2 Years Of Restarting

Long Ying sighed. "Go to Bungalow Apartment."

"Yes, Boss."

Lan Huo had already knew what had happened in the apartment, so he understood why Long Ying didn't want Yu Yan to come there. Internally, he also felt a bit bad because he understood very well that those people were practically selling their neighbor out.

They didn't care whether what they said was the truth or not as long as they could earn the money.

After all, those who lived in that apartment was mostly people who were at the middle social strata. They couldn't earn thousands of Yuan so easily like what Bao Tu offered to them.

Thus, they agreed.

Lan Huo only sighed internally as he drove the car to the apartment and waited there while Long Ying and Yu Yan went up. He looked at his phone and silently calculated the time needed for Yu Yan to meet with her neighbors.

Yu Yan reached the fourth floor of the F building in Bungalow Apartment and looked around. There was barely anyone at this time but she chose to walk forwards. The door towards the room 406, her previous room, was closed properly.

But at this time, Yu Yan felt that she still could see the disgusting scene from back then.

She took a deep breath.

The door beside her opened and a middle aged woman came out. She looked at Yu Yan with surprise. "Miss Yu?"

"Aunt Su." Yu Yan nodded and smiled. 

"I was so surprised when there's commotion last week. Aiya, you look skinnier now, Miss Yu!" Aunt Su looked at Yu Yan and felt her heart ached a bit. That incident must have hurt Yu Yan's heart. 

"I'm fine, Aunt Su. May I ask what happened last week after I left?" Yu Yan asked carefully because she didn't know whether she should ask or not. She knew that whatever the answer would be, it would be anything but good.

She might not be ready to receive everything that was thrown to her.

"That..." Aunt Su hesitated for a moment before she sighed. "Several people come here and the two people inside your apartment are taken away. They leave in a hurry that they didn't even care for anything else."

"Several people come?"

"Yes, they're men with suits, look like bodyguards or something and…"

Yu Yan could recall that Bao Tu was the heir of Bao Family. It would not be weird for him to have a lot of people who followed him around and protected him. Even though she had never seen them before, she had heard about those bodyguards from the person in question before.

'I see, he's using the bodyguards to protect Yu Xin then leave the scene.'

Lowering her eyelids, Yu Yan's eyes flashed with coldness for a moment. She could not forget how he treated her like trash and didn't even care about the fact that he had been chasing after her for so long.

She herself thought that she would also feel hurt when she heard of his care to Yu Xin. But now that she had heard everything, Yu Yan didn't feel anything.

No sadness, no anger, no rage.

She only felt emptiness and coldness that was permeating from deep within her body.

"Aunt Su!" the door opposite of them opened. A middle aged man stood there and looked at the woman in front of him. "Did you forget that we're not allowed to speak about the matter."

"What are you talking about? We're only not allowed to speak to the authorities! She just wants to know what happen there and not what we're told to talk afterwards!" Aunt Su retorted.

The middle aged man snorted and then looked at Yu Yan before shaking his head lightly. He silently closed the door once more, leaving the three of them outside.

What they're told to say?

Yu Yan noticed the middle aged man as the kind neighbor who often helped her out. He was someone who was no longer young and his children were not accomplished, so his life was not easy. However, he often helped the others when they needed.

But hearing what he said and the look he gave her, Yu Yan knew that the middle aged man was told something. He was not allowed to say some certain things that had occurred before.

'So…'

Yu Yan turned to look at Long Ying. He had impassive gaze towards the people there but when he looked at Yu Yan, his eyes showed concern. His silver eyes were looking deep into her as if he could see deep within her heart.

'He already knows that.'

It was only now Yu Yan realized that Long Ying didn't want to bring her back to this Bungalow Apartment because he knew that the people were already bribed. And with their current living condition, they were in no position to reject. 

They were nobodies or at least, they were nothing in Bao Tu's eyes.

If Bao Tu wanted them to disappear from City A, it would be as easy as lifting a finger. He didn't even need to work hard and with just an order, it was easily achievable. 

Out of fear or out of greed, these people chose to accept the money and stay silent of the matter.

"Aunt Su, you're not allowed to talk?" Yu Yan asked slowly, her voice was slightly hoarse because she felt so complicated. Her neighbors chose to sell her out. But thinking about it, she was not close to either of them to the point that they would be willing to sacrifice their future for her.

They would rather pick the save way.

Unfortunately, their decision only drove her further away from them. 

Aunt Su paused for a moment before she nodded heavily. "Yes… several men come to us and told us that we're not allowed to tell outsider, especially authorities about what happened back then.. In addition, we're also to say that they didn't come uninvited but… you invite them."
