An Innocent Heart Longing For Love

Chapter 66 - Are You Leaving Me?

Luyisa sat next to her son who was laying in the sofa all tired. His shirt was all creased and his top button was open showing his fair b.a.r.e masculine c.h.e.s.t. She gazed at her son gently feeling guilty and as well as angry.

Guilty, as she was the one who forced him to marry Anna and Angry, as her own son mistreated Anna.

"Shane! Do you know what you have done?!

You made Anna a puppet in your hands, don't you feel wrong about what you did to that girl?"

"No! I don't" He replied in a hoarse voice, "Mom! You forced me, I never wanted any of this."

He felt a strange pain creeping through his heart, he paused for a while and then sat up straight to continue, "Mom! Haven't I told you that I am not the right choice for her? It was you who forced me... You told me that she was in trouble and I helped her, that was it."

"Please, Mom! Don't make me feel that I am a monster, haven't I myself been wronged by your demands. You intend to protect her for a good cause. Fine!

But have you ever realized that you have sacrificed your own son? I feel wronged myself, Mom!"

An agony swept through Luyisa, she gulped heavily and asked Shane, "Don't you ever liked Anna? Don't you have any feelings for her, even after spending more than four months together with her, Your answer is still 'no' to her?"

Luyisa felt suffocated as the thought formed in her mind, her feet dashed backward, 'Have I done the same mistake one more time, Have I wronged Anna as I did to Kathy?'

Shane appalled by his mother's question, 'Do I like Anna? Do I? If I don't then why did I go insane the day before? Why am I reacting weirdly lately? Why did I buy the couple pass, Why did I go frustrated when Anna stood up for the other man?'

There was no answer. Facing his mother, he felt even more miserable. He c.a.r.e.s.sed his forehead as he Stood up and walked to the window to breathe fresh air, 'Do I love her? but the actual question is, 'Will she love me after what happened yesterday?'

Luyisa's back stiffed seeing her son's doubtful expression, "Shane! Did you marry Anna on your full will or just because of me?"

Still, there was no response.

Shane stood dreamily recalling the images of the security footage's and he felt even more miserable. The way he slapped Anna and even after he played a bad character, Anna stood there for him c.a.r.e.s.sing and wiping the blood when the other man kicked him.

'Yet, what have I done in the end? I just walked out of the place leaving her behind. Am I worthy enough to have her?'

"Shane! Don't make your mother regret, Answer me!" Luyisa walked closer to her son.

He pressed his forehead with his palms hard and shook his head to clear the vision out of his mind. He was once again driving insane, He slammed the nearby chair loud enough making his mother stumble in fear, and then he strolled out of the room in fume leaving his mother stand in a daze.

When he climbed down the stairs, he found Anna standing in the hall and her guard was holding her luggage. He paused in the stairs, 'Is she decided to leave me now? So, My mom is here because Anna decided to leave me.'

His pupils pricked as if a needle stabbed in it and his eyebrows creased. 'You are leaving me now... When I learn that I like you and I want you. you are leaving me.'

He shook his head in regret, his every step felt heavy as if carrying a ton tied to his feet, he strolled down slowly, 'I have avoided you all the time, and now are you paying me back? Fine! If that is what you want, Go ahead!'

He pressed his lips in a thin line and left the place without uttering a word.

Anna stationed on the spot without moving an inch and only her head turned to watch his disappearing fatigue from the hall. She was momentarily thrilled by the anger venting out of the man, 'Is he still angry on me?'

Anna heard a loud bang door slamming sound which rocked her body making her shiver in fear.

She stood petrified in the place when her Mother-in-law walked out of Shane's room to witness the young girl tearing face. Her heart wrenched to watch the girl that she adored, 'Kathy! Did I fail you one more time.'

Luyisa climbed down the stairs and she hugged Anna's shoulder to console her, "Let's go! I am there for you."

Anna trained her face to look at Luyisa's eyes, while her aunt continued, "I will never let anyone hurt you even if it was my very own son."

"Aunt!" Anna staggered back hearing her aunt, "It was nothing. Everything will be back to normal when we come back." She dried her own tears as she comforted her aunt.

Luyisa let out a sad smirk as she whispered, "Just like your mother."
