A New Life: Unwanted Marriage

Anhao and Shijun spent a total of two hours and forty minutes on the road before getting to the Yin family house and by the time they had arrived the party had already began as most of the guests had arrived so the Yin family couldn't help but to start without the couple .

As Shijun and Anhao arrived they walked together into the Hall where the party was being held , as soon as the door was opened everyone turned around to see who it was that had just entered and they all stared at the couple , as expected everyone knew who Shijun was but nobody knew who Qaio Anhao was , although her family was also very rich she had always preferred to keep a low profile and she had not stayed in china for long before she left for the states with her mother and after she returned apart from her office and the mall to shop Anhao barely went anywhere so nobody knew who she was . But her cousin was a different case entirely practically the whole country knew who Qaio Ning , she was on tabloid covers , always at the current parties and everything . Qaio Ning had loved being in the spotlight whereas Anhao had been the reserved type but it didn't stop Qaio Ning from hating her or getting jealous over nothing although Anhao had barely come out of her shell but when she did she drew all the attention of the people around her and that was what annoyed Qaio Ning the most about her , the thing that pushed her to get everything Anhao had .

As Anhao and Shijun walked into the party all the guests began to murmur

" who is that woman with Yin Shijun ?" some asked , those who had wanted Shijun for themselves looked at Anhao in anger but those who simply wanted a good life were jealous because she had acquired such a rich man , for most of the Noble families marriage was about making money , merging companies or saving businesses so most people had assumed it was a business move made by both Shijun and Anhao's families but they wondered why

' was it an old arrangement between families ?' or ' was it a love match ' or were they simply just here as each other's dates but Shijun had never been one to attend any event with a date , he had always come alone and left alone .

The speculation died down when Mama Yin took to the stage with a microphone

" Can I have everyone's attention please " she said in her sweet voice , when everyone turned their attention to the inbuilt stage she continued " Tonight's celebration is not a casual party but an engagement party , it is to celebrate the engagement of my dear son Yin Shijun and our daughter-in-law to be Qaio Anhao " .

Shijun slowly lead Anhao through the crowd an on to the stage to give a toast before the party begun .

After the toast they both came down from the stage and mingled with the crowd while Shijun introduced her to everyone in the room , Anhao acted like the perfect socialite smiling when she needed to , laughing when she needed to and talking when she was supposed to , after all the long hours of fake smiles and pretentious congratulations from women who liked like they were waiting for an opportunity to tear her head of her shoulders the party finally came to an end but that was just the beginning as they still had a family only get together to attend that evening .

After all the guests were escorted out of the house , the entire Yin family gathered in the main study in the house which was where family meeting we're usually held , the purpose was for them to meet Anhao and become familiar with her .

Shijun took Anhao to the study as they awaited the rest of the Yin family , after five minutes of awkward silence the entire family began to turn up one after the other and last but not the least was Shijun's father .

Yin shaoting was a very large man , who had a cold and aloof look just like his son .

the phrase like father like son popped into Anhao's mind the moment she saw Shaoting .

Shaoting took his seat at the head of the table which was like a silent permission for everyone to take a seat . As soon as everyone took a seat he spoke

" Qaio Anhao it's a p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e to finally meet you " his tone had sarcasm dripping from it but Anhao wasn't phased , she smiled at him

" Nice to meet you too Papa Yin " she replied .

Seeing that she wasn't affected by his words he turned to Shijun

" Yin Shijun your fiancee arrived about a week ago and you just kept her locked up in that estate of yours " his father bellowed . Shijun had a sudden urge to scream ' how had he kept her locked up ! , was it even possible to keep her confined in one place for a long time ! ' he scoffed at the thought of Anhao confined and almost let out a laugh as he remembered how she threatened to drive into his gate if his guards didn't let her out of the estate , because of Shaoting's question everyone had turned the attention to Shijun so when they saw him smile they were all shocked . Even his family had rarely seen him smile , his face was usually as cold and unreadable as his father's but that child actually smiled it was like a dream for them .

Even Shaoting was shocked

' Did my son just smile ' he asked himself in confusion , only one person was not shaken and that was Anhao because seeing Shijun smiled was almost an everyday occurrence for her , she even wondered why everyone looked like they had just seen something impossible
