World Of Warcraft: Altered Time

Chapter 14 - Ragefire Part 1

A few days in the Chasm. The biggest excitement was the quest reward Azul received upon coming here. Well all the quest that hinted towards something more for him. Looking back on it he still had troubling wrapping his head around it.

"Haa I knew a spot to start making camp. No bloody mana hearts to do so." Azul grumbled.

"It is so hot in here. Can we take a break?" Nocturne asked. "Why not just set up a guard post?"

"We just started back up 5 minutes ago." Azul looked at her. He stopped once he saw the debuff. Nocturne had pushed her self to hard. While they rested, she practiced spells. After a short rest, she would join him in physical stretches. She did her best to match his training. As well as doing extra on her own that she thought Azul didn't see. "The guard post would draw attention. I cant risk that. Especially with it just being us here. Hah, leaving everyone else behind was a dumb idea. But with our higher levels should make up for everything. Then again.. quantity beats quality."

"I know but.. it is so hot. I am having trouble getting my magic to work properly still. I should have waited to practice the spell instead of doing it for the last break." Nocturne had a new icon appear as a debuff.

(Hysteria. The target becomes fixated on a task. Continued exposure will result in complications. Former Wretched are more suspectable. Bane: Continued exposure will result in a more dutiful soldier. Athena: Continued overcoming will increase the wisdom of target.)

"Fine then. Rest time." Azul then placed a bubble of water around her. At the side a twisting air current pulled the heat out. On the other side, cool air came in. The small amounts if it anyway. 'Blasted thing. Glad I found out how this affects the wretched more.'

"Thank you so much. I will rest this time and do nothing else." Nocturne sat quietly absorbing the mana.

"Not a problem. I need you in fighting shape in case something happens Nocturne, so relax a little." Azul then starts to mutter a spell matrix absorbing the mana on the ground. "Have to get this ready. When we do find the heart location, I can drop these quickly. Hopefully, we won't need to."

"I know.. but thanks anyway.. sorry for being a burden again..." Nocturne said meekly. 'I have to finish that spell soon. Then I will be back to my old self. Hopefully, he does not regret it. Hopefully, I dont regret it. I wonder how much stronger I will be?'

"That is enough of that. It is the fumes talking." Azul finished the last one and walked into the bubble and got behind her. "No more training for me. Or prep for that matter. I am gonna flush your system and get you back to normal."

"Thanks.." she started to say before he pinched her. "Ow."

"None of that. I need my confident priestess back." Azul was not joking. A confident priest of her skill would make things a lot easier in here.

"Ok. Sure you dont want to just touch me?" Nocturne joked. She felt a little flush enter her cheeks. It was not from the heat of the chasm.

"That to. Now shush." Azul channeled the mana and helped her along. After she was good he pulled her into his embrace. 'I need to distribute my class's around before I freaking forget again.' He was opening her mana passageways. Something that Ks insisted on him to do for her.

Azul only received one stat point increase per level. However, he was able to equip multiple classes at once. Or he could switch though as he pleased. The latter had drawbacks. The decrease in mana and health to the respected class and equipment associated with the change. The other way no problems with switching. Just made leveling up harder. With him never taking equipment besides just feeding it into what he had already that was moot.

Every weapon and armor that was doable was recycled if it was better than his current loadout. The rest was placed in inventory to be given to the troops. Azul also needed to create another home base. His stats would grow once he did. The only one he had so far was the capital. To much mana to make the second. Which was the purpose of coming to the dungeon with just himself and Nocturne.

The others were ordered to prep getting one ready for his return. Which was a year's time here. But a lot less back there. At least that was what he was lead to believe once he got here. Talking to Ks was exhausting. Time fluctuations with the dungeon was changing things.

'Hah, this will have to do. I need to absorb mana for myself while here. Also, need to get those corpses back and deposited. Killing all those elementals should help uncover something.' Azul thought as he moved his on Nocturne. 'I need to hit level 30. Equipping the fourth class will be great for the way I fight.'

Feeling a ping on his map, Azul checked it. A few enemies were coming this way. A steady pace and quite the numbers at that.

"Hey, I thought you said.. mmmh hmmh." Nocturne was muffled. Azul put his hand over her mouth. He held her close as they moved against the wall. Looking from him to where his eyes went, she saw what caught his attention. 'The target. Two of them at that.'

A red Satyr was walking. Above his head was the Id tag Bazzalan level 16 and Taragman the hungerer. A felguard level 17. A few Troggs walked behind them.

Not wanting to risk it, Azul channeled his magic slowly. Triggering the racial ability shadowmeld that he acquired from the night elves, he pulled her tighter. So close he had to send his armor away to remove the gap. The magic went over her as well. Obscuring them from the senses and sight even more so, the two stopped breathing and used their magic to keep them alive.

8 minutes later the group was gone. Gone enough that they relaxed. Releasing Nocturne slowly, Azul motioned for her to stay there. "Get your bearings back. I will move ahead." He switched to the Rogue ability and slowly went out. Circling around he found nothing. Checking the walls and a few oddball footprints, he found nothing still. 'What the hell?!' It wasn't until he saw Nocturne health take a hit, did he realize his mistake.

"Dammit." Dashing back he was amazed at what he saw. 'Shit thats just hot..."

Nocturne had killed all the enemies around her. She was currently looting. She even had a little hum going on. A bit of magic instilled in it as well. It was holy energy. Observing closer he noticed fel energy that brushed against it was consumed and turned into regular arcane energy. It was small an minuscule. If he wasn't looking so close, he would have not noticed it. Azul walked up to her slowly coming out of stealth.

"Hey, your back." Nocturne smiled. That was not the alarming part. The blood on her face didn't even bother her.

Did she fall to corruption maybe? "You ok?" He looked at her skeptically. Hoping she didnt go crazy or was going to. A quick check on her icons said everything was fine.

"Of course." Seeing his expression she was a little alarmed. "Are you ok?"

"Yeah..." Azul couldn't say she looking dangerously hot right now. That would be just rude. Right? He felt the teachings of Bane encourage him to do so. He left it alone though. Much more serious things to do.

"Is it the blood? I will clean it up." Nocturne wiped the blood off her face. "There better?"

"That didnt bother me. How did you do all this?"

"Oh, well.. me and Demona fused back and separated before coming here." Nocturne rubbed her shoulder a little bit. "I needed my personality back kind of. You said it yourself. I didn't want to die here and fail you. It also gave her more morality when we did so. So win-win."

"I am understanding a little now." Azul was helping her pick up the loot. "What else?"

"Well.. I a was only decent in sword work. As well as magic so I became a battle mage. When that failed.. I turned to the demonic arts and became a warlock. Kalar told you wrong. I didnt correct him since.. since fel magic is frowned upon to some." Nocturne's voice was a little low. "But then when you fixed us and then separated me.. all I had left was my so so talent and a lack of my confidence. Then the priest abilities well they work easily for me. But studying for it is crazy hard."

"So do you wish to quit it?"

"Nope. I love it actually. With the help of Ks, I am getting better in everything else. I am a Battle Mage and a Priest. Your personal Priest at that." Nocturne came up behind Azul while he was squatting looking at a red rock intently. "Cant get rid of me that easily. Also someone called Athena told me to stay. Keep you grounded. "

"Did not plan on it. With that skill of what you did to them, it will be easier for us to push forward. After we take out a few more mobs of course." Azul said looking at the rock then to the bodies. 'This rock is weird. These bodies were cut to shreds. So Demona has training in Bane's sword style. Now Nocturne does as well.' Feeling her behind him, Azul turned. "What is it?"

"You ran like hell when my health took a hit. You are a softy it seems." Nocturne teased. "It is refreshing to see. I thought you were running because of enemies. But there weren't anymore."

"Well yeah, I cant be all hard a.s.s and merciless all the time. I would go bananas if I do. Also different approaches to different things." Standing up put it away in his inventory. "Ugh it will take to long to figure out what this is right now. We need to move forward."

"Yes." Nocturne smiling. Her face had a grin plastered on it. Her sword still in her hand. Magic was working on repairing her clothes and armor. Her health was already back to full with her mana only a little low. "So what do we do about the Tauren?"

"What Tauren?" Azul asked and looked around. "I dont see a Tauren."

"The orcs I killed were on there way to him. He is in danger." Nocturne said. "His name was Bovaal Whitehorn the said."

"Try to convince him to come with us. That or kill him. That way we get his knowledge and we know of a way to use it back in our timeline." Azul said expanding the mao. A green dot was far down the cavern. A direction they hadn't gone to yet. "Open to suggestions."

"I like that plan. Besides.. if he doesn't, he will die when the place collapses anyway."
