White Roses Dyed Blood Red

Chapter 4 - Deskmate

1 week later,

"Get up, kids! It's your first day of school!" Yaorui was currently in her twin sisters' shared bedroom all pack and dressed for moving day.

"Hey! Sis, come down for breakfast when you get those two sloths outta bed. We have to go in about half an hour, soo..." Long Ao leaned on the doorway.

"HALF AN HOUR!" The twins and I screamed.

"Yeah, so hurry up if you wanna eat."

The twins quickly scrambled out of bed and ran off into the washroom.

"Nice work brother," I say, giving him a high five.

"What can I say? I'm awesome. But seriously, we only have half an hour."

"Shit. Be right back, I need to check my room to make sure I have everything."

I bolted out of the room and made my way back to mine. Inside my room, I check everywhere, in the bathroom, under my bed, my desk, the zen water fountain. After making sure that I have checked every nook and cranny in my room, I head off to my library to make sure that all my books were packed. Once Yaorui finished her checking, she headed downstairs to join her family (and future family) for breakfast.

"Morning Rui-er,"

"Good morning, sister in law. What?" I faked a dramatic gasp, "Did my brother not propose yet? Shenhui! I thought you would have been more considerate? I left my library for you." I cried.

"Stop it. You're making Fanlong nervous."

"Hmph." I sat down in my seat and began to dig into the food.

This morning for breakfast, the chefs have specially made a traditional dim sum breakfast.

After breakfast, everyone apart from my parents were all packed into one car. Another six cars surrounded ours as part of our security detail. There was a moving truck that was supposed to take all our luggage and furniture to the dorms.

"We're here," Uncle Tang, our driver said. Uncle Tang was a racer when he was in his twenties when he decided to retire and focus more on his family.

A series of thanks and thank yous broke out as we all got off of the car.

"Woahhh," Aishi awed at the modern beauty of her new school. It was her first time seeing the actual school itself since she did homeschooling due to her busy entertainment life.

"Let's go, we have only one day to decorate our dorms and prepare for the Assesment exam as well as look for all of our classes." Yaorui grabbed the back of her sisters backpacks and pulled them towards the girls' dormitory.

"Sister in law Fanlong, what are our dorm numbers?" Anshi asked.

"You two will be sharing a room with one other girl on the third floor with the other first years, in-room...236."

"Than what floor are you and Yaorui Jie stay on?"

"I'm on the fifth floor and sister in law Fanlong will be on the top floor," I answered.

When we got inside the building, I walked towards the front desk to sign in and retrieve our room cards. When we finally reached the twins' dorm, they were practically bursting with excitement. It was their first year here, so it was understandable, but did they even listen when I told them about the Assesment exam tomorrow?

"Your stuff should arrive soon, behave. We don't need to here the other first years complaining about your pranks in the first week. Okay?"

"Yes, sister in law Fanlong," they replied in unison.

"Buh bye. Good luck on the exam tomorrow!" Yaorui said, waving the twins goodbye.

"WE HAVE A TEST!" Yaorui giggled when she heard the two girls' scream.

First day of school

At 4:30 am sharp, Li Yaorui started to gain consciousness. Her mind slowly prepared her for the day. Her feet shuffled towards the bathroom as she continued to wake up. Yaorui turned on the lights, then immediately dimming them so that her eyes could adjust.

She turned on the tap and grabbed her hairbrush, Yaorui put her hair up into a messy bun then proceeded to brush her teeth. It was a habit for her to get up early, she had gone to sleep at 10:00 pm last night after studying a bit.

Once she finished with her morning routine, Li Yaorui proceeded to get dressed.

The school had provided many different uniforms, including dresses, skirts, shirts, pants, etc. All the school uniforms were navy and presented the school's crest on the left side. The students who took pride or interest in designing and/or fashion had created the uniforms with there own hands and designs.

One could even make there own uniforms here so long as they were school appropriate, navy and carried the school crest somewhere visible on the outfit.

Li Yaorui chose an off the shoulder sweater dress. She wore black stretchy pants to cover her legs, navy sneakers with floral designs and silver shoelaces and to complete the outfit she put on a black belt that had the crest for a buckle. She put her hair up into a clean ponytail, leaving her bangs out. Yaorui grabbed a golden hairpin that had the school crest at the end. When done, she left the bathroom to collect her books and other school supplies, making sure that she had everything she left her room with a b.a.r.e face. She crept out of her dorms, careful not to wake her other two roommates.

Class A, Secondary First year

Inside the dimly lit classroom sat Li Yaorui. She was seated in the second row by the windows. Her desk was stacked with tablets, each a different colour. Each colour represented a different subject or use. The ones with the school logo on it were textbooks in digital form, she had two unmarked tablets, her white one she used for school-related things like notes, homework, etc and her black one was used for her own personal reasons. She had a couple of paper books on her desk though not as much as the 14 tablets on her desk.

(A/N: Search up a Day made of Glass from corning on Youtube that's what the tablets look like.)

As Yaorui studied on, her music loud enough to block out any potential noise.

"What do you want?" Li Yaorui's cold eyes stared straight ahead, not even bothering to look at the owner of the hand that was very close to being shattered behind her. Her pale porcelain hand gripped the other, "Speak,"

"I needed to a-ask you a q-question...Ooww~,"

"What is your question," her question seemed more of a command.

"C-can I sit in the s-seat next t-to you?~hiss~,"

"That's it?" Yaorui finally turned around to look at the boy. Her cold eyes stared daggers into him. The boy nodded up and down. "Fine," she said, finally releasing his hand.

"Wait a minute, y-your the Li family's first daughter!" The boy gasped.

Li Yaorui wasn't that shocked to see that he knew her. Who didn't? Yaorui took a good look at the boy.

"I remember you. Your Guabao ge's girlfriend's brother. Hu Anli, right?"

"Hu Angli, but you can just call me Angli,"

"Well then, I look forward to our year together deskmate." Yaorui said, offering her hand out for a handshake, "Sorry about before, I have to be extra careful with all the murders that have been happening."

"I get it, I don't wanna die either." Yaorui smiled at Angli.

"By the way, you can call me Yaorui," Angli returned her smile.

Li Yaorui removed her tablets from off his desk and allowed Angli some natural light coming from the window. The two sat side by side studying together, and asking questions whenever one was unsure of something. They stayed like that until seven, when both their friends arrived.

"Yaoruiiiiiii~," Gebao called in her sweet voice.

Yaorui looked up to see Gebao and Sheng Rong making their way towards her.

"Good morning."

"Why did you leave us? You're supposed to be our alarm clock." Gebao w.h.i.n.ed.

"What are you talking about? It's a good thing that she didn't wake us up! Do you even know what time she wakes up at?!" Gebao shook her head at Sheng Rong. "She wakes up at 4:30 am, do you know how early that is?"

Gebao widened her eyes and stared a Yaorui shocked.

"But she loves to sleep! How does that make any sense?!"

"Don't ask me."

"Now that we have settled my love for sleep, I have an assessment exam to study for," Yaorui says, returning to her textbooks and notes.

"Hey, I'm back," Hu Angli says, returning from the boys' restroom. "Where are you now?"

"Question 87," Yaorui answered.

"Need help?"

"Yes please,"

The two girls' who were previously speaking to their best friend Yaorui were now dumbfounded as they stared at the pair. Still shocked the two took a seat in the pair of desks in front of the couple.

"Y-Yaorui? W-who is that?" Sheng Rong asked.

The couple completely ignored them and continued on answering the questions together. They were completely oblivious to the compromising position they were in. Hu Angli was leaning over of Yaorui. His arms were placed on either side of Yaorui, his face wasn't even an inch away from her. Yaorui was unconsciously leaning onto Hu Angli, but when Hu Angli took her writing hand and guided it, the PDA went up a whole other level. To make things even crazier, they both turned their heads and smiled at each other. It was like the two didn't even notice the close distance between themselves. Then Hu Angli whispered something that the two observers could not hear to Yaorui. When Yaorui heard what he said her cheeks turned pink. Hu Angli smiled and commented on her pink cheeks, making her even shyer. He laughed then returned to his seat.

When the mysterious boy sat down, both Sheng Rong and Gebao were shocked to see who it was. Gebao was shocked because it was her future brother in law whom she had continuously teased when she found out that he had a crush on Yaorui. Sheng Rong was shocked because he was a Hu, the Hu's were known worldwide for being terrifying people with no heart. So when she saw Hu Angli smiling and laughing with Yaorui, she was shocked.

When both Sheng Rong and Gebao saw the pair side by side, they realized just how beautiful the two looked together.

Yaorui's gentles features and small physique contradicted Hu Angli's tall and fit physique. Although Yaorui had more of a chilly aura and Angli's was carefree and serious.
