Veronica: CEO's Underworld Queen

It was 5 in the morning the next day that Veronica woke up, once again, tightly embraced by Rawlf. His arms snaking around her waist as he spoon her on the bed. She had set a schedule that day to meet up with her good friends but that was still later at noon. Knowing as her schedule is free that morning, she decided to indulged herself being embraced by the magnanimous Rawlf Sy.

Rawlf was widely awake minutes before Veronica did but he wanted to take the moment enjoying the feeling of pure bliss having her in his arms. When he felt her stirred, he pretended to be still asleep but tightened his hold on her to prevent her from moving away from him just in case. Last night was he believed, one of the best thing in his life till date. He never understood the importance of human connection if not for her. And that night, he finally was able to experienced it.

It's like having to reached an o.r.g.a.s.m but this time, no s.e.x.u.a.l intecourse. He would rather call it as 'emotional i.n.t.e.r.c.o.u.r.s.e'. 'Right, most befitting word. Rawlf felt accomplished coining that term.

Rawlf sensed Veronica had woken up because of the changes in her breath's rythm but what made him happy was the fact that she didn't move out of his arms but rather stayed until she fell back to sleep. Veronica is simply, the most chill person he'd ever meet.

No extra drama. She seemed to have achieved this phase of zen where she didn't bother to waste her energy on things. It's like she's living in a philosophical ways. All things that make her felt good are good so why complicate it. As long as it doesn't overstep anyone's comfort, it's good. If last night it's with another kind of woman, for sure, he'll have to faced a lot of drama and gasping episodes. But it's not like it mattered to him though, as long as it's her, he would never mind getting acquainted with her many colours.

He was already looking forward seeing an angry or pouting Veronica,annoyed Veronica, bubbly Veronica, excited Veronica, all things Veronica. Maybe little buns that look like Veronica will be cute too. Rawlf himself was now alarmed by how possessive and obsessed he had become of her. Maybe he needed to take time and go on meditate on this, he thought.

Sensing as Veronica fell back to sleep, Rawlf carefully moved not to wake her up to start his day and prepare for his office.

'Vivi, you just don't know how worried had we been after you and your family vanished like thin air. More on with the fact that none of us could contact you! But you never even tried to contact us at least to inform us you were safe!' Yvette said in angry manner yet her voice is laced with sincere worry.

'Yvette!' The rest, Pearl, Rose, Paola, Floyd and Gedmaire synchronized but were undeniably agreeing on Yvette's last sentence.

Veronica sighed looking at her friends who were also looking at her, their faces screamed for an explanation from her. 'I know it's ins.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e of me but I am not trying to justify my past actions. It's just that I guess, everything was all too sudden and the mess was all over the place.. aside from that, I was unconcious from a comma for almost a month'. Veronica tried to be sincere explaining things to her friends but leaving another tragedy that had befallen her when she was seven months pregnant so as not to worry them more.

The same incident she also was trying hard to forget. The same incident that enlightened her of the ugliness of the real world. Also the same incident that pushed her to be stronger and powerful and forced her in the underworld.

The heavy conversation with her friends continued on for another two hours and alas, Veronica almost caught up with her friends' lives and at the same time, them with hers, minus Rawlf, her twins, and the underworld. The first two were for another lengthy conversation. The last one, well, better to keep it a secret from them for a lifetime.

'So you wanted to find a good spot for a cafe?' Rose asked brimming with her entrepreneur mode.

'Hm yes.'

'Vivi.' Rose said in a warning voice.

'Okey fine.' Veronica said holding both hands in the air making the rest including Rose giggled. 'Actually, the cafe is just a fascade but what I really wanted to establish was a law firm. That's why I've been looking for a building perfect for that.'

'You could have said much earlier you know. ' Rose teased. 'I think I could have you rent one building my company owned. The location is perfect for what you have in mind,.... only if we really both were thinking of the same thing,.... commercially,' Rose winked at everyone earning a gasped from the ever reserved Pearl and chuckles from the rest.

'Wow friend, I still can't help being awed by this new you. What had the business world ever done to the slightly reserved Rose before?' Veronica teased and continued, 'Rather, how about considering selling the building to me?' Veronica negotiated.

Everyone's eyes widened after hearing what Veronica had said. Gedmaire was first to recovered. 'So you're super rich now, Miss Wang?' How about hiring us on your law firm.'

Veronica rolled her eyes. 'It's not like I still don't know yet that you, Floyd and Pearl owned the Regula Trium Law Firm.'

'How about considering joining our firm. I mean as one of the owner.' Pearl said in a gentle voice.

'That's a good plan. Besides, the firm had been very successful and sought after by many people in City I. ' Floyd added.

'Friends,' Veronica started. 'I know that you were trying to be as much as accommodating for my sudden return but the law firm I had in mind will only deal with corporations. Regula Trium I believed was established by the three of you to also help those people who are financially incapable of getting lawyers for themselves. Your law firm is but, another benevolent institution. However, mine is for profit and profit alone.' Veronica said in relax tone. But the more the relax her voice was, the more her friends could sense the changed in her. What had happened to their bubbly friend? They all though in unison.

'Alright then. I'll send someone for you to check the place and if it's to your liking, just contact my secretary right away so it can be process.I would have personally tour you around the area if not only for the fact that I need to attend a business convention in City M tomorrow and I'll be leaving for the city tonight.' Rose right away agreed which made Veronica shakes he head. After everything she went through, she's still fortunate to have good friends who stayed by her side even after all the controversies and years had passed.

'Wiil do. And keep safe. Be sure to find good man there though.' Everyone burst with laughters.
