When Zoey agreed, Matthew explained his plans about the building. As he did, Zoey noticed him in s high spirits. On the other hand, Zoey couldn't share the same energy as she had more problems to think about.

Good thing, although her mind was seeking for an answer how to deal with Matthew Xi, she managed to listen to his explanation. Basically, he wanted to renovate the place per floor. In that case, it wouldn't hinder the Z Image Group's operations.

However, Zoey couldn't help but arch her right brow upon hearing his other plans. Apparently, he wanted to establish a small clinic on the ground floor. He didn't say the reason, but Zoey more or less understood why.

"Uhm, Boss Zhou?" While Zoey was recalling the discussion she had with Matthew before he left, she didn't notice the faint knock outside until Melanie peeked inside her office and called her out.

"What?" Zoey didn't intentionally sound annoyed, but having to think that she couldn't shrug Matthew easily in this lifetime, it took a great toll on her mood.

"Err…" Upon sensing the edgy aura permeating across this small office, Melanie cleared her throat as she intruded inside. However, she only stood in front of the door, holding it open. "We're not getting kicked out, are we?" Before Melanie could relay the main reason she interrupted her boss's precious time, these words already left her mouth.

This was the kind of a person Melanie was; although a little clumsy and eccentric but she was an honest person. She naturally inquired about what was bugging her as she was purely concerned about the company she worked for. After all, this was her first company where she was accepted for an office job. Thus, it was safe to say it was better than her previous job.

"Never." Zoey rolled her eyes, crossing her arms as she chuckled in confidence. Well, even if Matthew wanted to kick her out, she has many trump cards up her sleeve. That being said, she could just move out because she'll have her break in the business industry this week!

She'll be rich in no time! Yet, only Zoey knew about that because she came from the future!

Yet, by the doubtful expression plastered across Melanie's face, Zoey diverted the subject. "Anyway, you didn't come here just for that, right?"

"Right. There's a guy outside named Mikmik. He said he had an important appointment with you, so I came to inform you." Melanie, who recalled her real reason for disturbing her, snapped. Her thumb pointed behind her, pointing in the office outside Zoey's.

"Mikmik?" For a second, Zoey was confused before her eyes lit up. "Yes! Let him in!" Zoey clasped her hands together, a bright grin resurfaced on her lips as if all her stress washed away immediately.

"Oh, okay…" A bit suspicious at the sudden change of mood of Zoey, Melanie still nodded her head as she dragged her feet out, closing the door behind her.

Shortly after Melanie left, a knock once again reached Zoey's ears. "Come in." She ordered and soon the door slowly opened.

Milo glanced at Melanie, who gestured to him to come inside with a meek smile. He bowed his head in understanding, entering inside before Melanie closed the door. "She's cute." As soon as the door closed, Milo muttered, which made the corner of Zoey's lips twitch.

"Don't, Milo. No, don't." Zoey shook her head sideways, waving her hand as she shrugged the idea of Milo and Melanie. Although Melanie remained single before Zoey died in her previous lifetime, Milo was a bad match for her.

Why? Because eight years from now, Milo would be known as the most notorious hacker. He would spread a system virus that would overturn the computer age. Not just billions would be stolen, but also classified information — forcing big government agencies to shut down their system while his virus continued to dominate every computer system.

Thus, Zoey knew Milo was a bad match with Melanie. Her dear innocent and bubbly Melanie… Milo shouldn't interfere with her peaceful life.

"I'm just saying." Milo shrugged indifferently, watching Zoey stand up from her swivel chair and walk towards the small round table with two chairs opposite each other. He then followed her and perched on the chair across her.

"Just don't have silly ideas. I'm against it." Although Milo seemed like he wasn't serious about Melanie and he was just being honest, Zoey already spoke her stand while waving her hand.

Seeing this, Milo arched his right brow as he leaned his back against the chair backrest. "What will you do if I don't follow your instructions, then?" He asked, tilting his head to the side out of curiosity.

"Hehe." Yet, Zoey only chuckled as her lips stretched into a creepy smile. "I'll give an option when that time comes." Slowly, Zoey's elbow rested on the surface of the round table, her hands linked together as she placed her chin on the back of her hand.

Milo scrutinized Zoey's expression. It was neither fake nor genuine, but he could feel the threat permeating from her smile. "You look like those people…" He murmured, shaking his head as he slowly picked up his bag that he had placed on the side.

"I don't look like those people, Milo." In a matter-of-fact tone, Zoey chuckled as she watched him take out a folder from the bag.

"Really, huh?" Sarcasm laced his tone, casting Zoey an indifferent gaze as he tilted his head to the side.

"Mhmm," Zoey hummed, nodding her head lightly. "I am that type of person." She clarified, causing Milo's brows to knit as his eyes fixated to her.

"Should I arrest you now?"

"Not a chance." Playful despite the flat remarks, Zoey giggled before snapping her finger, pointing at the folder in his hand. "That's already paid for." Zoey reminded him to which Milo scoffed faintly before tossing the folder in front of her.

"But really, you seem different from last time. You even asked me to come here — weird." While Zoey began skimming through the blackmail material Milo prepared for her, the latter could not help but notice these small yet oddly noticeable changes of the woman sitting across him.

"Nice!" However, instead of bothering herself about Milo's inquiries, Zoey exclaimed in excitement, seeing the perfect blackmail that was worthy to use during her meeting. "Milo, you're the best!" Zoey showed him a thumbs up, grinning from ear to ear.

"I know."

"Say, why don't you work for me from now on?" Without beating around the bush, Zoey proposed. She leaned her right elbow on the edge of the table, her other hand resting on her hips.

"Huh??" A look of disbelief immediately resurfaced on Milo's face. "Work for you? Like here?" He asked, clearing up his confusion so he could understand well.

"Hmm!" She nodded her head profusely, still bearing her stretched smile.

"Are you out of your mind? Why would I do that?" His nose scrunched up, staring at her with eyes full of disdain as if he was staring at a fool. "You know my work is…" However, his words trailed off when Zoey laughed.

"Your work is what? Bringing justice?" Zoey laughed mockingly once again.. "Yet, you're doing side jobs such as this one? Aren't you a hypocrite, Milo?" Her eyes slowly scanned Milo's visage before she snickered.
