Carnage In Another World

Chapter 20 - Actions Have Consequences

Arthur slowly regained consciousness. He sat up, his stomachs growling echoed in the forest. Rising to his feet, he stumbled over to the corpse of one of the demons he slaughtered the night before.

His mind was already broken. Devouring the raw flesh of the monster meant nothing to him by this point. He began tearing chunks of bloody meat from the demons corpse and stuffing them into his mouth ravenously. His hunger only grew with every bite he took.

Suddenly he fell over, gripping his abdomen. Blood curdling screams could be heard through the forest.

The guard on the ramparts looked towards the forest as the screams reached his ears.

Arthurs body began to burn, as if someone had dropped him into boiling water. His skin turned red as fever attacked his body. They only way he had to vent this pain, was to scream. He felt as if hell itself he taken residence inside his body. His psyche began to shatter even further. He began to lose his voice from the constraint screams.

His body started changing. He could feel his bone change position, and his muscles rearrange themselves. From the outside one could mistake these changes as thousands of insects crawling beneath his skin. It was as if his very cells were fighting over a new control.

His outer appearance did not change as drastically as his insides did. The only noticeable changes in his appearance were that his skin was pale as snow, his teeth were now long and pointed, as if his mouth was filled with canine teeth, and the iris of his eyes were now a deep crimson.

After what felt like hours had passed, Arthur's screaming subsided, replaced by malicious laughter. With the pain gone, his mind regained a certain extent of clarity. As his insanity faded the bloodl.u.s.t, and hatred remained. They became the building blocks of his of his mind.

"Such power, it flows through my veins!" he shouted, turning his head towards the town he saw previously, "that damn bastard will regret shooting my brother. I'll make him watch as I destroy the whole encampment." he bellowed through his teeth. He vanished from the spot, the blood that covered him fell to the ground as if he was never there.

The next instant, he appeared on the ramparts, standing in front of the arrogant guardsmen. "Did you enjoy causing my brothers death?" he said as he lifted the man into the air. Arthur removed his hand and man stayed floating in place.

"Your a demon?!?!?" the man screamed, shock and confusion, covered his face. His voice cut short by some sort of invisible force.

"Actions have consequences, and these are yours" he said with a menacing smile, and vanished leaving the guard to levitate in silence.

Arthur stood in the middle of the town looked around at the helpless bandits before him. Lunging forth, Arthur grabbed his first victim by the neck, before snapping it like a dry twig. He tossed the unfortunate bastard aside like garbage, after collecting his head.

At this time screams of terror were let loose from the mouths of the surrounding bandits. Blood sprayed out from the neck of the first victim, covering them.

Next, he ripped the heart out of the person nearest to him. blood oozed out of the wound.

The man was able to cling to life just long enough to shout, "DEMON!" before he collapsed from blood loss.

Even though they were aware of his presence, it would not change their fate. Arthur had become an existence that they could do nothing about. They began running in all directions.

"They have the balls to kill my brother, yet attempt to scurry away like vermin?" Arthur laughed "pathetic!"

The screams coming from the bandits were snuffed out one by one, like a fire being smothered.

The man, floating in the air above the ramparts, struggled in an attempt to escape. However, his actions were useless. He could only grunt as he watched his friends die. Each in a different manner than the one before.

After killing all the bandits in the camp, Arthur grabbed a torch from a nearby hut. He then proceeded to set the entire place ablaze. The fire spread fast and easily ravaged the camp.

The man floated down slowly. As he descended, the billowing smoke from the burning huts stained his face black with soot. He stopped right in front of Arthur, in the center of the camp

Arthur took the torch in his hand, and planted it in the ground below the man, the flames l.i.c.k.i.n.g the man's c.h.e.s.t.

"Your friends they were lucky, they died quickly. You? You're not so lucky." Arthur laughed.

The man could only give muffled screams, in reply. As the flames of the torch charred his skin. His skin cracked, blood seeped of the resulting wounds.

"You not only shot my brother, but laughed when you spoke of it," Aurther said, an eerie calm pervaded his voice. "Did you enjoy causing my brothers death? Well, I want you to know that I will enjoy your death."

Arthur then turned around and walked away. The fire burned fiercely all around him as he made his way to the main gate. He thrusted his hand forward and released a shockwave that destroyed the flimsy gate before him.

The man's screams were suddenly silenced. Once Arthur got a certain distance away the man plunged from the air, the wooden torch impaling him through his c.h.e.s.t.
