Hello, dear friend, I come to speak with you again!

Come, good fellow, to not know me you must not pretend.

You and I are old friends it's true!

Let me just force some change on you.

Charm person

Pyrrha wasn't sure how to process Alv's day, but to give that context we might have to roll the clock back a fair bit.

Pyrrha was standing in her training field waiting on Alv's arrival, they had agreed to meet up here before heading back to the inn together. The soft padding of footfalls greeted her as she turned around to find her friend, or who she thought to be her friend approaching her with a hooting creature flying around him. A goofy smile adorned Alv's face as he looked to his would-be traveling companion.

"Hey! Do I have a lot to tell you!" he said grinning like a loon. He then stopped noticing two things. The soft thrumming of magic around Pyrrha, and the presence of it around her new black ensemble.

"Upgrade?" he asked looking at her new attire.

"I could very well ask you the same thing," she said smiling before motioning up to the horns that flickered in and out of existence on him, as well as the markings and scales.

"You first! I want to hear about your experiments with the irons sand!" he said rather excitedly.

"Alright," she said smiling as she began to tell him her tale, minus all the self-reflection. The story had interested him greatly. Then a thought occurred to him.

"You say that your semblance is cycling the naturally occurring energy through you and empowering itself?" he asked his head tilted as it contemplated this.

"Yes, it's quite odd, but not unwelcome. It should prove for more effective combat potential" she smiled. He nodded in return.

"Yeah but you gotta remember this world isn't all about fighting, a fair bit of the work we're gonna have to do to make this place better is gonna center around real change. Both to society as well as their cultural identities," he said nodding at her earlier point but also hoping to keep them on point.

Pyrrha frowned briefly remembering his description of the atrocities that plagued both sides of the isles as it were. She nodded slowly.

She then continued to tell him about the way she could manipulate her semblace and the magnetized sand on her person.

"You know, your semblance is acting sort of like pseudo magic. Maybe your exposure to the fall maiden, even ever so briefly helped your semblance subconsciously understand what it needed to do to adapt to the new energy in the air." he theorized.

"Maybe… maybe if i taught you the spell shocking grasp you could infuse that lightning with your polarity. Even if in the end you are incapable of using magic, it's existence as a lighting spell should work in tandem with your control of polarity enough that you could at least mimic it to some degree." he thought to grin goofily as he imagined her wielding a lightning sword to cut down her foes.

Pyrrha thought about it and decided that it was a fair idea. After agreeing to learn it later from Alv she began.

"Alright, that's fair, we should straighten out our goals first later," she said as he nodded then began to tell her about his day.

He told her everything, from the appearance of the scales to his increased understanding of what he could and could not do. Eventually ending on his increased interest in runes as well as the appearance of Buwan. To say Pyrrha was surprised would be an understatement of the highest order. Confronting these new changes she forced herself to ask her friend.

"Are you even still human?" she asked not out of fear but out of genuine curiosity.

"To a degree yes. I am still human in appearance and biology, but my magic has begun to sort of mimic draconic magic. And my body would adapt to it as I age. So technically I'm half-human and half-dragon born. They're a race of creatures that bear a resemblance to dragons. Their one of the extra-dimensional races that reside here." he explained.

"Near as I can tell, I would be classed as half human half dragon born, an illusory dragon born." he finished.

"Can you use your breath to attack?" she asked. And he had to stop and think about that. The dragons and dragon born were known for their breath weapons as well as their draconian appearance.

"Probably, but it would likely deal psychic damage. So i doubt it would affect any inanimate objects," he said as he really thought about it.

"Well, no time like the present! Try it!" she said as Alv looked at her, she had the same expression on as she did when she was encouraging Jaune during their spars. Nodding he looked away from her and looked within. The changes to his magic had slowly begun to change his body as well. The markings on his skin were projections of his magic but as he looked past them he could see small etchings on his skin. It would be a long time before he could do many of the things full dragon born and dragons could do but maybe, maybe if he reached deep enough.

He contemplated the illusory nature of his magic and focused on the ephemeral quality of it. He inhaled as he focused his mind, with a mighty exhale, what looked to be shattered stain glass powder and light rushed out of his mouth. It did no damage to his surroundings and drained a large portion of his magic pool but it worked. He grinned as he fell on his a.s.s on the ground.

"That… that was a trip" he said grinning at her. Just as he was about to ask her something else the little owl dragon precked irritably. Squawking and batting him with its tiny wing.

"Ah, yeah, Pyrrha this is Buwan, my familiar. Buwan, this is Pyrrha my traveling companion, and hopefully a friend," he said looking to her hopefully.

"Friend," she said smiling before reaching out a finger to touch the little owl dragon. It grinned and began to hop over as an infant would. He smiled proudly. As the two interacted. Eventually, he stopped and began thinking. He saw the melancholy in her eyes as it mixed with pride thinking of her old world and with steel-like resolve he decided something.

"Pyrrha, if you could speak to anyone from your old life who would it be?" he asked as he began cycling his magic, the scales on his form flickering to life and appearing and disappearing around his body at an almost agitated rate.

"My mother," she said as she felt his form began to thrum with power.

"Come here. Think about her, and what you want to say. No more than twenty-five words alright? Also, i can only do this once every other day. This is WAAY above my capabilities as I am right now, but I think I can push myself enough to get this right." he smiled as he didn't reveal that this could likely drain his magic for the entirety of today as well as severely tire him out tomorrow, but for her he would push it.

With a shaky nod and tears building, she approached him as she imagined her mother and what she would say to her. She heard Alv begin the chant as he drew upon the magic of the land to aid in his endeavor. Her own semblance reacting to her subconscious and working to empower him with her own aura. Alv surprised, but unimpeded continued the ritual. Eventually, his chant ended and he looked to her smiling. Nudging her slightly he mouthed the word 'talk' at her smiling.

"Mom? I dont know if you can hear me, but I'm safe. Someone gave me a second chance. I died but I'm alive, somewhere else." she said as she chose her words, both relieved to speak to her mother and frustrated that she couldn't say everything she wanted to.

"Pyrrha? Baby? Is that you? Where ever you are, tell me! Momma's coming! If this is really you, just tell me where you are! Are y-" her message cut out as she spoke past the twenty-five-word limit but Pyrrha got the gist. Smiling she looked at alv expectantly.

"We'll talk to her again tomorrow." he smiled. "Maybe we can even work out a way to bring her here." he smiled.

She nodded as she would spend the night thinking about what to say to her mother before she embraced Alv, causing him to blush.

"Definitely friend," she whispered as she hugged him
