2 Years Of Restarting

"Lan Huo."

Lan Huo, who was about to call An Lin to ask for help, immediately froze. The cold tone of his Boss was utterly familiar to him. He turned around and saw Long Ying walked out of the kitchen while carrying a cloth in his hand. 

"Y…Yes Boss?"

"City F recently had a problem. Go there and settle it. You have one day."

Lan Huo nearly dropped to the ground when he heard what Long Ying ordered him to do. It was not rare for problems to crop up in City F because Dragon Clan's influence in that city was still quite low. The problem was that it would be impossible for him to finish it within one day.

Wasn't it the same as telling him that he would certainly be punished?

"Boss, isn't one day a bit…"

"Hmm?" Long Ying arched his eyebrows, his silver eyes were showing dark glint.

Lan Huo knew that he shouldn't push his luck and immediately nodded. "Yes, Boss. I'll depart right away!"

Internally, Lan Huo was crying. He only barged into one session when Long Ying and Yu Yan were kissing. What if he barged in when the two of them had started to take off their clothes?

He was sure that he would be buried alive underground with no chance of coming back to live in the slightest bit.

Yu Yan only came out after calming herself down in the room. She looked at Long Ying with her face slightly flushed. Whenever she saw him, she couldn't help but remember his sudden kiss from before.

She still felt so embarrassed.

"Is it done?" Yu Yan asked slowly.

Long Ying pointed to the oven. "It's still baking. The timer is still working."

"Oh."

Seeing Yu Yan's cheek were still red, Long Ying knew that he shouldn't try anything more for today. Hmm, maybe he could try again later when the two of them were alone. He wouldn't want to have another interruption from those annoying people again.

Ding!

The timer was done and the cake was baked. Yu Yan pulled the tray out of the oven carefully by wearing a pair of thick gloves. Behind her, Long Ying watched her intently, worried that she might accidentally scalded herself.

Putting the tray on the table, Yu Yan smiled brightly. "Let's try to taste it."

"Isn't it hot?"

"I can cut it and wait a bit." Yu Yan pursed her lips. She took a knife and slowly cut the cake into two. Afterwards, she cut the cake into several pieces and made sure that they were all mostly the same.

Long Ying looked at the cake and wondered. "I thought that you'll also make the cream for cake."

The cake that Yu Yan baked was plain. It was a very simple chocolate cake with no accessory on top of it. Well, if a cake like this was put in the bakery, it was clear that no one would bother to take a look at it.

"Making the cream will take a long time." Yu Yan held an awkward smile. "Do you like the cream?"

"Just this should be enough." Long Ying couldn't even bake properly, so he thought that if they had to make the cream too, it was clear that Yu Yan would have to teach him again. At that time, the kitchen might get destroyed for real because he couldn't really cook.

Yu Yan nodded. She glanced at the kitchen and recalled how Long Ying handled the mixture just now. "Can you cook, Ying?"

"I only know how to cook simple dishes," Long Ying replied awkwardly. He didn't really want to admit this, but he couldn't really cook that well since he rarely cooked for himself. With him being so busy, the one who took care of his food was usually Auntie Yun.

"Such as?"

"Instant noodles, fried egg, boiled egg…."

Listening to Long Ying's words, Yu Yan was convinced that Long Ying truly needed a crash course about cooking. All the dishes he mentioned was very simple and didn't really need that much skill. Internally, Yu Yan wondered whether she would have the time to teach him with him being so busy most of the time.

Yu Yan pointed at the cake. "Let's eat the cake."

"Feed me."

"Come here, you're too tall."

Long Ying bent down a bit and Yu Yan raised the cake piece to his mouth. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw him so close and opened his mouth. She put the cake into his mouth and his lips accidentally touch her hand.

Her face turned a shade redder as Yu Yan quickly retracted her hand. She asked, "H… How is it?"

"It's pretty good." Long Ying smiled. "Feed me again?"

"Eat by yourself." Yu Yan refused and used the fork to pick a piece for her. Eating the cake, she nodded to herself. The softness was on point. It seemed that asking Long Ying to help was not bad.

The couple continued to eat a few more pieces before Long Ying stored the rest of the cake in the fridge. In any case, it was impossible for the two of them to eat such a big cake in one go.

The next day, Yu Yan had to prepare herself for the engagement party. After their daily routine, she stayed in the bedroom and began to search for suitable dress. She had been thinking about what to wear on this day but the dressed in her wardrobe were all really good. This made her conflicted.

"Have you finished?"

"Not yet…" Yu Yan finally chose peach colored dress. It has elegant style and looked exceedingly beautiful the more one looked at it. After changing her dress, Yu Yan looked at her own reflection in the mirror and nodded to herself. Yep, it was not bad at all.

Ring! Ring!

Her phone rang and Yu Yan picked it up. The number was unknown, though. 

"Hello."

"Yu Yan, it's me, Zhou Wei!" 

Zhou Wei?

For a moment, Yu Yan couldn't remember any Zhou Wei until she recalled that she did encounter someone with this name in the party not long before. It seemed that this was the girl who stepped forward for her and helped to explain the real situation regarding Bao Tu to the other party members.

"Ah yes, Zhou Wei. What is it?"

"Don't tell me that you forget about me?" Zhou Wei asked suspiciously.

Yu Yan could only let out a dry laugh. She had to admit that she forgot a bit about Zhou Wei. After all, she had only met the other party when she was in High School and since then, didn't really contact each other anymore.

"What is it, Zhou Wei?"

"Ah, there'll be high school reunion in a few days. I'm asking whether you want to join or not since we're calculating the amount of food we need to order. You have never come before and almost everyone had already forgotten about you by now," Zhou Wei complained.

"Hmm, wait a moment."

"Yes?"

Yu Yan held the phone to prevent it from hearing her conversation with Long Ying. "Ying, there'll be high school reunion in a few days. Do you want to come?"

Long Ying, who was waiting behind the door, arched his eyebrows. Unlike Yu Yan who didn't even keep a single one of her high school's classmates' number, Long Ying still kept in contact with a few people. He did remember that one of them messaged him about the reunion and his answer back then was that 'wait and see.'

"Do you want to come?"

"Hmm, I'm a bit curious how the others are. I already forgot most of them but there are still some whom I remember," Yu Yan admitted.

"Then come. I'll accompany you."

"Thank you, Ying!" Yu Yan raised her phone again and replied briskly. "Sure, I'll come to the reunion Zhou Wei."

"That's great! I'll send you the detail. Ah, it'll be held in the Capital City. Do you have any problem with transportation? Some of our classmates are living in other cities too, so they might not come."

"It's fine, I'm in the capital city."

"Okay. Remember to save my number!" After saying that, Zhou Wei hung up. 

Yu Yan looked at her phone screen speechlessly but she still kept Zhou Wei number in case she forgot later. Afterwards, she finished dressing up and applied some makeup.

"Are you done?" Long Ying asked again when the door was finally opened. He was wondering just how long could it take for a woman to dress up as it was already more than an hour. Just what did she do inside?

But looking at the beautiful Yu Yan in front of him, Long Ying felt that even waiting for a day was fine. 

"Sorry, did I take too long?"

"It's fine, you're pretty."

Yu Yan beamed.

At the side, An Lin resisted the urge to roll his eyes. Boss, you had just complained about her taking so much time just now!
