Tori Walker And The Wand Of Light

Chapter 7 - Warlocks of War

Zeril Malfoy appeared in a white space after entering the Magic Simulations Hall. This was a place too vast and completely white everywhere you want to look.

Before Zeril can move to find out the actual distance of the space, suddenly a metallic sound rang out, and a hatch opened from the seemingly white floor. Four round objects flew out from the hatch and floated in front of Zeril.

"Fight with dark creatures," "Fight with warlocks," "Target Practice," "Endurance Training," All four of these were the options to choose what kind of simulations one wanted. There was some text written under the tags. "Choose your simulation and hit it with a spell."

Zeril brought out his wand and waved at the tags, hitting the "Fight with warlocks" tag. A metallic voice was sounded right after Zeril hit the tag. "Your simulation will begin in nine, eight, ... two, one."

Zeril just stood there while the metallic voice was counting the seconds. After the counting finished, with a flash of white light, Zeril appeared in an open ground. There were mountains and fields, the smell of blood reeking in the air, blood of wizards and warlocks.

Zeril was able to guess that this is one of the battlefields from the war the took place years back. He was surprised, not at the battlefield but at how Tori was able to make the simulation take place in the actual battlefield and even make the simulation to such detail as if she had walked by these lands on her own on every single inch. He didn't know, but Tori never visited the battlefield before, but she had resources her father left for her, and those things are the real reason why Tori was able to create a simulation as real as this.

While Zeril was admiring Tori's handiwork, a sharp cry sounded behind a small hill in front of Zeril. A single cry leads to a "few" more. Zeril never saw any warlocks before, but those cry sounded exactly what he heard about warlock foot soldiers. Soon the soldiers were on top of the hill, and they looked disgusting. Zeril had an urge to vomit in the face of soldiers who seemed like bathed in human flesh and blood. He quietly suppressed his urge to vomit and took his wand out.

"Expelliarmus!" A dark beam flew out from his wand and hit one of the warlocks. The warlock flew back and fell over, but the other few dozens of warlocks were not slowed down even a bit by this kind of spell. The warlock who got attacked stood up as if nothing happened to him and waved his hand. When his hand was still on the move, a yellow light covered the side and then with the gesture, the light fell onto the ground.

Zeril was looking curiously at the ground while it suddenly shook and a bony hand suddenly popped out of the ground, and the hand provided leverage for the owner of the hand to get up in the ground. It was a skeleton about six foot tall and held a small dagger in its grasp.

Following that particular warlock, every other warlock also did the same as the one before and performed summoning spell to summon more skeletons. The small army of warlocks suddenly became double.

But Zeril didn't seemed scared but rather a slight smile appeared in the corner of his lips, and he waved his wand.

"Devasticus Omnis!" And a powerful dark beam left the wand and made it's way to the middle of the warlock army and, "Hiss!" A dark flame burst forth and ignited the blood outside the bodies of the warlocks. The flame also ignited the skeletons. It took only a few minutes before all of the warlocks were reduced to ashes.

'This simulation is very easy,' while he thought about this and was ready to store his wand back into his pocket he heard sounds of people running on a rocky hill and before he could even process what was happening, now in front of him was a pack of warlocks. This time the number is three times compared to the last time. All the warlocks performed the same spell as before and summoned a skeleton each. They then ran toward Zeril with a sharp battle cry.

"Devasticus Omnis!" Zeril again performed the flame magic and set everyone on fire. But the fire was not fast enough. Before the fire could ignite every single warlock and skeletons, they were already in front of him. He wasn't ready to run, nor did he wanted to run. He is not a coward.

"Circulas Anima." With another wave of the wand, a dark barrier spread from his body and surrounded him. The warlocks all carried weapons like swords, bows, daggers, and some even had modern weapons like guns. But none of those were able to harm the barrier, even the slightest. Before they could find a way, his attackers were already ignited and were screaming like hell. All these screams made even his heart racing.

"Sigh" Zeril was amazed by the difficulty of this situation, and again to his surprise, another group of warlocks appeared on top of the hill. This time the total amount was nine times compared to the first time. This time it was hard, but Zeril was able to kill all of the warlocks with the help of his magic. He was exhausted but wasn't ready to give up.

Another group of people arrived on top of the hill, and this time it wasn't the normal warlocks. They were only six of them who wore black robes. While you were able to find traces of blood and flesh in the cloth and bodies of typical warlocks, these fellas clothes were spotless and shiny.

All six of them looked at Zeril and raised their hands. A purple light fell onto the ground from their magic fusion, and this time, the ground shook very hard. A colossal hand broke past the ground, and a huge body of twelve-foot came out of the ground. It carried a massive club and was slowly approaching Zeril.

But the warlocks were not finished they again raised their hands, and a big round of fire surrounded Zeril within that. This was an attempt to trap Zeril in the area and get attacked by the giant monster. The giant was closing in on Zeril step by step and finally reached him. It raised its club and hit the barrier. Zeril was a bit scared and wasn't very sure that his barrier could stop and attack of that category. He jumped to the side, but surprisingly, the barrier stood still without any sign of breaking. Zeril smiled after seeing that. He soon cast the dark flame spell again and set the body of the giant on fire. Soon he also finished the enemies standing on top of the hill. It was tough for Zeril to continue after a few more rounds. After he died and felt the worst kind of pain possible, he returned in the white space with the tags. His heart was still racing hard, and his legs and hands were shaking like crazy. The feeling of death is horrible. He sat down and looked at the tags. After a few moments, he braced himself and chose the same tag again.
