Heading straight to the kitchen, Matthew Xi felt more distress. The food served on the table were prepared by his personal chefs.

"Wrap this up. I'm giving it to someone." Side eyeing one maid standing on the corner, Matthew Xi ordered which was accepted by a bow.

Regardless of how pretty expensive the presentation for each dish was, Matthew Xi didn't have the time to buy another batch of food. It was already late, and he didn't know what she likes.

Moreover, he could just come up with an excuse if she asked him where he bought them. Yup, continue with the lie. Knowing a bit of her, she wouldn't be too focused on foods because he's there, right?

"I must be crazy..." Upon having that last thought, Matthew Xi heaved another heavy sigh. Did he just accepted the fact that he's the lamb to be sacrificed for her not to notice something amiss?

Right after, Matthew Xi took a quick shower and had a change of casual sweater and pants. He couldn't visit Zoey in his business suit, could he?

She knew that he was a normal working man. Initially, Matthew Xi didn't intend to hide the fact that he was the Matthew Xi Zoey heard of. However, as time goes by, as her misunderstanding about having the same name of the same person — which was him too — Matthew Xi went along the flow.

After all, he might not admit it, but deep inside, his instinct told him to keep it as it was. For some reason, he felt that once she knew he was the real Matthew Xi all long, her attitude towards him might change.

Just like how everyone treated him, she might turn into one of them. Those people that often scared to voice their thoughts out and distanced from him.

Indeed, being treated differently was special in a way. Matthew Xi disliked her unconventional ways but also deep within thought it was special.

What a weird way to take their relationship. Nevertheless, their relationship wasn't that bad... he guessed. At the very least, they have something in common. Besides, Vivian Xi was going cray cray about the whole rumors about him.

Matthew Xi didn't want to see more girls coming in his home and ask his people to sanitized his place. He didn't want that trouble. He would rather keep Zoey a bit longer until they used the three dates up.

Little did he know, he would realize something that would make him rethink this mentality of his. The trap of Zoey that not many could escape — he's not one of the selected few that could easily escape.

She couldn't let Matthew Xi know that she played with Enzo Li half the day, could she? He might flip and leave her like usual.

"What's taking him so long?" Scanning the room with a satisfied smile, Zoey muttered. It has been an hour since the phone call and Matthew Xi was still not there.

Considering the location of his 'apartment', Zoey somehow understood that he would take him at least an hour and a half or two. With how carefully he drives, Zoey wouldn't be surprised if he took three hours travel time.

What an old-fashioned guy Matthew Xi was. However, that was his edge and why Zoey was all over him. She hadn't met such a reserved and seemingly unconcerned man in her life.

All men she dated were rather shameless in many ways. Of course, she was more shameless. Still, if she compared Matthew Xi with the others, Matthew Xi shone differently, which was very noticeable among the uniformed patterns of the men she had encountered.

"I'll just wait for him then," Still in the mood because of her incoming visitor, Zoey smiled as she picked up a few documents to read. She'll just have to read a little more of the clauses regarding the complaints against her while waiting.

One hour had passed, Matthew Xi still didn't arrive. Zoey didn't notice the time as she succumbed with the papers she was reading. All the organizing and cleaning she did earlier, her bed ended up from what it initially looked like — documents scattered around the bed.

Just then, Zoey snapped as her phone rang. She nearly jolted as the room was quiet, only the sound of the papers being flipped or being tossed to the side was heard. Hence, the sudden noise slightly startled her.

"That nearly gave me a heart attack." She murmured, patting her chest lightly. Sprawling her arm to reach for her phone, Zoey arched her brows.

It was her lawyer that was calling. Why? Was there a problem? Did Richard Sun lost it completely? She couldn't be blamed for having these thoughts after seeing her lawyer's name on the screen.

'Guess I'll find out once I answered.' She thought internally. Hence, without further ado, Zoey answered.

"Yes?"

"Good evening, Miss Zhou. I'm sorry for interrupting your rest but Mr. Richard Sun personally reach me out..." From the other end of the line, Attorney Chan informed her the details of what occurred just now.
