us, making sure we are safe. You have spent a lot on us. Not just money but also time. But we can't do this forever. Sooner or later I'll have to face whoever that person is! And if I could get an ally like the Sweinzrev, then I'm willing to bet."

-Alfizar needed all the ally he could get. He will start with the Sweinzrev, then slowly makes more allies before he snatched back what was taken from him before.

"This is not a gambling game, Alfi." Zio frowned at his last sentence.

"I know. But we might have a better chance to face the unknown, uncle." Alfizar will not back down. "You promise me that one week."

Zio sighed as he just stood up and leave Alfizar alone in the living room.

The next day has finally come. The weather is beautiful, the ground covered by snow but there's no cold wind blowing, and the shining sun warmed them. The cold was not chilling, and the sun was not too hot. If it wasn't snowing yesterday, today will definitely be a really hot day.

Today's weather was just that good, but the atmosphere between the oldest man and the youngest boy in that house was not as good.

Zio was avoiding Alfizar to the point of not coming out from his room saying that he was taking a break from his job to continue his own research. Henry and Aurina shot him a worried look.

Aurina packed the device she might need for infiltrating her way in the database later.

Today is not a school day, and they don't have to go to school either. But for the sake of getting the 5% to make sure of everything, they will go. But Zio was not going to drive them. In the end, they ride Bullet Train.

It didn't take long to arrive at GIPEC. Only 5 minutes and they arrived at a station near Gipec that only take 2 minutes of walked until they reached the gate.

The school is opened, and quite a lot of students walking on the school ground. And Henry said there's a lot more on sports club, while the rest of the club didn't have as much member coming on the weekend.

While they walked towards the Computer Club, they made sure that no one who knew them to see them. Aurina pushed the double door slowly then peeked in looking for anyone in the room.

"Who was there!?" a cautious voice called out from the room. The voice was so familiar to Aurina that she could tell who the owner of the voice without actually seeing their face. It was Cathleen! And the sound of light footsteps steadily coming toward the door.

The three of them were debating whether to just run and come back later or think up an instant solution. But it was not really an option because they need to use the main computer, and Cathleen is in the room!

Suddenly Henry stood up and shoved them to hide behind the door that Henry pulled open.

His nervous smile suddenly turned into an embarrassed smile.

"Uh... Hi?" The girl looked at Henry suspiciously as Henry kept fidgeting on his feet.

"I have never seen you before, you are not a member. Who are you?"

[Next chapter's teaser:

"I see. So far she has no luck in trying to find to the password to make her way in."]
