Will There Be A Happy Ending?

Chapter 20 - You wanted to assassinate the Blue Blood of Country C?

In National Hospital VVIP patient room

"I swear, Mistress, I was unaware of what had transpired. She does have access to my resources, but due to my incompetence, she was able to exploit my resources. Please, let me know should you wish for me to handle this as per your prerequisite," the young man kneeled on the floor facing towards the woman reclined on the bed.

Even with his current servitude posture, you can still perceive his charismatic semblance.

The woman continued staring at him, void of emotion but was unable to conceal the deadly aura of an empress emitting from her body, as if she might kill him anytime. "Tell me, Brandon. Did you really not know of her connection to the Lee family? Do you expect me to believe this?" her voice calm but cold.

"Mistress, this one life is in your hand if you want this one to extirpate this one's life. I would gladly yield," the man continued while his head is still on the floor not daring even to take a sneak peek.

The woman looked out the window and replied plainly, "Don't worry. It's not your life I'm after at the moment. Deal with this by tonight." The woman on the bed had walnuty brows, a high nose and delicate heart-shaped lips in a beautiful natural shade just like sakura flower in full bloom. The most unusual feature was her pair of phoenix-shaped onyx eyes.

It was not like she did not trust the man or the man was incompetent. But the fact that a woman can hoodwink this man, it is something unexpected but not impossible.

"Yes, Mistress."

"Dismiss"

The man quickly stood up and bowed before slowly withdrew from the room, only to release his breath after closing the door behind him. Damn woman, you are indeed the death of me. Just you wait! You wanted to assassinate the Blue Blood of Country C? I will have your head on a silver platter tonight!

With that, the young man walked away from the room, disappearing into the lift.

Meanwhile, the woman who was earlier in bed emanating a domineering bearing is now lazing around listening to her Spotify playlist on her phone, occasionally singing aloud... The song Nine Part Rythme by Ye Xuanqing is playing set on repeat.

A/N: Nine Part Rythme 九张机 by Ye Xuanqing is the theme song for The Eternal Love (Chinese: 双世宠妃) a 2017 Chinese television series based on the novel Bao Xiao Chong Fei: Ye Wo Deng Ni Xiu Qi (Chinese: 爆笑宠妃:爷我等你休妻) by Fan Que. This also happened to be my favourite drama. Disclaimer!!! I am in no means of promoting any shows. It is just that; I love to infuse real-life facts in my writing😋

For someone who is so busy with work, watching Wuxia drama has always been her means to distress. At times, when she didn't feel like working in the office, she would secretly watch her shows on her laptop. Even Hidayat was unaware of his sister's obsession. The only 2 person who knew of Hidayah's weird fixation was Leoneil and Erika.

Leoneil once caught her watching some drama on her phone while she was doing her stretches back in the university's dōjō on a non-training day and Erika, well, she always catches Hidayah watching such shows both at work and during their schooling days.

Since Hidayah enrolled at the University at a younger age, she was 5 years younger than Erika. In actual fact, Leoneil and Erika both treat Hidayah like their younger sister.
