Unloved: The Abandoned Beauty

Chapter 7 - It was Bobo!!

Successfully standing up without awakening the chimp, the second thing which Colette had realised was that this chimp closely resembled her Bobo.

Having a tinge of expectation Colette inspected the chimp in greater detail.

'Bobo had mark under his eye,' which Colette believed to be a scar from another chimp that had perhaps attempted to harm him, she had only made this assumption after she did some research on apes.

Using the power of the internet she found out that chimpanzees sometimes eat their young, so she assumed that something along those lines had happened to Bobo.

That he was almost...eaten alive!!

Upon discovering this fact in her last life, she had almost screamed aloud from shock because while she was researching she happened to stumble on a video of the chimps fighting for territory and what they had done to their fallen enemies from the opposition troop....was quite gruesome.

'Oh! There's the familiar mark, this really seems like Bobo but a simple mark is not enough to determine if this is my Bobo.'

Afterall, she had seen many other young chimps in this life which contrasted what happened before.

Colette remembers that there was only Bobo sighted initially, after about a year though she started seeing more young chimps however, all of them were much younger than Bobo. There were no young chimps that seemed to be around his age, which means that they had all gone missing.

'Again, where did all the other young chimps go? Surely, there had to be ones around Bobo's age and I doubt that the a.d.u.l.t chimps would cannibalise such a large amount of chimps...ARGH! So complicated, it's making my brain hurt.

I'll just return the chimp to his family, it's best to not get too involved with them in this life. I'll be a kind and selfless person who returned their missing child to them!! I'll just try and keep away from them after, avoid them whenever I see them. Easy!'

But little did she know that her life on the island would be greatly impacted by the troop of chimps over the next few years.

'Anyway, the important thing is that I find where they are currently nested and return this young one to his family. They must be worried sick looking for him. While my family, chose to let me die in the middle of the ocean.' *sigh*

Colette tried to recall where the troop of chimps were located on the island, luckily, she remembered and swiftly made her way there.

However, her low stamina was still a problem as her body was unfit and malnourished from the mistreatment of her family.

....after walking some time...

Colette had finally made it to what would be equivalent to an entrance area.

If she followed this path it would lead her to their nesting area.

Oddly enough she felt strangely nervous, wondering if they would jump towards her madly in an attempt to collect their young from her or begin plotting her death through various traps for coming in contact with their young.

Colette hadn't been this nervous in a while not since the time she went to find out the gender of her unborn child...

She felt tears welling up in her eyes, at the thought of her unborn child that died in a cruel and unjust way, she felt her blood l.u.s.t rising for revenge again. But regained her calm as she looked down at the young chimp in her arms, her eyes softening.

Reminding herself that she was stuck on this island with no way out, meaning no way to get revenge.

Colette took a deep breathe and pushed the thoughts to the back of her mind, slowly continuing onwards to find the other chimps.

'Step-by-step slowly, one foot in front of the other.' She reminded herself.

*Badump* *Badump*

Her heart pounded with nervousness as she proceeded.

'Is it to late to turn back? Should I just leave this chimp here? Surely they'll be a chimp wondering around and find him... AH! But what if they eat him instead... Colette, why are you chickening out, you've faced greater danger and yet this is what you're scared of?? Toughen up girl, deep breath'

*inhale* *exhale*

Looking up she lifted her foot resolutely to march in and finish the job and leave.

However, with her keen sense sound she heard rustling among the trees, there was no wind, it could only mean they had become aware of her presence.
