Chapter 54. Thoughts

Just a day after his audition, Ren was officially casted as the male lead of the drama.

Although Ren was really happy after hearing that, he felt that he has got cast too hastily.

Normally, production houses would take at least a week to finalise a casting.

"Don't you think it's weird that I got the role so suddenly."

Ren asked Jiang Wan who was drinking coffee in front of him. They were currently resting in the lounge area.

"Well, you can think it's sudden but I heard that the higher ups were pressuring Arc production to quickly cast people and Director Fu also liked your acting and pushed for you."

"Yeah, I heard that he was excited to shoot with you."

"Isn't it great that you got cast as the male lead of a drama? I remember playing several roles before I can play a main character. It looks like you will surpass me soon."

Chu Min said as he glanced at Ren with a smiling expression. He was here in the company today and have some free time, so he came to meet Ren.

He wanted to go out for some drinks but he unexpectedly found out that Ren was casted as the male lead in a drama.

He was really surprised and happy about it.

"I can not surpass you even after doing several more movies or dramas. You are currently doing a 100 million dollar movie. How can it compare to my drama."

Ren said to Chu Min as he chuckled.

Chu Min had recently signed a big project and will be shooting for it in international locations like Switzerland and Paris.

Ren can't compare to him currently.

"Anyway, it's really shocking that you are getting a lead role just after doing a movie. It is a thing that doesn't happen regularly."

Jiang Wan said as he chimed in. He wanted Ren to not get arrogant and worked hard for the role.

Arrogance is a thing that can destroy your career in a second and it is mostly seen in young actors, he didn't wanted Ren to become arrogant just because he got the lead role.

"I don't think you should worry about something like that, Brother Wan. I don't think Ren would change even if he reached Hollywood."

"Well, I am just reminding him to not to get arrogant."

"Oh, yes, Ren, the Whiz stars broadcast is also this week, right."

As they were talking, Chu Min suddenly asked as he remembered that the Whiz stars broadcast in which Ren was going to feature was on sunday this week.

"Yeah, it is on sunday. I am pretty nervous about it though."

Ren said as he sipped his coffee. Honestly, he was pretty nervous about the show.

He wondered if the audiences would like the broadcast. He would also feel bad if he got edited out completely.

"Really?"

Ren asked as he tilted his head and stared at Jiang Wan but White bear answered instead.

"Yeah, we are thinking of gaining the momentum from the show to promote «The stars above». We have already talked with Arc production and they are very happy about it."

White bear said as he turned towards Ren.

"Well, it will make the drama get a buzz for sometime. By the way, have they already finished casting for the other roles."

"No, it's look like they need some more time. Although they have cast the female lead and the other actors, then still have not found someone to play the role of the main lead's sister."

'So, the role is still empty.'

Ren thought when he heard that Arc production still haven't casted the female sister character.

When he thought about the male lead's sister in the drama, his mind started overlapping her figure with Xiao Rin.

Ren was sure that she could gain recognition from the drama but there were some problems with his thoughts.

He didn't knew if Xiao Rin would be interested in the role. Although he felt that she would not refuse him if he asked her but there was still a chance of Xiao Rin not liking the role.

Second, he didn't knew what would be the company stance on this. Ren knew that they were preparing for her debut but it was next year.

If he suddenly said that he wanted her to play the role of his little sister in the drama, everybody would think that he was strange.

He also have to make sure that she passed the audition but he was pretty sure that she will pass it.

He was sure of it.

'I should get her to read the script first.'

Ren thought as he made some plans in his mind. Before starting anything, he wanted to meet Xiao Rin and discuss about the script first.

"Hey Ren, what happened?"

Ren said when Chu Min called out to him. He was in a trance as he was making his plans.

"You should get yourself together. We were thinking of going to a restaurant to celebrate you getting cast as the male lead."

"Ah, a restaurant! Sorry, but I will skip it this time."

Ren said as he shook his head. He wanted to go the restaurant but he has other things to take care of first.

"What? Why?"

"Well, just like Chief Jiang said, I am still a rookie actor and getting cast as the male lead is a big thing. I think I should practice more for my role."

"Uh, well, we can't force you if you want to practice your role. Let's go after your drama airs."

"Yeah, it will be my treat."

Ren said as he slipped out of the lounge area. No one stopped him.

He felt that Ren was anxious because of the role and wanted to practice hard for it.

No one knows that Ren didn't went to the practice room but the trainees area.

He wanted to implement his plan as soon as possible since there is not much time left.
