Chapter 6: You Want Coffee?

“Hi, Beatrice!”

Thulhu greeted her first.

He had to admit that Beatrice was indeed very beautiful. She had green eyes and long, soft hair. Her skin was very fair, like milk, and she also had a very nice figure.

Thulhu looked down on himself for that, but it was true that most men were visually-inclined creatures.

At least, most men would feel that a beauty was pleasing to both the eye and the mind.

However, Beatrice was frowning, and the look on her face was slightly contemptuous. “So… What do you want? Why do you want to see me?”

“What?”

Thulhu frowned. “Didn’t you ask me to meet you here?”

He knew something was wrong, and he started to feel uneasy.

Beatrice raised her nice-looking nose slightly.

“Thulhu, I told you. You and me, impossible! Don’t even try.”

Beatrice was indeed arrogant, Thulhu thought to himself. He now no longer had any romantic thoughts in his mind at all. Instead, the uneasy feeling grew stronger.

A breeze blew through the window.

And somehow, the door of the room shut silently.

The look on Beatrice’s face relaxed a bit and she sat down in front of Thulhu. The smile which lingered on her lips was mysterious. “Right… Tell me, what kind of surprise do you have for me tonight?”

This wasn’t right…

Thulhu spoke to himself in his mind. He was ready to jump up and run away.

Obviously, both Beatrice and Thulhu had been tricked by someone into coming here.

A string of conspiracies was waiting for him; the person doing this definitely wouldn’t stop here.

Thulhu half-stood up.

The wind started to blow even harder.

It now sounded almost terrifying.

Cold air spread out from the window.

Suddenly, the mysterious smile on Beatrice’s face was replaced by fear. What did she see?

It was… a shadow. As if it had a life of its own, it snuck into the room and connected itself to Beatrice’s and Thulhu’s shadows.

Thulhu… couldn’t move at all…

It felt as if his body had been turned to stone. He could think, but couldn’t move at all.

It was the same for Beatrice. Her eyes were of fear and pleading. Right now, it was as if she was a silent statue, and she looked a bit comical.

But Thulhu wasn’t in the mood to laugh at all.

Suddenly, his hand moved of its own accord and grabbed a table knife.

Then, his hand stabbed the knife into Beatrice’s chest.

As if it was someone else’s hand, it was a very powerful stab. The shadow was controlling Thulhu’s entire arm.

Blood gushed out. Beatrice’s face had turned totally pale, but she couldn’t move at all or even release a scream of terror. Finally, the pair of beautiful eyes lost all their luster.

Beatrice was dead…

A breeze blew through the window.

After all that, the black shadow quickly left Thulhu’s shadow and snuck out again through the window.

Thulhu could move now, but he didn’t know what to say. Staring at Beatrice’s body, his mind had gone blank. He inexplicably wondered if she needed a coffee or something.

After a few seconds, Thulhu finally realized what this meant and how serious it was!

Beatrice was dead. A knife was in her chest. There was blood everywhere. After losing so much blood, there was no way she could still be saved.

There were iron railings on the window. No one could come in that way.

Therefore, Thulhu was the prime suspect in this crime.

The waiter would tell the police that Thulhu had been waiting for Beatrice the entire afternoon!

Was he going to explain to the police that it was a shadow that killed Beatrice by taking control of his arm? No one would believe him!

Not to mention that his fingerprints were still on the knife in Beatrice’s heart.

The police would have both witness testimony and material evidence. Did he have enough time to get himself an attorney right now?

Thulhu forced himself to calm down. There had to be extraordinary power involved! Had the shadow come for Beatrice or him? Thulhu believed that the answer should be the former.

After all, the shadow had shown no intention of killing Thulhu.

The murderer left Thulhu behind to be the scapegoat.

Becoming a murderer as soon as he graduated wouldn’t be a very good start for Thulhu.

Facing the body and blood on the floor, Thulhu started considering the best solution.

Time was running short.

As a transmigrator, Thulhu more or less didn’t see this world as real, but like it was a game. Thus, he was still able to think right now. He knew that calling the police definitely wasn’t an option, as there was no way for him to prove that he was innocent!

What about running away? All his previous efforts to earn a better life would all be in vain, and the police very likely would still catch him. Maybe he could look to his family for help? But he didn’t have enough time.

What about destroying the body? That way, the murder case would become an investigation into a missing person, so he would have more time. But how?

Destroying a body completely was never easy. So many murderers tried to get rid of the bodies, but in the end were caught by the police.

To do it cleanly, Thulhu had to find a professional crematorium, which was impossible.

Then… There was only one option left for Thulhu – to turn a dead person into a living one! After all, it wouldn’t be a murder case if the victim was still alive.

He approached the window and looked outside. Everything looked rather normal. Maybe the murderer had left.

Thulhu closed the curtains and locked the door. Then, he stared at the skill, Corpse Princess LV1, on the panel.

Using this skill, he could turn Beatrice’s body into a corpse princess. It was outrageous, but it was still better than him becoming a murderer.

He took a deep breath and started drawing the magic circle based on his understanding.

Only two ingredients were needed to create a corpse princess: a fresh female body, and the caster’s blood.

Honestly speaking, Thulhu had no idea if this would work. After all, the success rate was rather low. Also, he didn’t know what to do if it worked.

According to the ritual, all the blood on the floor would be recollected, so the crime scene would be completely hidden. What about the future? For now, Thulhu couldn’t figure it out.

Nothing could be worse than this.

Thulhu picked up a table knife and cut his finger. On Beatrice’s body, whose big frightened eyes were still open, Thulhu started drawing a pentagram.

The pentagram was a very important symbol in this extraordinary world, and represented death as well as the world of the dead.

According to the instructions, matching the points to the dark constellations in the sky would increase the rate of success.

Thulhu had never learned astrology, but he tried his best.

He matched one of the points to the moon in the sky.

In the realm of extraordinary power, the moon represented Yin energy, death, and darkness. Many creatures went out hunting when there was a full moon in the sky. Thulhu had learned this when he studied demon hunting.
