Carnage In Another World

Chapter 4 - 4: Faldor

Adrian looked up at the enormous wooden gate that led into the town of Faldor. unlike the village he first saw when he entered this world, Faldor was surrounded by stone walls at least one-hundred feet tall on all sides. The large wood door which was the entrance to the town, was rather plain and gave out a rustic medieval vibe.

Together the four of them walked up to the gate, and spoke to the guards outside. "we need entrance into Faldor" aurther told the guardsmen.

"state your business, sir" the guard answered in a cold voice.

Arthur flashed an I.D. badge that showed his picture and said RANK E. DEMON HUNTER on it as soon as the guard saw the I.D. card his expression changed along with his tone of voice and he replied." yes sir, right away sir" moments later the gates of the city swung open, revealing a scene of common folk rushing around in what looked like a market place.

the streets of Faldor were made of cobbled stone, the craftsmanship of which was not to shabby. the town was rather large just from the view from the entrance. the buildings in town were mostly crafted from wood, and cobblestone. there was also a large well in the town square, with several different buckets attached to pullies.

as the four of them entered the town Adrian turned to Elian and asked"Elian how does someone join the demon hunter guild?

"you'll see in just a minute" she replied with a wink, as she laughed. "we're heading to the guild hall as we speak."

feeling exasperated Adrian [ guess I have know choice but to got with it] he thought as he looked lazily around the dark age-esque town, admiring the architecture. although the city, was simple in design, but had sort of a Victorian era beauty about it.

from where he was now, he could now the demon hunter guild hall. it was one of the largest buildings in the town. the building built almost entirely out of brick with only the roof being made of wood. there was a large placard above the door that read "DEMON HUNTERS GUILD". the words on the placard had a gold inlay, while the rest of the placard was painted black.

they walked up to the doors, and pushed them open to reveal the large guild hall inside. the guild hall had the looks of an old tavern with a large bulletin board on the western wall. they continued forward to the receptions desk, while the mighty bronze a.s.s found his way over to the bar.

"hello, Arthur did your hunt earlier go well?" the man behind the desk asked.

"hey martin, it went just fine, got the level F demon here. "Arthur said while signaling Elian.

Elian wave her hand and the demons corpse materialized in the air and landed on a flat wagon. Martin then smacked a bell on the counter. A large man came out from the back door and wheeled the demon away.

"Here's you bounty Arthur, 300 peices"martin said while pull out a bag, and handing it to Arthur." are you going to be taking on another bounty?"

"no, I don't think I will for now, but maybe later I got some stuff to do in town for now" Arthur replied." see ya later martin." aurther waved good bye before turning and walking out of the guild hall.

"hey martin, my friend Adrian here wants to join the demon hunters guild.", Elian told martin with a sly smile.

"oh really now... so young man have you ever killed a demon before?" martin asked Adrian with a raised eye brown.

"no sir, I haven't", Adrian replied shortly.

"well then, here is our list of newbie missions complete one and you will get your rank F. I.D. card and become and official demon hunter. how ever don't blame me if you get yourself killed" martin said in a joking tone as he handed a short list of jobs to Adrian." pick one of those and come see me, to start the bounty okay."

"yes sir," Adrian said, before walking off to a near by chair to sit down, and read the mission details.

Bounty mission: level F. spotted by east river.

Bounty mission: level F. seen near Thoma village- complete

Bounty mission: level F. spotted in the forest near Faldor.

[hum... I think ill just except the first one,] as he thought that a prompt showed up in front of him again.

<Bounty mission: level F. spotted near east river>

<Mission details>

<a large demon has been spotted by the river just east of Faldor. kill this demon and bring it back to the guild hall to receive your reward.>

<Rewards>

<300 pieces>

<400 exp.>

<1 skill point>

< do you accept this mission>

<yes> or <no>

[to think there way this kind of feature as well. 400 exp. alone is good but I get a skill point as well. these rewards are pretty generous] he thought to himself as he pressed the <yes> button on the prompt.

Adrian then got up from his seat, and walked back to the receptions desk." martin, I've decided to jus go with the first one, no real point thinking to much about it." he told martin as he walked up.

"okay then, Elian here is going to go with you, and try to keep you alive, but if she interferes with the battle you have to another one, understood" martin said as he took the paper from his hands." don't die out there kid, I'm rooting for you, ya hear"

"yes sir, and thanks for the advice. "he replied as he walked over to were Elian was waiting.

"well, what are you waiting for lets get going. that demons not just going to wait around for us you know." Elian said with a laugh, as she started walking towards the door.

"don't we need prepare first?" he asked," get some supplies or something"

"no need really im already fully stocked myself, and I have a feeling you don't have any money" she said, poking fun at him

"well your not wrong I guess" he replied, as h e scratched the back of his head. "well lets get going then, after you milady," Adrian said with an exaggerated bow.

"you know sarcasm isn't attractive right" she said before walking out the door.

Adrian shook his head then hurried up to follow behind her.
