Calla Lily, The Eunuch King's Goblin Bride

Chapter 33 - The Horrible Price

The massive door of the chamber closs with a thud, loud enough that it brought Adara back to present.

She could recognize that shutting, no one else could do such a thing other than King Theon himself.

It was the same as before, she could clearly recall the day Theon arrived at their place, to ask her hand in marriage.

And left the Grand General's resident with a loud bang on the door, when the General refused to marry off her daughter to him.

It was winter back then, snowflakes were falling and a glassy loveliness of frost flowers was spread throughout in the front garden of General's resident.

The petals were scattered in the nearby small pool right in the front, that had a bridge upon it to cross to the other side, thus entering the resident.

King Theon right after claiming the throne payed a visit to his General in personal, and was left with a bewitching sight.

As he stepped down from his white sturdy horse and strode in through the gateway, that had 'General's resident' carved on it with silver.

His very sight landed on the young lady in purple coloured robe, the very woollen cloth was hugging her body and the white wolf's fur was providing her warmth.

The aristocratic lady was standing there on the bridge, leaning on the rocky rail. Her eyes darted on the frozen pool, drowned into some though she was staring at her reflection.

Probably that matter held some importance to her that she did not notice the presence of new King, right next to her on the bridge.

"May I know where is the General?"

Approaching the mentally lost lady, Theon faked a cough to snag the lady's attention.

"H-huh?"

Theon became successful in garnering Adara's attention, but her expressions manifested him that she was completely blank.

"W-what?"

Not acknowledging who was standing in front of her and how badly she neglected the King's presence, Adara casually questioned Theon.

"May I know where is the General, young lady?"

A gentle smile graced his face which masked his l.e.w.d nature completely, Theon repeated in querying tone.

"Uh! Who are you to ask for father, like that?"

She crooked her one brow in mock, as no one dared to ask her father's whereabouts addressing like that.

"Milady please…."

The messenger who trailed Theon and was rooted behind him with his stare glued to the ground, lifted his head up to make her realize whom she was talking to.

He was scared to death witnessing how Adara insulted Theon by not recognising her own King, the messenger raised his voice but was interrupted by Theon.

"Stop!"

He raised his right hand and upon the signal the mild mannered messenger sewed his mouth at once.

Theon was already enchanted by her beauty and now he was amused of Adara's innocence and naivete nature.

"Young lady, I'm really surprised that you still do not recognize your newly crowned king. But hereby, I'm Theon Romulus."

On the day of procession Adara was terrified and felt guilty of sneaking out, she did not care for once to glance at Theon, while the maidens drooled at him.

"A-ah! Apologies my lord. Forgive this lady your highness."

The realization struck her like a bolt and in a panic she bowed quite low, that her back was straightened and head reached Theon's stomach.

Theon lunged forward and held Adara by shoulders.

"Oh no! This is unnecessary young lady. You are already forgiven."

The distance between two reduced, that Adara could feel the warmth coming from muscular his body.

The gust of wind blew and the cold breeze kissed her tainted cheeks that had became the shades of pink.

The love Goddess played with her wild cards and sent the Cupid to love-struck them, as the duo stood there embracing each other on the little bricked bridge, with their hearts racing fast.

"T-the G-general is in the main hall, straight from here."

Adara broke the silence and her honey voice brought Theon back to his senses, when he was lost in her sky blue orbs.

Pointing towards north she directed him the way and ran away, her heels clacked against the stones of bridge as she hurried towards her chamber.

Theon giggled in his heart, befooled upon the thought that perhaps Adara would not reject him, he was filled with happiness and decided to ask her hand in marriage.

That gruesome memory made her gloomy and an endless stream of tears began to flow on her rosy cheeks.

Plopped helplessly on the red silk sheet after King Theon's dismissal, Queen Adara cried upon her miserable fate.

The only 'brave' act King Theon ever did was, killing the general when he refused to marry off Adara to him.

"May you rot in Hell, Theon!"

Throwing her body backwards in bed Adara cursed Theon with hatred, she had already lost her innocence to him.

The shrewd man abducted her after killing the general by accusing him of treachery, r.a.p.ed her the day of her father's burial, she was reduced to only choice, to stay alive on the cost of marrying him.
