Wild Young Miss: Mister, Let's Kiss!

Chapter 391 - Can’t You See How Pretty I Am?

"Damn…" Through his gritted teeth, Ivan hurled another one of those muffled curses.. His grip on the handle tightened as he gazed at the side mirror from time to time. "I should've remembered how crazy you can be." He added, feeling the incoming headache.

"Hehe." Zoey giggled, focusing her eyes on the road as her peripheral vision remained alert.

Soon, Zoey's car along with her pursuers exited the highway, shifting gears without a word while Ivan held on to his seat every time she changed gears. When they entered the first town that was near the city, Zoey checked the police mobiles that managed to follow her.

"One, two, three…" She counted, moving her eyes from the road to the rear mirror as she counted how many were still left.

"For Christ's sake! Let me!" Meanwhile, Ivan grumbled while grinding his teeth as she could only do one thing at once!

"I'm not a decoration!" He added, turning his head back and began counting. Aside from her sudden decision to be crazy, Ivan was more annoyed she was treating him like her car accessory.

He just followed her around, getting bamboozled every once in a while. To be honest, even though he's her 'personal' assistant in Z Image Group, he does nothing.

Melanie had more important tasks than him. Well, that's understandable because his position as an assistant was just a cover. However, even for those tasks related to his main mission, Zoey didn't even need him.

Not that it was bad. Actually, it was good that Zoey was capable. In that case, Ivan didn't need to worry about her as he knew she could get her way out of any trouble.

Still, his own problem existed; Zoey didn't seem to need him. Be it dealing with Cecil or counting how many police mobiles were pursuing her, she does it all without even asking him!

"There's five of them." Still sounding annoyed, Ivan retracted his back as he slammed his back against the front passenger seat. "Six — including that one." He added, counting the one that was approaching from his side.

"Gosh… you should be proud of your sister." Zoey mumbled, causing his brows to knit in confusion.

"Huh?"

"Can't you see how pretty I am? Too many pursuers." She humored, giggling at her own jokes which didn't affect the latter.

If there's something Ivan felt, it was nothing but annoyance. "Not funny." He bickered in exasperation.

"Oh, come on~! Cheer up!" She rolled her eyes, shaking her head before she arched her right brow and glanced to the side. "Wow…" She muttered, her cheerful countenance instantly turned dark as she leaned a little forward to check the left turn.

"Yes, wow." Unlike his hyper and distressed demeanor earlier, Ivan was already out of energy to feel terrified anymore. By the looks of it, the car on their right would ram at them.

"We'll get killed — I hope we survive." Unlike his words, his tone was indifferent as he rested the back of his head on the seat's headrest.

"Amen." Although she was busy driving recklessly, Zoey managed to answer him which more or less amused Ivan.

"I don't even know if you're doing this on purpose because you don't want to directly help Angelo." In a matter-of-fact tone, Ivan asked as he sighed, shaking his head sideways.

"Not really." Still, she answered and denied her calm accusation. "This has nothing to do with that guy."

Indeed, there's only one reason why she suddenly decided to race with the authorities. She wanted to test her car. Not that she was confident she wouldn't get caught; it just seemed to be like that.

If she was going to be honest, it was also to get an answer. Zoey already rode in this car from Kenneth's place, but she only got the chance to drive it now.

Therefore, she immediately noticed the difference. It was as if aside from the car shell, everything was upgraded.

This reminded her of Matthew's car in her previous life. Matthew had this particular car in his collections that looked normal. However, she remembered him telling her it was one of his favorites before he opened that particular vehicle's hood.

Both cars from her previous and current life appeared to be different. However, Zoey was now certain their engines were almost the same. After all, she drove that car a few times with Matthew — or rather, she drove each car from his many collections.

"Sure, sis." Unconvinced, Ivan didn't probe further as his shoulders relaxed. "We'll make it in time, or much earlier for sure." He said, looking up ahead to find that they were near a subdivision.

An industrial subdivision for company warehouses. "This will be more extreme." In a flat and unexcited tone, Ivan muttered under his breath.

"Grit your teeth." Zoey gave him a heads up, her hand around the steering wheel tightened as her jaw clenched.

The closer they got to the gate, her eyes grew sharper. Zoey saw a person standing in the middle, waving his hand in the air gesturing to her to stop for inspection.

However, after several seconds, the guard must've realized what was going on. Thus, without a second hesitation, he sprang to the side.

As soon as he did, Zoey passed by him, followed by the speeding police mobile with their siren filling the air. The guard immediately headed to his post, picking up the telephone and reported the situation.

"Huh," Zoey glanced back via the side mirror, seeing how the guard rushed back to his post. "Ivan, call them." Without batting him an eye, Zoey ordered.

Ivan first knitted his brows before realizing who she was referring to. "Okay," He said, fishing his phone out of his smart office suit.

He tapped on the screen a few times, his thumb trembled a little. After he swallowed a mouthful of saliva, Ivan pressed the call button and set it on speaker mode.

*KRIIING! KRIIIING! KRIING!*

Just before the fourth ring could end, it was picked up immediately. "Are you crazy?!" From the other end of the line, an exasperated voice of a man was heard.

"Where is he?" Unfazed, Zoey queried flatly.

"And do you think you can negotiate about your friend now?!"

"Turn him in." As if she wasn't listening to his blunder, Zoey instructed. "If not…"

"No!"

"Sure." Upon hearing his firm rejection, Zoey agreed without a second late. As if on cue, Ivan ended the call.

"Sis…" Ivan called out. Just as he did, the phone rang once again.

Without Zoey's instructions, Ivan instinctively answered it despite seeing it was an unregistered number. Yet, he kept his mouth zipped closed.

"Zia," To Ivan's surprise, the person he heard was Nikolai.

Tell your men to abandon the place and turn Angelo in. He's mine." Unlike Ivan's reaction, Zoey's was the complete opposite as if she had already seen it coming.

"No," Calm and collected, Nikolai answered and again, the call was cut short.

"Sis, what's going on?"

"We're going in." Zoey announced, tilting her head ahead towards a slightly aged warehouse.

Out of instinct, Ivan turned his head in front, his eyes slowly widened as they approached closer towards the large gates of the said warehouse.. "No, we're barging in!" He mumbled, his anxiety once again resurfaced as he grit his teeth, embracing himself for the impact.
