An Innocent Heart Longing For Love

Early in the morning, Anna rose up from the cold floor and staggered to the bathroom as she sneezed profoundly and her head hurt pretty hard. She held her head to support the ache, as she touched her forehead, she realized that her temperature was higher than usual.

Rejecting her physical condition, she walked ahead to the bathroom to refresh herself, she let the hot shower fall on her and she didn't even care to undo the dress that she wore from yesterday morning. Only after she got completely soaked, she realized that her jeans were griping her t.h.i.g.h making her hard to stand steady.

She slowly undressed and let the hot water touch her b.a.r.e skin. The hot touch made her body tremble uncomfortably, she quickly pulled a towel and wrapped herself in it and got out of the place staggering in her way even worse.

She sat down in the dressing table and looked at her own image in the mirror, her face was so pale and her lips looked like white chalk. There was no trace of color left in her face, her conscience questioned her, 'Are you trying to kill yourself?!'

A chuckle escaped her lips and she murmured as she dried her hair, "Is it possible?"

A gentle breeze entered through the open window and swept through the entire room and when it made contact with her b.a.r.e collarbone it raised goosebumps in her upper body and instantly her shoulder trembled. She walked to the closet to chose a sweater and a thick long skirt which would keep her warm and cozy and she dr.a.p.ed the dress on her.

Anna walked down the stairs a little steady by now. Although her face revealed her illness, once the maid noticed that the mistress looked little different today, She enquired, "Madam! Are you fine, may I call the doctor to take a look at you?"

"No! I am fine! Did Shane come back home, Is there any news?"

"Not yet! Guards have taken action to find his whereabouts, Master would be fine!" Maid gazed at the pale-skinned woman who was acting more m.a.t.u.r.ed just in one dawn.

"Call my personal bodyguard!" Anna ordered her maid for the first time which made the maid to think, 'What got into the young mistress today, Is she possessed?!'

"Yes, Madam!" She walked fast to catch up the guard to inform. The guard arrived immediately and reported at once.

"Did you find Shane?" Anna asked him in a gentle tone.

"Madam! Mr. Shane is fine. We found him heavily drunk in one of his usual visiting clubhouses and momentarily he is resting in the room arranged by the clubhouse manager."

Anna gulped down the saliva, She never once heard or witnessed Shane be drunk, 'Is this his first time, Is it because of me?'

She sighed before throwing him the next question, "Is there any development in the investigation of who was tracking me?"

The guard didn't except that Anna would get engaged in this subject, "We got a minor clue in the investigation and naturally all the investigation details were passed to Mr. Shane and your Mother-in-law."

"What was that?" Anna's eyebrows creased as her heart yearned to know the piece of information.

"We gathered the security footage from the nightclub and after a thorough examination, we found that Mr.Jacob and Miss Aaliyah might be involved in this case in one way or another. Still, it looks like they were trying to help you but we cannot rule out the possibility of threats from them."

"Aaliyah?!" Hearing Aaliyah name from the guard gave a shock to her entire body system. Never in this life span, she would have suspected the tiny framed girl to be involved with these group of mercenaries. "Are you sure! Bring me the security footage, I want to see it for myself."

Though Anna's body looked very weak and her temperature kept rising rapidly, her entire being was now focused on the matter present unopened in front of her.

The guard furnished a laptop and handed over the pen drive. Once she played the content, she found herself seated in the lounge and a man sat opposite to her looking gloomy and later it turned out to be a terrifying one. The girl who was squatted to her right became all alert when four men entered the lounge, It was evident that Aaliyah knew those men in some way.

Both Jacob and Aaliyah was paying more attention to the surrounding, it was only her who paid no attention to any one of them around her.

"Idiot!!! It was happening in front of you. Yet, you are so blind!" Anna's criticism made the guard look back at her instead of the footage. he wondered, 'Who is she calling 'Idiot'. Obviously herself! She surely is an idiot, how many troubles has she stirred up for me to clear.' The guard complained in his head, sure enough, not showing any emotions in his face.

The second security footage played showing the back of two girls walking to the restroom and she found herself turning back to enquire the man following her. Once done talking, she tucked the girl next her to walk fast.

She found Aaliyah turning back to check two more men behind Jacob. While She and Aaliyah moved further close to the Women's room, she noticed the two men walk past the men's room to their direction.

And in that instant, Jacob who had just entered the men's room opened back the door and viciously launched an attack on the man from behind, preciously on the neck area and made him unconscious in a second. The other men tried to pull a gun but Jacob moved swiftly and held him hostage by twisting the armed man hands to point at himself. One wrong move would blast the hostage brain.

Without making a sound, he deliberately pulled both of them inside the men's room in a matter of seconds. If Anna turned back, she would have witnessed everything, yet, she proved herself to be dumb once again.

After about ten seconds, she saw in the footage that two more men who accompanied the earlier dispatched men by Jacob made their way to the Women's restroom. It was so clear that they entered the women's room where she and Aaliyah just entered and she wondered how didn't she notice any of these.

After about ten minutes, she found herself to emerge out of the restroom with a tinge of embarrassment.

"Those men?!!" Anna pondered looking at the guard standing close to her and eyeing her with a look, 'You, Indeed, need an army of men.'

He answered back, "We found them locked in one of the cubicles in the women's room."

"Aaliyah, cleared them for me? God! gracious. I am still alive because of her." Anna could not believe any of those happened so far, "Is there any more footage available? I want to check everything!"
