Xavier's girl

Chapter 53 - 8

The plane took an hour ago, I haven't said a word to Xavier. He sat on the other side, his head buried in his laptop. I could hear him clicking away on it, whatever ever he was writing it had his entire attention. He didn't look up when Amelia works up screaming, he didn't look up when the air hostess asked him if he wants a drink.

"Are you okay now?" I ask Amelia, I changed her wet diaper on the chair next to me. I wipe the tears of her wide eyes, I knew she wouldn't be sleeping tonight. Her nap was too long.

Positioning her on my thighs, so she could watch the tiny tv in front of us to keep her occupied. I hug her a little tighter than usual—I missed her. She has gotten so big. Her hair was getting fuller and darker, her eyes getting lighter.

"What shall we watch?" I ask her as if she understands me,

"This one?" I stop on paw patrol, looking down at her for a reply instead she was busy sucking on my hand.

I glanced at Xavier like I said he wasn't here on the plane. Physically he was but his head wasn't. I was still irritated with what happened, but I couldn't let that affect the time I was spending with Amelia.

I will handle with him later, I won't let him speak to me like that. I wasn't the same naive silly girl from high school, I won't let him control me. I am my own woman now, I don't need him to keep me save. I will find the time to have a conversation with him.

"Would you like me to serve the meal now Mrs Knight?" I looked up alarmed when I heard that, the pretty hostess was smiling down at me.

"I'm not Mrs Knight," I say awkwardly not wanting look Xavier's way.

"Oh, I'm sorry Ma, I just assumed." Her pale cheeks flush

"It's fin....."

"Next time, don't assume," Xavier say out of nowhere surprising the both of us.

"I'm so sorry sir," she whispers I could see the fear in her eyes.

"Ignore him," I wave my finger in Xavier's direction.

"And if you don't mind serving the food now," I tell her so she could excuse herself

"Why do you have to be so rude?" I ask Xavier once the hostess left us

"What do you mean?" He asked cluelessly,

"It would hurt you to be kind people?"

"Am I not kind to you?" He raised his brows in questioning

"You! Kind to me." I laugh and Amelia joined me as if she knew why I was laughing.

"See even your daughter agrees,"

"She doesn't why she's laughing," he rolled his eyes

"Your Daddy isn't nice right?" I pick her up so I could look at her face. She's mumbles gibberish, her saliva going on my top. I kiss her wet cheeks peeking at Xavier.

His laptop was now closed, he was staring at us a little smile on his face. He needs a shave, I thought. His beard was getting fuller. A few of his buttons were undone allowing me to see his chest. I move my gaze to his green eyes, his eyes were too intense so I look away.

"Here," the hostess was back with a silver tray

"Thank you," I tell her as she place on the table.

"We have maple glazed salmon fillet," she takes the lid off.

"Same for you Sir," she placed one on Xavier's table

"Would you like a glass of wine?" She asked me

"No thanks," I wasn't breastfeeding can't drink.

"If you need anything just press the button," she nods and walks off

I hold Amelia back as she reaches for the food, "do you want me to hold her?" Xavier asked when he sees he struggling with her.

"No, you need to eat" he looks like he needs the food.

"I will manage," she wasn't making that much fuss. He looks unsure for a second before picking up his fork and knife.

"You can take her into the room and place her in the crib for a nap," he points at the door on the far end of the plane.

"She won't be sleeping any time soon," I chuckle

"Oh no! Amelia," I yell when she threw up the yoghurt I just fed her all over my shirt. I place her in the car sit getting up, I had her white vomit all over me now.

"You shouldn't have given her too much," Xavier says in an I told you so tone, I rolled my eyes cause he was warning me to stop feeding her.

"Just watch her," I say annoyed at him, I head to the so-called room. It should have a bathroom.

The room was bigger than I expected, there were a crib and a bed in the room. It wasn't spacious but two people could fit inside. There was a bag on the bed, I knew it was Xavier's. Walking to it, opening it hoping there was something I could wear.

Heading to the bathroom, I pluck a clean towel folded on then take it the wet clothes off me. Padding over toward the vanity, I pluck my clothes off the counter, taking stock of the wore out t-shirt I found in his bag—hope he doesn't mind. I frown, holding the shirt in my palm. Are these...mine? The looked too small to be his, definitely looked like something I wore before.

Using the towel to cover my naked chest, I storm out not expecting to see his standing in the room. He's standing there, head bent, doing something on his phone. Bored eyes lift to mine, but I don't miss the flash of hunger in them before he conceals it. I throw the shirt at him and they hit his face before he snatches them.

"Why did you keep those?" I demand. Beads of water roll off my chest. I look and feel like a crazy person, but I'm past caring

"Don't flatter yourself. They've been here since you left them."

Left them? My cheeks burn when I realize what night he's referring to. I pad across the floor, closing the distance between us. "For a year?" I ask sceptically. Why did he pack it?

He shrugs.

"God, Xavier, why are you so confusing?" My eyes search his for answers I know I won't find.

"You tell me to come with you, you don't want me in the same house with you." My voice lowers to a whisper. "You touch me and say your gonna spank me..."

"Does it make you mad?" he asks, his voice sounding like gravel.

"That your brain wants to hate me, but your body...your body fucking loves me." He rubs a thumb across my cheek, capturing my face.

"But you let me touch you anyway because you can't resist me, can you? And you can't fucking stand that about yourself."

His smug tone infuriates me. Even more so because there's small truth to it. But I straighten my shoulders, deciding to gain the upper hand

"I could say the same about you," I start, toying with the knot in my towel with my fingers. His eyes follow the movement as he scrapes his teeth over his bottom lip.

"You can't seem to stay away from me, and you hate yourself for it, don't you?" His eyes tighten at the corners, and I know I'm getting to him.

"You're playing with fire, Vanessa," he warns, taking a step back, but I continue anyway— not sure why.

"The only difference is I'm the one having my needs met without having to give anything in return." I lied

Summoning confidence I don't feel, I drop my towel, letting it fall to the floor with a whoosh. My breast was the only part naked.

Xavier's throat bobs when he swallows, and he loses the fight to keep his gaze from falling to my chest. The cold air has my nipples tightening almost painfully as I watch his hungry eyes roam my body.

"It seems to me that you're the one getting the short end of the stick in this scenario." I try to snatch the shirt from his grip, but he holds them out of reach, high above his head.

I lunge for them and his free arm bands around my waist, spinning me around before he tackles me to the bed. He settles in between my legs, his chest against mine.

"First of all," he starts, pushing his groin into me. "Who's to say my needs aren't being met by Cara?"

I practically growl, shoving him away, but he pins my arms above my head. "Second, you're going to pay for that later."

My chest heaves as he holds my gaze, his mouth lowering to place a gentle kiss on the tip of my nipple. I shiver, feeling wetness pool between my legs, but the sound of Amelia crying makes me freeze. Xavier smirks knowingly before he pushes off me, then he's throwing my shirt at me. I catch them as they land on my chest and scowl up at him.

"Get dressed and the baby needs you."

He turns and steps out, shutting the door behind him.

I groan, swiping the clothes from my chest. How the hell does he always win?
