Unloved: The Abandoned Beauty

Chapter 9 - Well this is weird.

"Colette, I'm sorry but I have to leave for the next month. I promise I'll be back, to look after you and our baby, so be good. Take good care of yourself and our baby." The man speaking was blurry but even from just his outline you can tell that he was very handsome.

After he said those lines he smiled sweetly, it was strange though, his smile was able to shine through the blur and was seen clearly.

The man stood under a roof as rain poured down masking his surroundings with a dull grey colour. Slowly, he became clearer and much more vibrant compared to his surroundings, standing out. However, as his features were becoming clearer, another figure had suddenly appeared beside him and man went back to being blurry. The focus on the man had been disrupted by the appearance of the new person, a she.

Truthfully, it disappointed Colette when she was unable to see his appearance. There was something magnetic about the man that drew her in, he also gave her an intense feeling of familiarity.

"Leo...I will, you need to return no matter what. Our promise, don't you dare forget or else I won't forgive you if you do!" this time the figure of a young woman appeared, also very blurry.

The two figures continued to exchange words all the while Colette watched with a strong sense of déjà vu.

Most importantly, it was her voice that came from the woman! Colette was very confused, why did the scene feel so familiar yet so foreign?

The couple then embraced each other for the last time before the man walked through doors behind them waving good bye. She felt a surge of warmth welling up in her c.h.e.s.t when she watched them hug, though she couldn't help but feel lonely...

The view of his back looked like a great wall that would protect her from harm and bring her warmth.

It was like she was watching through a screen, though Colette wanted to run after the man, she couldn't. He walked further and further away, watching him walk through the doors gave her a sense of foreboding urgency, she was unsure why.

Her surrounding spun and brought her to a new setting....

"Leo! Tell me, why have you changed after you came back from ----- ---? You don't love me anymore? You don't want our baby anymore?? Why have you turned so cold!?" The blurry woman asked in a pained voice.

The woman sat on the floor in a pleading manner, one hand clutching her stomach and another on the floor, supporting her body.

Again it was like watching T.V, Colette could only watch as the woman suffered from the neglect of the man. It was torture to her, no matter man or woman they should be treated with respect, Colette wanted to jump in and punch the lights out of the man. He stood aloofly, watching the woman with unfeeling eyes as she sat on the cold floor left to cry. What more, she was preggies!

Alas, she could not take action, she could only be a bystander to this. Even if she wanted to move and help the poor woman up it was like she was frozen in place.

"I don't know a b**ch like you." the man scoffed coldly as he glanced at the woman, his glance was akin to looking at a bug. Turning his back on the woman, it resembled a tall icy mountain, carrying no warmth as it did before. Walking away he mumbled something inaudible under his breath.

-dream end-

"No! Don't go!! You can't leave me like thi-" Colette jolted up gasping for air.

Dishevelled, she frantically attempted to get up, out of instinct and started to inspect her surroundings. She was greeted with the sight of lush greenery and tall canopy trees shooting high up, providing shade.

At her sudden movements a few chimps nearby cautiously approach her, they made a few grunts and watched her curiously.

While Colette attempted to gain understanding of her current situation, she was unsure about the dream and unsure of what life was.

'Uhh...What?? ... Where did that jerk go!? How dare he mistreat that pregnant woman like that? Where is his humanity, to leave her on the floor, what a jerk! Tch.' Clearly Colette was once again not prioritising her current situation but instead pondering on her strange 'dream'.

'If I ever meet that guy, he's getting a piece of my mind.' Getting overly riled up, Colette started to roll up her sleeve and envision herself beating the guy up. (*facepalms*)

As she did so, some more chimps approached her and presented her with a few mangoes. Their actions bought her back to the real world and out of the boxing ring with the man from the dream.

She picked up the mango and inspected it before deciding to munch into it. The mango juices dripped to her chin and a wave of sweetness invaded her taste buds, unconsciously causing her to smile.

Finally fully awake and alert, she started to recollect what had last happened before she blacked out. Colette found that it was already the early morning of the next day, from looking at the position of the sun in the sky .

'Day 2 of repeating time.' She thought to herself with a sigh.

She came to the conclusion that she had passed out due to hunger and exhaustion. After all, she technically only arrived the day before, surprised with her own endurance for not collapsing earlier.

She casually glanced at a few chimps from the corner of her eyes as she saw them make a few noises and nudged each other, catching her attention.

"Hee, told you this creature would eat it! It ate so many the day before, of course it would eat it again. hee hee Let's call it Mango Monster!" The first chimp mused.

"Keh, more importantly, what are we going to do with it? It saved young Bo, but so what. It's so ugly Keh, where is it's luscious hair covering the body, this n.a.k.e.d thing is unsightly. Keh!" The second chimp grunted in disapproval.

"Hee, I can't believe actually decided to give our mango as a token of appreciation to the Mango Monster for saving young Bo. They could be sitting in my tummy instead!" joked the first chimp whilst nudging the second chimp, annoying him.

The clueless Colette was being judged by the two chimps, not that she would've cared even if she understood.

'Well this is weird, am I in imminent danger or what?' Colette questioned as more chimps appeared, most brought with them a mango or some other tropical fruit. They approach her and place the food close to her before quickly scampering off, leaving her puzzled.

She now had a mountain of mangoes and a few other fruits in front of her....
