"What?" Blinking her eyes, Zoey cocked her head to the side as she could not understand the sudden strangeness in his eyes. 

However, he said nothing and just shook his head. Right, it was just about time that Enzo Li came back after he had sent him abroad for a week. 

Just as Zoey shrugged her shoulders and threw whatever thought she had in mind, her phone produced a notification sound of an incoming chat. Glancing at it, she knitted her brows after seeing Enzo Li's name on the screen. 

"He's alive again?" She murmured, picking up her phone to check his message. The last time she saw him was last week, and she even teased him until he was hella mad. 

Hence, Zoey was curious to know which cemetery he was residing in for the past week. After all, Enzo Li was emotionally unstable at the moment — after that failed proposal of his. 

Zoey might not act on it, but Enzo Li sometimes got her worried for nothing. Therefore, since Matthew Xi would go home at night, she might kill some time by enraging Enzo Li for going missing-in-action. 

Not to mention, to help her take Cora Ma and Zion Kwan's love life in her hands, he would be a good ally in it, anyway. With that in mind, Zoey opened his message without noticing the suspicious glare from the person across from her. 

[From: Monkey Li

Oy! Where are you? Did you crash your ex's engagement party? I bet you cried and begged him, huh? Anyway, if you got rejected and heartbroken, how about we grab some drinks?] 

Upon reading Enzo Li's insulting comfort, Zoey snickered as a smug grin flashed across her lips. Without further ado, she tapped the reply button and composed her reply. 

[To: Monkey Li

For your information, he's the one who begged me. *smirk* As if he could even compare to my darling, duh?] Zoey immediately sent her message as a proud scoff slipped from her lips. 

Meanwhile, Matthew Xi's eyes were akin to those sharp poisonous daggers as he watched her snicker while messaging someone else. If he didn't receive a message from Enzo Li, he would wonder who she was talking to. 

However, he did. Therefore, he figured that Enzo Li must be the one suggesting indecency to her right now. 'Li Enzo... where should I send him next...?' Matthew Xi wondered internally. 

[From: Monkey Li

Ha! You really brought that darling of yours to your ex's engagement party?! Zoey, you are one crazy girl — did I already mention you're crazy? Yes, I did and I am 100% serious! Jeez! Are you copying one of those cliche drama scenes of taking revenge? Because it is dramatic.]

[To: Monkey Li

Revenge? Lol. That would take a lot of emotions for me to do that. What's so crazy about being happy for my ex? Also, I just showed-off my Darling! What's so bad about that? After all, my darling is the best! He's thousand times more good looking than any celebrity! I am proud!]

[From: Monkey Li

A thousand times? Wow... you're really delusional! Everyone is good looking for you — what are you saying!? ????]

[To: Monkey Li

You won't even stand a chance ????]

As if any of your claims are true. :/ If your darling is so handsome, then, why are you keeping him all for yourself to see? Unless, he's not even real. ????]

"Aish! This little piece of..." Grinding her teeth, Zoey was about to curse the hell out of Enzo Li. However, just when she was about to, her words trailed off as the strong dark aura surrounding her gave her chills. 

Matthew Xi, bearing his extra cold poker face peered at her without a word. She had been snickering, smirking, and variety of expressions while tapping on her phone. 

It was as if she had forgotten about his existence completely. Therefore, his cold aura grew stronger every passing second. 

"Hehe. Darling..." Looking up at the unfaltering pair of russet eyes, Zoey chuckled awkwardly. She was so busy boasting that she actually forgot that the person she was showing off was still sitting across her. 

"Don't mind me, go on." Emotionless, Matthew Xi slightly jerked his chin towards her phone. 

"Tsk! Darling, can you stay here for a little while? I mean, like extend your first 'yes' with the same question previously?"

"Why?" Arching his brows, Matthew Xi had been planning on staying, anyway. Although not in this room, he would still stay on the floor several floors above this room. 

"I'm asking my friend to drop by! He wouldn't believe that you're much better than him — his pride as the number one hottest male celebrity is hurt!" Rolling her eyes, Zoey scoffed as she was utterly insulted that Enzo Li was treating her as a liar. 

"I'll just introduce you to him and shut his mouth by parading your beauty!" Zoey grinned, flashing him a sweet smile as she fluttered her lashes beautifully. 

Matthew Xi stared at her, his displeasure slightly subsided upon hearing her 'favor'. He then heard her say, "I won't take 'no' as an answer, though."

"Whatever." Using her persistence as an excuse, Matthew Xi shrugged his shoulders as he agreed to whatever she planned to do. After all, he figured that it was about time to let Enzo Li stop trespassing on his property. 

"Nice!" Zoey exclaimed giddily before she turned and tapped her thumbs on the phone. 

[To: Monkey Li

You don't believe me? I'm with him today and even yesterday! Why don't you drop by in OUR hotel room? Brace yourself, though. I don't think you'll have enough confidence when you see him!] 

Zoey sent her message with a mischievous giggle. Matthew Xi just glanced at her and lightly shook his head. Even without knowing what she was saying, he somehow figured that it was something akin to giving Enzo Li a heart attack.

"Brace myself? Won't have enough confidence?! Ha! This Zoey! I'll let you know who will lose confidence tonight!" Grinding his teeth at the very infuriating message he received in his entire life, Enzo Li stomped his feet as he violently opened his closet and rummaged it for his best casual boy-next-door get up. 

"I'll let her see that even if I wear a rug, I am always better! Just you wait!" He scoffed, throwing his clothes around. 

Little did he know, he wouldn't just lose his confidence but would receive the shock of his life in a few hours.
