Asgardian Sword God

Chapter 21 - Dark arts

As they reached the office, Kvasir then said to Vali " Sit down. " As he pointed at the chair in front of his desk. Then Kvasir sat down on his chair while Vali forcefully drags the chair backwards and furiously sat down.

Ignoring the behavior of Vali, Kvasir begins to open his mouth and say, " So..."

Before Kvasir could continue, Vali fiercely said, " Stop talking about other things before you explain yourself." He was infuriated as to how Kvasir had treated him.

" Huh. What should I explain?" casually replied Kvasir.

" You took both of my swords away and made me fight with a dagger against someone using an enormous axe. On top of that, you made me fight a bloodthirsty woman. Are you trying to kill me?" yelled Vali. Politeness went out the window for him when Kvasir put his life in danger.

" Oh.. that." said Kvasir then he paused for a while to say something that might make Vali less angry. Then he continued, " I knew that you would definitely win. That's why I made you use the dagger."

" Lies! There's no way you could have known about my strength. You have just sent me to die. But luckily, I won because that brutish woman could not properly use her brain. " said Vali as he knew that not even once after he had fought with Brunhild has he ever shown his real capabilities.

" I have seen the records about your previous fights in the arena and in the entrance exam. Do you really think that it will be hard for me to gauge your true power? " immediately replied Kvasir.

" Just stop lying and tell me the truth." said Vali as he knew that Kvasir is only bluffing.

Even in the arena, Vali did not completely use his full capabilities in the fight as most of them are just low-rank warriors. With the increase in his strength and skill levels due to his constant training, as he had never used his real capabilities, Vali deduced that there is not a single chance Kvasir would know how exactly powerful he is as he himself did not know the full extent of the strength he possess.

As he knew that he could not keep putting up this facade, Kvasir finally told Vali one of the reasons, " I made you use the dagger because I could not let you win. This would ruin the reputation of the Academy. "

Hearing this, Vali blood is boiling with anger, he immediately begins to activate all of his skills. He had previously died once already because others want to selfishly gain something from him, and this time, if the woman he fought was not that dumb, he would probably meet his end and if not, at the very least, he would have been fatally injured. And all of this is just because Kvasir wanted to protect the reputation of the Academy? How can Vali easily accept that? Kvasir had not considered his feelings and opinion before he made the decision.

" I don't care about the reputation of the Academy. For all I know, the reputation of the Academy can go to hell. You should not have put me in that situation. " with an intimidating voice, Vali said as his body is radiating off an enormous amount of oppressive energy.

Vali immediately activated all of his aura skills, he did not hold back even a little bit. As his life is more important to him than the Academy. As he knew that strength is the one that matters, though there are several risks, he did not hold back and show Kvasir how his courage would not waver in front of anyone.

Clearly staring at the boy right in front of him, Kvasir is reminded of Odin and how oppressive the strength of Odin is. And especially the energy that is radiating off of Vali, although it is a small amount compared to the Odinforce and even if it could not affect him much, Kvasir felt that the force coming out of Vali is immensely more oppressive than Odinforce of the same amount.

This oppressive feeling, how could it not be more than the Odinforce. It is the aura of the one who has the capabilities to conquer all in the future.

As he knew that Vali's anger would not be quenched unless he tells Vali everything, Kvasir caves in and said, " Your father asked me to make you stay in the Academy for at least five years using any means. "

Although Kvasir knew that if he fights with Vali, he will definitely win but the price he would have to pay for beating Vali would be huge. He estimated that most of the main building of the academy would be destroyed. As it is what he had taken care for close to a millennium, Kvasir did not dare take that risk. Although Odin said to keep his request a secret as long as he can, since the situation requires it, he spilled everything.

" Why would my father say that? Besides, I never said I would leave. So, why would you still do that? " Hearing the reason why Kvasir did what he had done, even though Vali is still angry, he calmed himself down a bit.

" Though you said you will not leave. You could get a special permission to go out of the realms for a period of time as you would have already met the requirements for your graduation." said Kvasir.

Then he breathes a huge sigh of relief as he saw that Vali had begun to slowly retract the energy coming off from his body.

Then Kvasir continued, " Your father, even though he wanted you to fight and help him conquer the nine realms, he still believes you are too young and not strong enough to survive and be useful in battle. He wanted you to learn more before you go out of Asgard. "

As Vali listen and kept on hearing the explanation of Kvasir, he begins to slowly understand as to why Kvasir did what he had done. Though he is not happy and is still a bit angry, he could see the reason why as to why his father would not want him to fight in a real-life and death situation yet.

" Well then, I assume I am excused from all of my classes. " Vali said as he tries to walk out of the office.

Seeing that Vali is beginning to leave, Kvasir said, " Wait."

" What more do you want?" said Vali as he turned his head towards Kvasir.

" I want to discuss with you about the skill that you use to summon swords." said Kvasir.

Curious as to what Kvasir could do for him, Vali then sits back down on the chair and he said, " What about my skill?"

" When you use the skill to summon swords, it looks to me like you are manipulating the energies and forces present in the universe to augment your own strength." said Kvasir as he begins to explain what he thinks the skill is.

As the two went further into their discussion, Vali had learned several things about energies and forces present in the universe and those that can manipulate them.

When the discussion was about to end, Kvasir said " In the future, if you could even increase the amount and your control over it. The Odinforce that your father possess will be nothing in front of yours. "

Hearing this, Vali is a bit happy. Although he is still angry at what Kvasir had done, with the discussion he had with Kvasir, Vali is more sure that his dream to not let his fate be under the control of anyone could be accomplished.

And as the discussion is over, Vali then borrowed some books from the libraries in the Academy which he previously could not access and with the books in his hand, Vali left the place.

After he had left the Academy, Vali went back straight to the palace to rest for a while as the night is soon approaching. And as he is tired from all he had done today, Vali wanted to sleep first before he begins his research on the manipulation of forces present in the world and the universe and how the manipulation of the energies in nature is done using different kinds of magic using the books he had borrowed from the Academy.
