It was Thursday morning at Majimena Academy. Yūi had just passed the school gate and entered school grounds. There she saw Akane walking around, checking up on some of the other students.

"Heyo Akane, whatcha up to?" Yūi spoke as casually as could be.

Akane turned to look at her. "Ah, Yūi, good morning. Yesterday evening the school hired some technicians to repair the vending machines, so that much has been taken care of. They mostly just replaced the broken parts, so right now we have Yami, who has some experience with vending machines from her mother's company, researching how the machines could've gotten into that state. Hopefully, that'll give us a lead to who is the culprit. Today we've made sure to place extra security around the school in the form of Ethics Committee students to make sure no one can do anything weird with the vending machines."

Yūi made a thinking face. "Does the Ethics Committee have the level of manpower needed for all that security though?"

Akane gave a confident smile back. We sure do, and we even have one of the most qualified people leading us; Me. With the help of someone though. Do you still remember Emiko Hano from the times you helped in the past?"

A blond girl with glasses stepped forward from behind Akane. She was wearing the same white blouse with summer sweater, purple ribbon and purple skirt uniform as Akane. Her braided ponytail was resting over her left shoulder, the ponytail kept in shape with a small blue hair strap at the end.

"It's good to see you again Yūi." the girl said while smiling.

"Nice to see you too Emiko." Yūi replied.

Akane continued. "We are entrusting the task of partly leading the vending machine protection protocol to her, as she is one of our school's smartest students."

"I guess you could call me the head of this whole operation." Emiko said while balling her first and smiling.

"And as leader of the Ethics Committee, that makes me the upper head of this operation." Akane quickly added.

"Akane didn't like the thought of anyone having a title that sounds higher than hers. . ." Emiko said in a slightly lowered voice with an awkward smile.

"Ah, her superiority complex again huh?" Yūi replied.

"W- what? Me? A superiority complex? D- don't be ridiculous!" Akane quickly replied while blushing.

"A- anyways, we still have a lot of preparations to do and a culprit to find, so we should get going. I hope to see you at the Ethics Committee room again during break Yūi. MASEC, moving out." Akane said while pointing forward.

"Sure thing, will see you th- wait what did you just say?" Yūi replied, slightly in awe.

"Do you mean MASEC? Well, I suppose I haven't told you yet huh." Akane gave a smug smile. "Students around school said they that the Ethics Committee felt out of touch with the normal average students, so I thought up an awesome nickname to make us sound a bit more casual while still conveying the sense of authority; Therefore, I came with Majimena Academy Student Ethics Committee, AKA MASEC. I thought it up completely by myself! Isn't it a great name?"

Yūi let out an "Ehhh. . .", unsure how to reply, and looked at Emiko.

"We all tried to stop her, but she was so dead set on it that we couldn't interfere. . ." she said with a sad smile.

As Akane stood there in a triumphant pose, Yūi couldn't help but feel bad for the other Ethics Committee members.
