Child Of God

Chapter 49 - The Call For Reinforcment

As the standard looking Marine warship docked near the island, Esdeath and the mysterious recruit jumped off and landed on the water surface. "wow, you weren't kidding. This feels... weird!" He said as he and Esdeath landed on the water and didn't sink in.

"Told ya, now let's get you acquainted with the rest of the guys" The two started walking towards the island with all the Marines on the ship following Esdeath with their gazes. They had gotten to such a twisted mindset that Esdeath could torture an innocent civilian in front of them and they would just cheer her on.

Hina was the worst of them all. If she wasn't near Esdeath or at least had a picture of her at all times she would start to shake and lose her sanity. This happened because Esdeath was using her as an experiment to test how far into devotion or insanity her aura could draw a normal human being.

And the result was evident with Hina. She had become insane in her fanatical devotion to Esdeath. She would kill, slaughter anyone Esdeath wanted dead without question. And Esdeath had tested this by asking Hina if she would kill her family for her. And the answer was a direct yes without blinking or even a second of hesitation.

The two of them arrived at the beach and immediately a huge group of pirates came charging out of the forest with weapons in hand. "KILL THE MARINES!" They all shouted as they rushed the two, what they thought were Marines.

"STOP!" Sabo was dashing through the horde of charging pirates and stopped in front of Esdeath. He held out his hands against the charging horde to get them to stop, and they did stop.

"She is with us," Sabo said and looked at the leading man of the charge. And he lowered his weapon and reluctantly agreed to stop the charge. Like most pirates, he hated the Marines to the bone."

"You guys heard Commander Sabo, go back to work!" He yelled at the rest of them to back off. And then he walked over to Esdeath with a mean look on his face. All the pirates working for Kurama had no idea that Kurama was actually working for someone else. The world thought he was just another Emperor.

"Why do we have a Marine on the payroll? You people should all just die." Standing on an island owned entirely by an Emperor and one of the Commanders behind him. The man had by all right, the right to be arrogant. No other Marine would have the balls to refute him while standing on Kurama's island.

A drop of blood made its way down his throat and the sweat started to appear on the man's forehead as he felt the cold steel of a sword on his neck. He looked at Esdeath and noticed she standing there and smiling, and the one thing missing was the man that was standing behind her. He was now standing beside him with his sword pressed against his throat.

"Ezio, that happens to be Esdeath. The person that made Emperor Kurama to who he is. She, in fact, made all of us to who we are. She formed this crew and she herself infiltrated the Marines and became their Admiral. She is the real Tailed Emperor."

Sabo explained all of this in one long sentence. And the more he explained the funnier Ezio's expressions became to look at. He went from starting with shock and now at the end landed on complete terror.

"I'M SORRY!" Ezio went down on both knees and kissed the sand in front of her feet. Without caring about how stupid or embarrassing he behaved now he continued kissing the ground.

"Don't worry about it. I like my men to have some backbone. And telling a goddess to essentially kill herself is if nothing else, the pure definition of what it means to have courage." Esdeath smiled and turned to Sabo, and ignored Ezio that was crying from happiness and also terror.

"Sabo, I'd like to introduce you to my official right-hand man. Issho!" Esdeath said and pointed at the man in the nice-looking grey suit with the typical Marine coat over his shoulders.

"Nice to meet you young Sabo. Lady Esdeath has told me a lot about you." Issho said and shook hands with Sabo.

"Nice to meet you too. For a second there I thought I would have the role as right-hand man. How lucky am I," Sabo said and gave a sigh that immediately exposed him as being disappointed that he didn't get the role.

"Don't worry about it. Kura.." In the middle of her talking, she suddenly went silent and stared up in the sky. "My lady?" Issho said and looked at her in confusion.

"Sabo, you, Issho and I are going on an adventure. Something has come up, and I promise it will be fun," Esdeath smiled sweetly, and that usually meant killing is involved.

"Where are we going, my lady?" Issho asked as he stood confused off to the side,

"You'll see." Esdeath crushed the pearl in her hand and Issho, Sabo together with herself disappeared from the place.

"O-Okay, I-I'll just stay here and protect this spot for you, c-captain..." Ezio said and sat crossed legged at the spot.
