I will never get used to how fast I suck blood out of a living being. I just poke my proboscis on the living being's skin and start to suck blood, and then sooner or later, just like magic, the being I'm s.u.c.k.i.n.g blood from is now a bone dry corpse, waiting to fall down or something.

Haah. Either way, s.u.c.k.i.n.g a deer bone dry does mean that I'm getting closer to upgrading my physique to another level. I wonder what comes wasted? Not wasted?

Oh yeah, these next levels cost 70 points so I can only exactly do 3 upgrades per deer I suck. Huh...I think that can be a good gauge of how much blood a living being. Would a human have more? Would a lion have more? Would a great being have more? Who knows.

Speaking of great beings, after I finished s.u.c.k.i.n.g off the second deer, and I do admit that the previous line sounds pretty l.e.w.d but getting back on track, I have a feeling that a great being is onto what I'm doing.

I don't know if it's a great being or something, but I know for sure that it's stronger than me at the very least. As to whether I can beat it or not, that would be up to the great being if it would show itself and give me a chance to suck its blood. Do note that I can't know their specific descriptions if I can't suck their blood.

Anyways, since the great being, well... I'll just call this being the lurker from now on. Where was I? Ah, right. Anyways, since the lurker is not making a move and is only staring at sussing out what I'm doing at the clearing, I'll continue to suck on some deer and run away when it shows up? Then again, does it really see me, or perceive me rather? I can perceive the lurker because I have Qi Perception, which allows me to sense auras and qi, but I think that lurker won't have such a thing like that.

I made my way to another deer who's distracted by what it's eating and poked my proboscis one more time, s.u.c.k.i.n.g the deer bone dry not long after before I upgrade the three remaining parts that haven't been maxed as of yet.

Of course, since I've already maxed all of the parts at their current physique level, a prompt from the system came up in the form of its monotonous voice and resounded in my head, asking.

'You have maxed out your current physique. Would you like to upgrade your physique? This will cost 150 points.'

That's a big jump. From 50 points to 150 points...three times the original amount. If upgrading my physique level already costs 150 points, then I wonder how much points I would have to use on the next level to upgrade my parts? Not only that, how many levels are there before I max out the upgrading of a part? All of that screams out I should focus on my main skills and not my body in the meantime. And since it screams out just that, I'll do just that...after I suck another deer, of course.

Buzz...

As I made my way towards the third deer, the aura that I felt from the lurker turned from slight curiosity to rage to...more rage than curiosity. Huh. Did I anger it or something? Were these deer something that this lurker owned? Come on man, you could at least allow me to suck some, right? No? Well f.u.c.k you, I'll still suck this third deer dry.

And with the third deer I've s.u.c.k.e.d turning into a bone dry corpse, I allotted 150 points out of all the points I've s.u.c.k.e.d out of that deer into upgrading my physique.

Just like before, a soft breeze blew through the body, only to be followed by a warm energy enveloping my body, increasing my strength even more. To be honest, this strength boost is actually greater than before! Or is it? Oh well.

'Physique Level: Wasted -> Untapped'

Ooh. Untapped. Now that sounds very pleasant to the ears. Now it's telling me that I have some untapped potential hidden in my body. The question is...if I upgraded my physique one more time, would that potential be unlocked or something?

Just as I was fantasizing about the next levels of physique that I could obtain, the aura I was perceiving a while ago intensified to an all new level, removing all of the curiosity from its aura, only to be replaced with rage.

Crash! Crash!

Not long after the loud roar I've heard, which somewhat hurt my antennae ears due to the loudness, mind you, a few trees fell down, which startled the deers that were eating and made them run away, revealing a big black bear wanting to eat me alive.

The big black bear stood where the crashed trees originally were, crushing them down with its own body weight. I'd gotta say, I don't wanna die like that. It looks to and fro for a bit before locking its sights onto my tiny mosquito body.

Wait...it locked onto me?

With its sights on me, the aura surrounding the bear went through a gradual change as I saw a faint red energy circulate throughout its body before being released towards my direction.

Qi! That's definitely got to be qi!

Ah f.u.c.k. I've now lost all motivation to fight against this thing.

Not long after, the qi turned into a ring over my head as the bear opened its mouth, creating some weird noises.

Surprisingly though, these noises were then translated into a language I understood. Is it because of the qi ring the bear made?

"Tell me, puny mosquito. Why have you decided to eat my prey?" the bear asked, trying to hold its rage.

Your prey? Oh, now I see why it was mad. Let me check if it can hear me first.

"Uh...I haven't really talked with others that much but...can you hear me?" I spoke through my mind, knowing very well that I did not have a mouth in the first place. Surprisingly, the bear responded.

"Yeah, I can. Now tell me the reason you did that or else I'll stomp you flat."

With the bear confirming that it could hear me, I became very surprised at the flexibility of qi. Once I get me some qi, I should really do what the bear did and use it on humans so I can talk with them.

Anyways, let me try and escape from this bear first. It really wants me to be dead. I pondered over my answer for a bit, with the bear's rage gradually rising amidst the silence. Eventually though, I did speak up, answering, "Well, the reason for that is..."

"Is?" the bear asked.

"Is..."

"Is...?"

'Stealth!' As the bear was distracted, I hastily commanded in my mind to activate stealth, instantly removing my presence from the area as I flew away from the qi ring, removing my ability of understanding the bear's speech.

Since I disappeared all of a sudden without fully answering its question, the bear's rage then reached an all-time high, raising its paws up and making a mess out of the clearing. Damn, it must be very mad that I s.u.c.k.e.d those deer dry.

Now, if the qi ring the bear made could attach to my body, then that would give me more problems. It would also give me a great problem if it could use its qi to scan its surroundings. Surprisingly, it hasn't done so. Does the bear know how to do that?

Anyways, let me grab a small specimen of the bear before leaving.

Buzz...

A single poke was enough to obtain 20 or so points of blood from that bear, but it wasn't enough to obtain its constitution skill...which is good, I think? Anyways, it's enough for me to identify the bear as I flew towards a safer height.

A type of bear that has awakened a bloodline suited for leading the same species. Not only that, the bear has awakened the bloodline further, allowing the bear to use basic qi skills, as well as have boosted strength and defense. Would not recommend to fight against one unless prepared.

A being of the 2nd evolution tier...I wonder how strong that would be. Anyways, seeing that I killed a crow of the same tier without any problems, I would be able to kill this bear once I reach the second tier as well? If so, when do I evolve to the second tier?

Bah, I'll just worry about that later. For now, I have to find another being to suck blood from...or fight, I could also fight. After s.u.c.k.i.n.g three deer, I've gotten used to their taste, and the fact that they don't boost my strength ain't really nice as well.

I left the clearing, leaving the bear in its tantrum of sorts as I buzzed through the wild forest at greater speed. Upgrading my physique does have its benefits.

But now...with no target at the moment...other than the bear in the future, which being should I suck blood from?
