Chapter 55. Distance

'I have to work hard.'

Xiao Rin thought as she wiped the sweat on her forehead. She was drenched in sweat because of practising for too long.

She was currently in a practice room, practising different kinds of roles. Although it was hard, she was very happy doing it.

It was because she can freely act now, she has now again entered the acting course and was enjoying every classes.

After the matter about her bullying was revealed, everyone involved with it were suspended. The senior who used to harass her was nowhere to found.

There were many rumours like she joined another agency or she gave up on acting but Xiao Rin choose to ignore them.

It was because she don't have much time to think about it. She now has a promise to fulfil along with her dream.

'Let's work together someday.'

She was now practising more than what she used to do before, just because she quickly wanted to work together with Ren.

She felt that she would not be able to catch up to him if she wasted time. She have to debut quickly, so that she can work on different movies and dramas with Ren.

It was her greatest wish right now and she felt that her dream will be fulfilled soon enough.

She has been garnering various praises from her instructors and everyone was saying that she will debut soon with her current performance.

Although her relationsh.i.p.s with most of the trainees was awkward, she didn't think much about it.

The only thing in her mind was to quickly debut and work together with Ren.

As she was thinking about practising for another half an hour, the door to the room suddenly opened.

She thought it would be an instructor who had come but the one who entered the room greatly surprised her.

It was Ren who had entered the room.

Ren said as he smiled. He has come to the practice room because he has a feeling that Xiao Rin would be here.

"Ah, Brother Ren. What are you doing here?"

Xiao Rin said with a surprised expression. She didn't expect to meet Ren here and it looks like he had come specifically to meet her.

She felt warm thinking about it.

"Can't I come to meet you?"

"No, no, it's not that. I was just surprised."

Xiao Rin said as she shook her head.

"You are really diligent, huh. You are still here even after the training hours are over."

"No, I am just doing what I can do."

Ren said as he glanced at Xiao Rin clothes which were full of sweat.

Noticing his gaze, Xiao Rin suddenly felt embarrassed. Her face became a little red as she lowered her head.

"Actually, I came to meet you because I wanted to talk about something."

Ren said as he noticed the atmosphere becoming awkward and Xiao Rin also cleared her thoughts as she replied.

"Ah, what is it?"

"Actually, I wanted to show you something."

"What??"

"This."

Ren said as he passed her the screenplay for the first episode of «The stars above».

Xiao Rin said with a surprised expression as he held the screenplay in her hands.

It was the first time she was holding a real screenplay, that's why she was surprised by it so much.

"Yeah, it's the screenplay for a drama that is going to air in February."

"Is this your next project?"

Xiao Rin said as she looked at Ren with a strange expression. She was wondering why Ren was showing her the screenplay.

"Yeah, it's a project I would be doing soon. I am playing the male lead in this drama."

Xiao Rin was surprised when she heard that and her curiosity in the screenplay increased when she heard that.

But more than that, there was another thought in her mind.

'Brother Ren is going to play the male lead.'

Although she was really happy for Ren, she also felt that the distance between them was increasing at a fast rate.

She felt sad when she thought about that but she ignored her thoughts.

"You are really amazing, Brother Ren. You are going to play the male lead. I am sure you will become a top actor after this drama."

"You are good at flattery but the reason I have come to you is because I want you to read this screenplay and tell me your thoughts about it."

"Read this? Why?"

Xiao Rin said as she tilted her head and asked with a confused expression.

"I just want you to tell me your thoughts about this screenplay."

Ren said as he smiled. He didn't want to tell her right away that he wanted her to play a role in the drama.

He first wanted to know her thoughts about the story.

Xiao Rin said as she flipped the pages of the screenplay. It was a request from Ren, she didn't wanted to deny it.

Moreover, she was extremely curious about the kind of story Ren has choosed for his next drama.

"You can take your time and tell me about it tomorrow, it will take time if you started reading it now."

Ren said as he thought of the time. He knew that there was a curfew for all the trainees living in the dorm.

"You don't have to worry about it, I usually stay late for practising and the dorm manager knows that, so it will not be a problem."

Xiao Rin said as she smiled. Although she knew she would be late if she stayed to read the whole screenplay, she was not willing to part ways with Ren.

Ren was a celebrity and she was just a trainee, who knows if they will be able to meet tomorrow or not.

"I will start reading it."

Xiao Rin said as she started flipping the pages and reading through them.

'I hope she likes it.'

Ren thought as he watched Xiao Rin casually flipping the pages.

Although her actions look casual, Ren can see that there was seriousness in her eyes.

Although her face was expressionless, her eyes were directly telling her thoughts and Ren felt that she was liking the story after seeing her eyes.
