Unlighted Hearts

Chapter 2 - Capitulo Dos - The Prophecy

"I'm where?!"

My jaw almost dropped on the ground when I heard what he said. I couldn't believe it! I'm in the Dark Region!

But how?! The border was cursed by Vexana's spell, it's impossible!

"H-How..." I asked myself. The long-haired man whistled and I gasped when suddenly a black horse showed up in front of us. The main turned his rode his horse and signaled me to follow.

Wait... is he making me walk?!

I sighed in disbelief. This man is plain rude and I already hate him! How could he let a woman walk while he rides the horse? That's just unfair. Plus, I am injured. I just fell from a light orb thingy minutes ago!

I clenched my fist and tried to calm myself as I followed him.

---

"Hey." I called the man. "Hey!" I called again. I'm sure as heck that he can hear me but is just ignoring me. I ran in front of them. The horse stopped and he was looking down at me with his cold heterochromatic eyes.

"What is it?" he asked.

"I've been walking for half an hour now and I'm injured!" I shouted at him. His brows knitted.

"So?"

I scoffed. Did he just say 'so?'

I gritted my teeth and showed him my bruised arm.

"I fell earlier. I'm injured and you're just letting me walk?" I said. I'm really pissed right now, I'm usually not this hot-headed and I'm very patient but now, I'm just really tired and the wounds that I got from falling earlier is already starting to sting.

He raised a brow on me and rolled his eyes. I was about to hiss at him when he offered his hand.

"What are you waiting for? Hop in."

I slowly took his hand and I squealed a little when he suddenly pulled me.

"Hold on tight." he said as he took my hands and wrapped it around his body. My eyes widened and my heart suddenly started beating fast. He looked at me and our eyes met, I immediately looked away.

What did just happened?!

---

More than an hour later we reached a really tall gate. We are welcomed by soldiers carrying large swords. All of them bowed their heads as they opened the gate.

My mouth slightly parted when I saw a castle in front of us. It was old but still beautiful. No place in our Region has a Castle, just plain buildings.

"Woah..." I whispered.

The horse stopped and a soldier guided me down the horse.

"Who's she?" a soldier asked the man beside me.

"She's Lunox, she said she's from the Light Region." the man answered. All of the soldiers looked at me, shock and confusion are written all over their faces.

Gentlemen, I'm just as shock as all of you are.

"Follow me." the man said and I quickly followed him as he made his way into the entrance of the castle.

The castle is just as beautiful as how it looks like from the outside. It is filled with things that I don't know of. There's a giant light full of candles hanging on the ceiling and the walls are filled with ancient paintings. It is like something out of a Fantasy book.

I'm amazed. This is so beautiful.

I was busy looking around the castle when I suddenly bumped into the man's back. He turned his back on me and rolled his eyes. I raised a brow on him and moved to his side.

"Leomord, what do we have here?" I looked at the man beside me. Leomord huh? So that was his name.

"My Queen Alice, this woman is Lunox, she said that she's from the Light Region."

The 'Queen' squinted her eyes and approached me.

"Umm... hello?" I greeted her. I don't have any knowledge of how to greet a Royal! The Royals in our region are Guinevere and Lancelot but both of them forbid me to speak with them formally.

"You're from the Light Region? H-How did you cross the Death Border?"

"I seriously have no idea Madame, I-I was just transported here by some weird light. The Light Region was under attack by the Spawns of the Underworld--" My eyes widened as I remembered what happened before the light brought me here.

"Oh no! My friends are there! The Region is under attack! I need to be there!" I was panicking when the Queen suddenly snapped her finger that stopped me from moving.

"A light orb you said?" Queen Alice asked me. I nodded my head for I couldn't talk. What's happening?

"Pardon me for stunning you, I needed to do that to stop you from panicking." she said before snapping her fingers again.

"So your Region was under attack by the Spawns?"

"Yes."

The Queen slowly nodded her head.

"Lunox? Was it? Don't worry child, we'll do our best to find a way to bring you back to the Light Region. You should rest."

I nodded my head. The Queen faced Leomord this time.

"Bring her to the physician. She's wounded."

"Yes my Queen." Leomord said while bowing his head.

"Follow me."

---

"You're that girl from the Light Region right?" the female physician suddenly talked while treating my wounds.

"Yes." I answered.

"How's it like there? Is it the same here?"

"It's the same as here but some of the things are different here. I saw a lot of things that I have no knowledge of and it's brighter there." I said while looking at her.

"It's bright there?"

I nodded my head.

"It's just like how my parents told me." she said. "My ancestors told our predecessors about what happened centuries ago. The story's been passed on to our generation. They said that before Vexana wreaked havoc to our world, the light and dark bloods lived in harmony. The two regions shared the same sky."

"Yeah..." I've read some books from the School of Magic's Grand Library about the history of the two regions written by our ancestors. The Light and Dark blood shared resources and the world was at peace.

"I wish I could see the two regions united before I die." She smiled but I could see the sadness in her eyes. "Done, you should rest Lunox." she said as she exited the room I was in.

I slowly rested my body on the top of the large bed and closed my eyes.

....

"The Twilight Goddess has been transported to the Dark Region just like the prophecy said."

"Does she know about the Light yet?"

"Not yet."

"Then I should go and kill her before she does."
