Chapter 74 Part 2:  Fake and Real

“First, observe what we’re doing, and when we tell you to shoot, shoot some arrows, too. You’ll get some field experience that way.”

“Okay. Okay.”

I replied, after looking over at the fake Lee Eun-Woo.

‘It’s more plausible than I thought.’

Of course, his lightning was weaker and smaller than the one Lee Eun-Woo releases, but if someone who didn’t know him saw it, they could be fooled.

‘However, if it was really Lee Eun-Woo who casted it, the power that went up the wire would have also injured Choi Pyeong-Hwa.’

That lightning attack didn’t feel like a flow of magic, so he couldn’t be a mage.

‘Maybe… That bracelet he has… Is an item.’

A bracelet with colorful engravings glittered on the wrist of the fake Lee Eun-Woo.

It was normally hidden around his robe, but it was clearly visible as it blew in the wind earlier.

‘The item must be able to do some kind of skill imitation.’

Well, that bracelet is something I’d definitely want more than the others.

Items with offensive skills are expensive enough to make me want to vomit but this one is definitely worth it.

It’s better to have an extra attack tool, when I’m mostly relying on my own abilities to get through gates.

‘Is that… an enchanted item?’

I looked at the fake Lee Eun-Woo with an eager eye for an opportunity.

Boom!

An arrow suddenly went flying and hit the ground before it could even get near the monster.

“Ah… You’re strong.”

Kook Tae-Min said in consolation.

Well I thought so too.

‘My accuracy is terrible, but every time I shoot, it pierces through the floor… He’s right, my stats aren’t that of a beginner after all. It’s not easy for an arrow to pierce through the ice, but it’s not hard for me.’

「Keh-eh-eh!」

“Mmm!”

The monster that hadn’t been hit by the arrow paused for a moment before charging at Min Seo-Joon again.

The more time passed, the harder it was for Min Seo-Joon.

“Uh… Shall I try one more time?”

“Yes.”

I pinched another arrow and pulled back the string of my bow.

I saw the twins do it this way—- pull it till it’s taut, pull the bowstring to the point where it trembles to the side, aim at the target, then fire!

Bam!

This time, only the bottom of the ice floor was hit again.

“Haha!”

Kook Tae-Min laughed this time.

“It’s okay, we’ll finish it!”

My heart ached even more because of his consolidation.

‘I’m not a ranger…’

I swallowed the words I couldn’t get out.

‘I’ve been holding a bow for days since I came in, and I’m not getting any better.’

In the end, I had to slip back and watch the others finish.

They probably run a lot of dungeon carries, and have become experts on killing these loose ice spirits.

“I think it’s a little difficult to hit from the back with… Seo-Ha’s skills.”

Kook Tae-min said cautiously.

I agreed.

I know that my bow skills were hopeless.

“For the next battle, why don’t you try standing in front, and shooting right behind Mr. Min Seo-Joon?”

“Sure. I’ll try.”

“In the meantime, we’ll stay as far back as we can and watch, you know, because if you’re going to say anything in the interview, you’ll have to step up and get some experience〜.”

“Okay. I see.”

After my reply, Kook Tae-Min gestured to Choi Pyeong-hwa.

It was for him to bring a monster, and do the aggro.

If I think about it, this sort of Dungeon Carry isn’t so bad.

Except for the fact that they’re impersonating Lee Eun-Woo, it’s still better than I expected.

There was nothing wrong with this kind of crash course service for new hunters, and as long as they didn’t cheat on their specs, it was actually somewhat recommended.

“Oh, here comes the monsters! Try it!”

‘Monsters?’

I looked ahead in disbelief, and there they were, literally.

‘Five of them?’

No.

How am I supposed to deal with that?

Questions kept piling up in my head, but I was already alone with Min Seo-Joon.

“… I’ll stop them.”

Min Seo-Joon raised his shield.

I secretly wanted to pull out my gun.

‘No matter how I look at it, this looks like a huge fuck you from them!’

Does it make sense to give five to a Ranger who can’t even shoot an arrow right?

「Kegegegeg!」

Poof!

I was shooting my arrows at close range, so I had no trouble hitting them, but there were too many of them.

I’d shoot one, and another would come at me from behind, and I’d shoot that one, and the one I’d hit earlier would barrel back in.

“Is this… Something we can do?”

“You can do it, Han Seo-Ha!”

Choi Pyeong-Hwa shouted softly.

Easy for them to say when they’re all watching at the back!

‘Should I just give up?’

I had the urge to pull out my gun and just shoot them all.

“I’m sorry.”

Min Seo-Joon suddenly whispered in a low voice.

“What? What…”

I knew what was going on even before he finished speaking.

Choi Pyeong-Hwa’s wire snaked down and skillfully wrapped around Min Seo-Joon.

I then saw him nonchalantly put his center of gravity on the wire.

In the blink of an eye, the shield that was blocking between me and the monster disappeared.

‘What?’

「keeeeere!」

The Loose ice spirit bared its teeth and lunged at me.

‘I See.’

So that’s what they were up to.

I quickly drew a dagger from my waistband and shoved it into the ice spirit’s mouth.

「Aaahhh」

It made a violent, and murderous sound.

“Did you plan on doing this from the very beginning?”

I shouted to the bastards behind me, who were waiting for me to die.

“Of course. Who would be so naïve as to follow a stranger they’ve never met before?”

Kook Tae-Min sneered, with one corner of his mouth twitching upward.

(T/N: Who would be so stupid as to bring in a stranger they didn’t know into their team you mean? Y’all are dead xD)
