Chapter 14-2: Punishment

Sheng Laotaitai sighed heavily, her face filled with shame: "Sheng'er, we wronged you." Her son-in-law sent his pair of children to the Sheng family to take care of them, but instead, such an embarrassing thing happened.

Luo Sheng slightly bent her knees towards Sheng Laotaitai and said earnestly: "This matter has nothing to do with others. It was Sheng Jialan who harmed me." The young girl who was really harmed by Sheng Jialan was no longer present.

Luo Sheng sighed inwardly and said in her heart: Miss Luo, I have already taken revenge for you, so you can go in peace. I will also clean up and be responsible for the troubles you left behind. And I want to use this body to meet the people I want to see and do my unfinished business.

Luo Sheng's words made Sheng Laotaitai even more apologetic, and she quickly reassured her: "Sheng'er, don't worry, I won't protect Jialan. She will bear the consequences of her wrongdoings." Luo Sheng nodded slightly: "How Waizumu wants to deal with her is entirely up to Waizumu." With that, Sheng Laotaitai ordered Sheng Jialan to be taken away.

A slight cough interrupted the conversation, causing Sheng Laotaitai's heart to tighten again. "Chen'er, how are you feeling?" she asked with concern. Luo Chen moved his hand and smiled, "Waizumu, don't worry. I'm feeling fine, but I'd like to go back and rest." Sheng Laotaitai hurriedly nodded, "I'll have your biaoge take you back to your room."

"I'll take my younger brother back." Luo Sheng interjected. Luo Chen firmly declined: "No need." After considering for a moment, he didn't want Luo Sheng to misunderstand his intentions and hastily added with a serious expression, "I'm just stating the truth, nothing more. Don't read too much into it."

Luo Sheng decided not to argue with Luo Chen, understanding that his words didn't reflect his true feelings. Sheng Dalang stepped forward and offered, "Biaodi, let me take you back." "We'll also accompany Biaodi," added Sheng Erlang and the others.

In a blink of an eye, half of the people in the room had left. Luo Sheng bid farewell to Sheng Laotaitai, saying, "Waizumu, I'll go back as well." "Go ahead. Jiayu, you can also go back," replied Sheng Laotaitai.

After Luo Sheng and Sheng Jiayu departed, Sheng Laotaitai's expression turned cold. She turned to Sheng Dataitai and instructed, "Once Jialan wakes up, send her to the countryside manor. She is not allowed to interact with others for the rest of her life."

As for evading public scrutiny and marrying someone else after some time, it will not happen. She can't marry off a young girl who can kill someone out of jealousy. Such actions would harm other people. To grow old and spend the rest of her life in seclusion in the countryside is Sheng Jialan's fate.

Sheng Dataitai sighed and, after careful consideration, asked, "Should we consult with Husband[1] about the situation?" Sheng Laotaitai responded impatiently, "Just inform him my decision when he returns." "Understood," Sheng Dataitai replied, though her heart was filled with lingering fear.

She had regarded Sheng Jialan as a companion for her daughter, but little did she know that the girl was a venomous snake. A person who dared to kill someone because of jealousy, what if Jiayu lost her life one day because of offending her?

Speaking of which, she owes it to Miss Luo. Sheng Dataitai's impression of Luo Sheng secretly improved a bit.

Sheng Laotaitai issued another instruction, "Aside from the servants in my courtyard who are already aware of today's events, ensure that this incident does not spread outside." Everyone in the hall nodded in agreement, and the ruckus was considered resolved.

Instead of returning to her residence, Luo Sheng went to Luo Chen's residence. She encountered Sheng Dalang and the others preparing to leave at the courtyard gate after escorting Luo Chen back.

"Biaomei came to visit your brother?" Sheng Dalang greeted her first, while Sheng Erlang looked slightly awkward and even forgot to wave his gold-painted folding fan.

Luo Sheng slightly bowed to the four of them and expressed her gratitude, "Thank you, Biaoge, Biaodi, for sending my brother back." Without pausing, Luo Sheng continued walking past the four of them and made her way directly to the room.
