"Zavala, we have a problem. The Hive is on Earth working with the Fallen. We don't know why?" I looked at his luminescent blue eyes and he was shocked. I'm shocked. "They were being kept behind a gated door which is why no one has found anything. What do you want us to do?"

"This sounds like the House of Devils. Spawns of darkness. So for them working with the Hive wouldn't be surprising. But on Earth, it's an eye-opener." Zavala looked like he grabbed something and nodded before looking back at me through my dashboard screen. "Break the House of Devils' grasp on the Cosmodrome and secure a vital link to the Golden Age. Vanguard will look closely at the Hive. Good work."

I sigh in annoyance. House of Devils. The Devils that that started raids against humanity. Attacking whatever or whomever that found them. Rezyl Azzir killed a Kell but was killed within their House because why not? They were also the cause of the fall of Twilight Gap. No wonder Shaxx's name was so familiar because he was there at the war with the Fallen. Now that I think of it, Zavala was too. Even though I belonged to the Reef the stories were told. I placed my hands on the back of my neck once our connection ended.

"I'm picking up something from Vanguard, they are reporting that Fallen is tearing into machines all over the Cosmodrome. I think they aren't just randomly looting. They have a plan up their sleeves." Of course, they do! They're Fallen!

"Transmit me to land I guess." For once, I don't want to be on Earth anymore. I always dreamed of coming down here but right now, I want the Reef. Earth is filled with a c.o.c.kiness that most of these Guardians will die. Most of them probably never felt that breath of life when you first awake and see the sun glaring in your face. The city people are terrified. But you have stuck up people saying it's fine and the city is safe or they have everything under control, but only a fool will believe those lies. I can't lie to a persons' face and say yes, you're safe when we can't protect our damn selves as we use too. We have to kill and survive. I believe that this is a test from the Traveler and we are losing and failing.

"I am picking up heavy Fallen activity at the Forgotten Shore. But that's miles from here. Other Guardians has set up a Vehicle grid here. We can sync to that, we can summon ground transport from the ship."

"Woah. I don't even have a ground vehicle." Ghost chuckled before floating away, as usual, leading me.

"Remember how Cayde said there was no in-between of the upgrade? Well, there's your upgrade."

Ahhh, clever. Very clever. When I see Amanda I have to say thanks to her. As always I'm walking behind Ghost but I have seen movement. Can I have one day of peace and not the- no-take that back, rather have Fallen than the Hive. I reached out for Ghost as I pulled him back towards me. "Sniper. I think there's Fallen up ahead." I whispered as I step behind a dirt wall. I took the sniper and steadied it in my hand. Breathing slowly, I saw a floating thing and 2 regular Fallen. I sniped quickly at the mouse, yes my nickname for them, then the two Fallen. I brought my gun down and without even speaking my auto came back in my hand. Woot. Stepping away from the dirt wall, the Ghost followed suit then floated out in front of me.

"Question, do all Guardians have their memories when they are resurrected?" I had to ask.

"Normally no. Usually, they are wiped and you start new ones or remember very little. That's why I say it's odd that you have yours completely." He turned his direction that leads us in the same way for my last mission, up the hill and through the airsh.i.p.s graveyard. Or what they call it as the Mothyards. I feel no threat from either Hive or Fallen so I stand my guard down just a bit. Ghost turned towards a shed and began to do what he does best scan and hack, and decode. "Encoding superposed states. Entangling key vectors and...."

Hmmm. Odd because I heard something about the Forgotten Shore long ago but I can't remember it anymore. Even if I have my memories, I feel like some of them disappeared and it's saddening. But its life I suppose. But I do remember my time on the Reef. Being around the Queen and her wolves. I miss her at times as well I miss working for her and Petra. Sometimes I kick myself because I know this taboo but I fell in love with her but I just keep it to myself. Mars Sov, I do hope to see you soon.

"Here's the sparrow link. Try it out." I shook myself out of my thoughts and seen a vehicle before. I frowned as Ghost rejected my auto rifle as walked over to it.

"I feel like I'm going to kill myself with this thing." I walked over to it and climbed on carefully. It feels like I'm lying down with my feet in the air. There were two handlebars on each arm. I placed my hand on it and began to turn to it but my dumbass decided to push on the accelerator and almost got knocked off before I let go. This went from 0 to 40 in less than 2 seconds.

"Well... its this or walk. If we walk we're not going to get there for a while. So come on!"

I'm crying tears. I'm scared to death!

~~~
"We're approaching the shore." I heard in my ear inside my helmet." Okay, it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I just need to work on the braking and not the speeding. But I got this. Even so, Ghost was right. We did get there in seconds and no Fallen or Hive to kill me. Yet, it probably will change soon. "The Fallen are using some sort of signal amplifiers. Let's see what they're transmitting."
Going through another dirt trail that was on the outskirts of the Skywatch and I was amazed by the scenery. Still dusty and dingy looking. But overall kinda like it. Simple. Still hate the planet. "Ooo look, a waterfall," I spoke out loud and I can feel Ghost judge me. But he didn't question it. Once I reached the end of the trail I came to a halt and jumped off the sparrow. Ghost already impounded my vehicle and placed my gun in my hand. I looked around. I can tell why they call this place the Forgotten Shore because it has abandoned sh.i.p.s everywhere, even out in the water. I sighed because I knew there's going to be Fallen around here because there are corners that block the view. Great. I walked further out into open and Ether is all that I smell. Ether smells like rotten eggs or known as sulfur. It stinks, but not like the Hive. Carefully analyzing the area, I have seen something moving. I didn't shoot because I was far from it. Bringing my scope up I studied it hard. A flying machine...I know what they're called but can't remember exactly. I tipped toed quietly to take cover behind a rock as the machine turned around to give me time to dash to another closer rock. As soon as the face faced me, I took my auto and one-shot it. The sound echoed and prayed it didn't alert anyone, however in the far off distance, I heard gunshots. So, I'm not the only one here. Interesting.
"Hmmm. There's no Fallen. Someone must have cleaned this place up." I spoke lowly as I walked behind Ghost that just passed the first broken ship. I looked in between and nothing was there but I stopped about a few feet of Ghost to go through this empty carrier and climbed a set of stairs that was on the outside carefully. However, there was one Vandal amongst the emptiness. Yes! At last, I remember what they're called. Dregs, Shanks, Vandals, Captains, and eventually Servitors. Anything Fallen have those. I know the House of Wolves has these but ours have actual names. I think these do too since I killed an Archon Riksis, anyways, I just went ahead and stabbed the Vandal so it could save me some trouble and placed my knife back in its holster that was on my left side.
"There's amplifier across the way. Also, here's a scout rifle. Might do you some justice." There he goes, switching me from my lovely auto to a scout. Holy....the scope of this is really good. Close to my sniper rifle. Nonetheless, I walked to the edge of the platform and kneeled to take a look to see what's across the way.
"How do you find these things? Do you just randomly find shit and be like, 'Oh...I think she'll like this!'" I whispered loudly as I sighed. Maybe I did lie to myself because there are Fallen. Just hidden for the eyes to see.
2 Vandals
3 Dregs
1 Captain.
Which equals to 6 Fallen. But if I do my math correctly there are no Vandals, no Dregs, and no Captain because all their heads were shot off and the Ether flew out of them. Now, I have to get from here to over there. I got up and placed my gun down to my side before I started to back up.
"What are you planning on doing?" Ghost asked but my smirk was hidden. As soon as I have some length, I began to run towards the edge and jumped as high I could. Then I began to glide over to the other wrecked ship. One thing for sure, glad The Traveler gave us the ability to fly both in the sky and on land. Once I landed I made sure the wreckage was empty. I turned to Ghost and nodded. "Give me a sec," He paused and began examining the amplifier. "The Fallen are using some sort of signal amplifier. Let's see what they're transmitting."
While he was scanning I noticed something on the ground, it was a cloak. I titled my head and examine the white marking on it. The symbol looks like a beetle, but it's the symbol of their house. I remembered when the Fallen was good. Graced by the Traveler. Coincidence? And they were noble to humans. To anyone really. They made dolls for children to carry around. Until many events had come. They went against humanity. Attacking, killing, and taking what's left. Now we just know them as pirates and butchers.
"We have to go to the Terrestrial Complex. I will say this, be prepared. I have a feeling we're about to be or get bombarded." I jumped down to the ground as I steadied myself so I don't fall on my face. I almost did but didn't.
"Oh Ghost, you make my days brighter and make me feel so much better when you say that." I rolled my eyes. That has to be the most sarcastic thing I said since I've been awoken. But hell, it was true. Every time I follow Ghost, I'm either going to die or I gotta survive to the point I don't die. I wish I didn't have to follow him, but too late for that now right? Seeing my sparrow next to me, I hopped on as the coordinates popped in my helmet and went the way I suppose to go. I guess Ghost is in my helmet. If I don't see him float next to me, he's in my head. Activate pun.
Natheless, it doesn't take me long to get to my destination which ended up being in another building that looks like it's about to collapse like most of the standing buildings here in the Cosmodrome. I stopped at the entrance and climbed off. Ghost already snatched my sparrow up and handed me, my scout. I like this thing. I wonder if Banshee can upgrade it for me for free since I'm broke. I held my gun to my side on my right as I walked in. There are dirt and rubble everywhere. Shelves half broken and off their wheels and the light barely working. Even after the Golden Age, this building has some type of electricity.
"9 o'clock, 12 o'clock, 4 o'clock." I knew exactly what he was talking about as he whispered to me. Creeping to a wall before a rusted old car, I kneeled and brought my gun up and controlled my breathing just to shoot a Dreg in the head at 3, to shoot another Dreg at 4, and of course, have to shoot about 4 bullets into a shielded captain. "Coast is clear. Let's roll." I nodded as I got up and jogged where the Fallen had dropped just to go up two flights of stairs. Mental note, my life consists of killing, surviving, and stairs. That's it. Something feels weird. Not good weird, but odd weird. I stepped up on the last step to see a conference room with a Machine in the back of the room. I frown because it was quiet and an eerie feeling. I could hear the wind from outside and that was about it.
"Ghost...do you see anything?" I asked because maybe I'm blind and I'm losing my mind. To be fair, I think my mind is lost. I'm probably just crazy at this point.
"N-Behind you!" I turned around but it was already too late, I already got thrown up against the wall in the back of the room. I slid down to the floor on my back as I lifted my head slowly. I can feel bruises to begin and possibly feel something broken because that throw was fast and rough. Amazingly, Ghost ejected himself from my helmet and expanded opened. I noticed a force field inside and it was amazing to see however, I began to feel better like I was being healed. Little light, what are you truly capable of?
"The f.u.c.k are..." I looked up but it was gone again. Stealth Vandal. Splendid. I can't get any regular enemies at all. "Ghost reload my auto and might wanna cover your ears if you have any." I didn't even hold the gun with two hands like I normally do Why? I just started to blindly shoot a full clip in front of me until I heard a pop and the stench of Ether. Ha! That worked. Ghost already gave me a clip as I rejected the old one out and put a new one in. "This is going to be interesting sir." I leaned my head back and seen a Captain with a shield standing on a walkway. I smirked as I lifted my hand and waved hi but honestly, I threw a fire grenade at it and I watched him burn like our sun.
Eventually, I got myself up. There were three sets of broken windows so it was easy to see the open area.
"Hi, Dreg. Bye Dreg." Off with your head as I shot at the head as it tried to come after me through this broken doorway. How dare it to try to test me?! I walked out of the broken doorway and climb the stairs. "Anyone else?" I waited for a moment. "No? Okay! Keep it that way!" I shouted as I climbed the few steps that lead to where the Captain was. I turned to look behind me and noticed a room. I quickly looked in there but nothing.
"Is that....an active Machine? I'm going to scan it. It seems like the Fallen already tapped into it since it's active. Keep your guard up. Anything can happen."
"Just hurry up," I say as I walked closer to the machine watching the empty room carefully. As soon as he started scanning, a bunch of portals began to bust open within the room like the one in The Divide but smaller. How is this even possible?! This is some type of distortion and they figured out how to use it in their favors. "Ghost...hurry up! Give me my launcher because I got some big trouble here!"
Bunch of Vandals and Captains and two purple-eyed Servitor and a shit ton of Dregs. Feeling my launcher in my hand I brought it up. I stood my ground as I started launching rockets at them. "Okay, I've pulled out everything they managed to steal. We should..." I heard Ghost but my main focus was to stay alive and that was slightly hard. I'm throwing incendiary grenades that catches them on fire. My light is draining because of how many grenades and I'm barely missing their shots as I rocket these mugs but managing to stay alive. My reload game was fast. Used two rockets, reload, and then shoot. Good cycle. However, using one of my last rocket, I successfully killed the last Servitor.
"Every time I follow you, it seems like I'm going to die. Seriously!" I grunted as I threw my weapon down. I bent down and placed my hands on my knees and shook my head. "If I had a choice, I would go back to the Reef! When will this be over?!" I sighed so loudly just to hear my voice.
"To be honest, no one knows when this be over. You and I know that. However, while you were fighting, I found out some important things. Also, take out the machine. I have one rocket left." I sighed and reached down to pick up my rocket launcher and tuned around and released my rocket into the tap. Wasn't trying to blow the whole thing up but...I did anyways. Oops. Besides, I rose my left brow as Ghost retained my weapon from me. I turned to him so he can tell me this discovery. "They didn't get much except this. Old Earth, Russia on the location. The best part is that the legends are true. A Warmind did survive the Collapse. Rasputin..." I cut him off.
"An AI was built to defend the Earth and protect humanity itself. He faced the darkness and survived," I covered my mouth before I reached out for Ghost. My mission from the Queen was to find him. She wanted information and I was sent here because she was curious if the legends were told correctly. The only person that knew was Petra. "Ghost. That was my mission. I was sent here to the Cosmodrome to find him. If he is alive, then he's protecting something. Transmit me to my ship quickly. Now, I'm eager."
Mara Sov after long years, I have found what you needed. Please wait for me, My Queen.
