"I just think I shouldn't answer that — you won't like it." 

"Say it," Seeing that she was a bit nonchalant, Matthew Xi's curiosity was still piqued. What kind of trick did she do? Matthew Xi's imagination could not help but conclude different scenarios including: seduction. It was stupid to even consider that and Matthew Xi know that, but blame it on his imagination.

That alone caused an inexplicable glint that flashed across his sharp russet eyes. Still, Matthew Xi tried to calm himself down and prepared for her next words. 

"I'm too pretty that its hard to refuse a beauty like me." In a matter-of-fact tone, Zoey vaguely explained. Meaning, she used her charm to get her way in, which was partially true and not.

"..." Indeed, Matthew Xi didn't like her answer, rendering him speechless and displeased. 

"Kidding. My first love works here, so he's helping me out." Sensing the sudden change of air, Zoey grinned as she chuckled. 

Was she purposely teasing him? Obviously. Zoey was only trying to give him reasons to stay, and perhaps this trick might work... it seemed it was, though. 

"Then why is he not here?" Sounding unfazed, only Matthew Xi knew the effort of concealing how annoyed he was at the moment. Regardless, nothing could be seen on the surface as his expression didn't change. 

"He's in his office. He told me he will accompany me tonight if no one will look after me." Mixing truths with the lies, Zoey innocently explained. 

"You're not genuinely sick yet you want someone to look after you. Don't you think you're bothering people too much?" Matthew Xi didn't want to sound too much, but he sounded anyway. 

The more nonsense she spouted as if it was nothing, the more irked Matthew Xi gets. How could she say all this in front of him? Aren't they dating, exclusively? 

Truly, Zoey was pushing him to his limits. Fortunately, his inner self was resisting from transforming into a person Matthew Xi would hate her to see. 

"Wow, my darling..." Blinking her eyes many times, Zoey stared at him in amusement. "Do you think I care? I hate being alone in the hospital and it's not like I want to be here — it's all that freak's fault!" Pushing all the blame to Richard Sun, Zoey exclaimed. 

It was not like she was lying about her last remarks. After all, she wouldn't be in this situation if Richard Sun was a sane person, but he wasn't. Also, Zion Kwan wouldn't mind being bothered by her every once in a while. Zion Kwan would prefer that instead of not hearing from her.

Meanwhile, Matthew Xi remained his gaze on her. He was utterly speechless with Zoey. After all the things she spouted, it urged him to storm out of the room and leave her alone. 

The reason? Matthew Xi would know immediately if his emotions wasn't interfering with him. However, he was silently upset that he couldn't think straight and calmly. 

"You... don't forget our deal." Pulling out the contract thing card — about exclusively dating — Matthew Xi tightened his jaw. 

For once, Matthew Xi regretted not letting her know what he did for her. All his efforts, he felt that it was a waste of time because she still does what she wanted. 

He would be lying if he said he wasn't insulted. Zoey bringing up her first love, how she managed to get admitted, and using her 'beauty', Matthew Xi was not a bit amused at it. 

If anything, he perceived her methods to do things as low. However, what does he expect? More than that, why was he so affected at how she do things?

Just then, the side of Zoey's lips stretched from ear to ear as she suddenly hopped out of the bed. Matthew Xi watched her skip a few steps towards him before plopping down on his lap. 

This sudden closeness halted whatever upsetting thoughts he has in mind. Zoey placed her arms over his shoulders as she set her glimmering pair of eyes at him. 

"Stay here for tonight then," Zoey suggested with a smile. By the looks of it, she didn't mind the level of physical closeness between them. They were exclusively dating, so Zoey didn't mind taking her flirting to the next level.
