Will There Be A Happy Ending?

That night, after dinner, Hidayah locked herself in her study room. She had brought some paperwork home for her to revise. The holiday was coming near and she intends to finish as much work as she can.

While she was busy reading the revised contract between ARK Corporation and Eco World Development Group for the current project in City K, her mobile received a message. She reached out for the phone and unlock her screen.

Anston: Why didn't you include Nazreen for the holiday? 😎

When Hidayah saw the message, she immediately off her screen. Another notification sound indicating a new message. She ignores it… Alas, the mobile keeps vibrating and ringing continuously to her dismay.

She took her mobile in hand and unlock it again. She saw several messages with a new name in the group chat. Apparently, Hidayat had added Leoneil in the group chat.

Anston: Why didn't you include Nazreen for the holiday? 😎

Hidayat: Yeah… you have to bring your husband along!😞

Daniel: Wait… You got married and didn't tell me??? 😱

Erika: Yeah Hid, Anston and Hidayat are right. You have to bring Nazreen. The two of you can treat the trip as your honeymoon too!

Leoniel: I'm lost!

Hidayat: Hahahaha Leo and Daniel, I'll fill you in later 😂

Erika: Hidayah!!! Hid!!! Why are you ignoring us?! 😂😂😂

Hidayat: Hey, let's ask Jasmine and Luther to join us for the holiday.

Victoria: So the holiday is set? Why didn't ANYONE tell me?

Daniel: Because you're not home yet…

Victoria: I'll be back by tomorrow night 😙

Hidayah: Vicky dear, I emailed you the deets… Didn't you receive them?

Hidayat: The QUEEN has FINALLY responded!!

Hidayah: You all are so noisy! And NO! I DO NOT WANT TO BRING HIM!

Hidayat: Hidayah Loh Mei Ling! By Islamic law, you cannot even go out of the house without his permission.

Hidayah: SO WHAT! HE IS NOT MY HUSBAND 😡😡😡

Anston: 😂😂😂😂 Hidayat, add Nazreen to the group

Hidayah: NO! IF YOU ADD HIM, I WILL EXIT THIS GROUP AND NOT TALK TO YOU ALL

Chat notification: Hidayat has added +67323006789 into the group

Chat notification: Hidayah has left the group

Hidayah threw her mobile towards the wall after exiting the group after she saw the notification. PAK! the mobile bounced up and crashed on the floor, screen cracked…

She leaned against her chair and closed her eyes with her left arm. Her head was aching again. She thought she could take a chance on the holiday to get away from Nazreen.

She had purposely locked herself in her study since afternoon to avoid the man. The only time she saw him was during dinner. Even then, she had kept her silence throughout.

Tok Tok Tok

She could hear someone knocking on her door. "Enter" she answered with her eyes still close.

"I added you back into the group chat," Hidayat's voice resonated in the room. Hidayah opened her eyes and looked at her annoying brother. "You cannot avoid him forever, Hiddy. No matter what happened, he is still your religiously, lawfully wedded husband. Despite the circ.u.mstances, he is still willing to hold true to the marriage right?"

"But…"

"No 'buts' Hiddy, give yourself a chance. Maybe this could be your sole opportunity to find your happiness…" Hidayat interrupted her words to express his opinion. It is time for the woman in the house to find her happiness. No matter how small or short.

He slowly made his way out of the room after saying his piece. He knows that Hidayah was reluctant about the relationship because of what had happened to her last year and also her deteriorating health.
