Chapter 3 - Capitulo Tres - The Festival

I was awaken by the sound of loud footsteps outside my room. I rose from the bad I was sleeping and quickly opened the door just enough for me to take a peak of what's happening outside.

My lips parted when I saw people wearing beautiful sets of long dresses and coats walking on the hallway. All of them are designed with precious glittering stones; some are gold and diamond. Man, woman--all of them are dressed formally as if there's a festival.

"Woah..." I whispered under my breath.

"Hello milady." I gasped when a heard a small voice below me. It was a blonde-haired kid with a tail wearing a beautiful fluffy maid dress.

"Oh... hi there." I greeted her and sat so I can talk with her eye to eye.

"Good morning milady. My name's Nana, I'm the Clockwork Maid of this Castle. The Queen has appointed me to dress you up today for the welcoming festival."

My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Welcoming festival?

"It's for you milady, the Queen has announced to the whole Dark Region that you have come from the Light Region. The people were shocked when they heard the news about you and now wants to see you." she said as she walked pass through me. Nana looks like a child but her mind and the way she talk sure is not of a child's. The way she moves, the way she talks is definitely m.a.t.u.r.ed.

"Come here milady." She said as she opened the box she was bringing earlier. From that box, she took out a bottle and a fabric. "Wash yourself, the washroom is just right behind that door." she pointed the door behind me. I nodded my head. "After you're done washing yourself, come back here and I'll fix you up." she said then smiled at me. I smiled back at her.

After I finished washing myself, I immediately approached Nana who's waiting for me near my bed. I stood up and approached Nana. She patted the chair and I sat on it. It was facing a beautiful mirror and my reflection is so clear.

"That mirror was a gift from Selena. This mirror is also a tool for transportation to the Abyss." Nana said while combing my hair.

Nana dressed me up and fixed my hair in a very short period of time.

I look pretty... woah.

"This dress is from the Queen herself. She calls it the Bloody Mary. The beautiful fabric used for this dress is from a rare tree near the Dungeon."

I nodded my head as I looked at my reflection on the mirror. The dress doesn't feel uncomfortable, it fits me very well, I can feel the fabric hugging my curves perfectly.

"Thank you so much Nana for helping me."

"It's my p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e to be at your service milady. The Phantom Knight will be arriving here soon to escort you to the Festival Area. I should take my leave now." Nana said and then bowed her head. She then left the room carrying the box she was carrying earlier.

Minutes later, the door opened. It was Leomord. He was wearing a formal armor-like attire. It was black with a touch of red. Our eyes locked for a few seconds when he entered the room. I quickly looked away.

There it is again! The weird feeling inside my stomach!

I bit my lower lip. I heard Leomord clearing his throat.

"Let's go, everyone is waiting for you." He said before leaving the room. I raised a brow. Doesn't he have anything nice to say to me? Don't I look pretty?

I rolled my eyes and followed him outside.

We were walking down the hallway and we're about to reach the entrance to the Grand Hall where the Festival's being held at when Leomord suddenly stopped.

"You look beautiful." He said without turning his back and then continued walking. I can feel my blood rushing all over my face. I pat both of my cheeks. My face suddenly felt so hot and I can feel the funny feeling inside my stomach again. My heart started beating so fast.

Get a grip Lunox! He just complimented you!

I slapped myself and calmed myself as I followed him.

"Here she is! Everyone! Welcome Lunox from the Light Region!" The Queen said with a smile on her face. The people looked at me while clapping. Some of them are smiling from ear to ear but most of them are looking at me like I'm something out of this world.

I'm just from the Light Region... I still look like you guys. I want to say to them.

I was walking towards the Queen when a tall woman wearing an eyepatch on her left eye with violet-ish long hair, carrying a large sniper blocked my way. She was looking down on me.

"How did you get pass through the border?"

I opened my mouth and was about to answer when Leomord walked in front of me.

"Get out of our way Lesley."

Lesley squinted her eye. "No." She said with finality in her voice. "What if she's a spy of Vexana?"

My mouth parted. I'm a what?!

"No! Certainly not! We, the people from the Light Regions despise Vexana." I said, almost shouting. I glared at her and she smirked.

This woman!

"Lesley, stop it." The Queen, Alice spoke.

"But my Queen-"

Alice shook her head. Lesley rolled her eye and stepped away. We're still glaring at each other.

"She's the Royal Assassin, it's her job to be suspicious of everyone. She trusts no one except her own brother and the Queen. Stop glaring at her." Leomord whispered to me. I sighed and nodded my head and followed Leomord to the Queen's direction.

"Lunox. I apologize in behalf of Lesley--" I immediately cut off her words by slowly shaking my head. I then smiled. "It's alright." I said. The Queen smiled at me.

"Lunox's appearance here in the Dark Region proves that there are still life in the Light Region and they are well and still looks like us. They have not succ.u.mbed to Vexana's darkness like the rumors said." The Queen spoke in front of the Hall. "Lunox did not come here to harm the people. In fact, she doesn't even know how she got passed through the cursed border."

The whispers of the people filled the Hall. I gulped. I wasn't looking at the people but I can feel their gazes piercing through my soul. I gasped when suddenly I felt someone leaning near my neck.

"Don't worry, they're just looking at you because they're still confused but I swear no one will hurt you in this region as long as I'm here."

My heart suddenly started beating so fast. I nodded my head and faced the crowd.

After introducing me to everyone, the welcoming festival continued and the people started gathering around me. Asking me normal questions such as how does the Light Region look like and how do we live there.

"Are there any Royals there? Any castles?" a small boy with cat ears asked me in an excited manner. I chuckled.

"We don't have any castles there but we do have buildings. The Royals live in Labyrinths." I answered. He was shaking his tail like an excited cat.

I WANT TO BRING HIM HOME!

"Harith, calm yourself." A blonde-haired man patted Harith's head. I chuckled.

"I apologize. Harith gets excited when he discovers new things. By the way, my name's Alucard." He said and offered his hand to me. I took his hand and gasped when he suddenly leaned forward and kissed my hand.

"Nice to--" my words were immediately cut off when someone grabbed my hand away from Alucard. It was Leomord. I looked at him and he seems pissed.

"The Queen is calling for you." he said then he pulled me closer to him.

"Why are we outside?" I asked Leomord. I'm really confused. He just pulled me away from Alucard and brought me outside. I thought the Queen was calling for me?

"Don't be too close with Alucard. He's already with Miya."

"Uhh, okay?" I raised a brow. "Can I go in now?"

"I know you're not comfortable with those people surrounding you. I brought you outside to let you breathe and you still want to go in there again?"

Well....

I pouted my lips.

"Hey." Leomord called for me.

"What?" I looked at him. He was riding his horse.

"Wanna ride?"

I smiled and quickly nodded my head.

Leomord smiled and there goes my heart again.

"When are you planning to kill her?"
