Daily Life Of A Ponytail Girl

Yaruki Kumotta was sitting on a table as she stared out of a window to the blue sky. She was currently located in one of the classrooms at the highest floors and was twirling one of her drill shaped with her finger as she was deep in thoughts.

(Only 10 minutes left, I wonder if they'll actually make it here. . .)

"It seems they will get it here any moment, rep."

Her thoughts suddenly got interrupted by Yami Nashide. She held a hand to the right of her long gray-blue hair as she closed her eyes and started thinking.

"I could have sworn our classmates would've been able to stop them along the way somewhere. Maybe leaving Yoru as our last line of defense wasn't the smartest idea. . ."

Yaruki made a soft smile.

"No point in worrying about that now. We should focus on the challenge ahead."

The girl crossed her legs covered in black leggings under her purple skirt and straightened her gray summer sweater, as she looked at the door.

"They're here."

The door opened quickly as if it was kicked open, and four girls entered the room. Leading the four was Yūi, holding her flashlight in her hands. The room she was in looked like along unused cooking classroom. Cooking equipment like stoves and deep fryers were placed around the room. Sitting on a table was Yaruki, and Yūi immediately aimed Liebenslight at her.

"Long time no see." Yūi said with a smug grin as she stood face to face with the girl.

"Same goes for you, Yūi. It seems you had no trouble making it past my dear classmates."

Akane suddenly stood between the two. "Of course they'd stand no chance. As long as the Akane Super Squad is here to protect the school, nothing will stand in our way."

"Akane Super. . . what?" Yaruki asked with a questioning expression. As she looked at Akane's classmates, they seemed to be confused as well.

"I don't remember anything about this Akane Super Squad." Yukkuri said as she shot down the idea.

Akane crossed her arms while pouting. "Is this the thanks I get after bravely leading our team to victory against countless opponents."

"Ehh. . ." Yukkuri started. "You only really helped with one of the of the challenges, and even with that one you had to cheat to get it done. . ."

"Y- you. . . Don't act all innocent yourself, miss s.e.x.u.a.l misbehavior!"

"Hey, at least I'm willing to admit that I played dirty!"

As the two started getting into an argument, Yūi quickly interfered. "Hey guys, hello? Enemies right in front of us. . ."

". . . Oh right."

Seemingly having remembered her goal, Akane stepped forward once more.

"Regardless, it's time for us to get serious again. We'll beat your challenge no matter what! Akane Super Squad, AKA AS-"

Akane crumbled to the ground as she realized what she was about to spell out. In pity, Yukkuri gave Akane a pat on the back. "There, there."

"So. . . Getting back on topic. . ." Blue hair girl Aoi said as she looked at their opponents. "I have a few questions regarding the safety of our classmates."

Instead of Yaruki, Yami answered. "No harm has been done to any of your students, rest assured."

". . . I'm not sure I can believe that without seeing them." Aoi said with a serious look in her eyes.

"You'll see them soon enough, if you win the challenge at least." Yami said with a mischievous smile on her face.

"By the way," Yami said as she turned towards Akane, "sorry about doing all this stuff behind your back Leader. To make up for it, I'll take care of your part of the paperwork for a whole week."

Having recovered from her crumbling, Akane crossed her arms as she looked at Yami. "After this whole situation, you should consider yourself lucky if you even got to keep your place on the Ethics Committee. We know you were behind the whole vending machine incident."

"So I have been caught." Yami said, still smiling, but looking at the ground. "I just had to screw the machines open from the side and pour some water onto the control panels. I knew that eventually, someone would catch on to what happened and connect the dots, but with my position in the Ethics Committee, I knew I could dodge suspicion for long enough to put this plan in motion. Especially seeing as I had a little help from someone else."

The redhead Akane continued questioning. "And what would this whole plan be then? What was the overall purpose? Also who was this person that helped you?"

Before Yami could answer, Yaruki interrupted. "So many questions, so many answers, but realize that time is ticking. soon you'll not be able to finish this whole quest."

Akane let out a sigh. The ponytail girl Yūi stepped forward, still holding her flashlight. "Then I suppose we should just get to this challenge already."

Yaruki clapped her hands together and smiled.

"In that case, let us begin with your final challenge."
