Chapter 26 - Questions

Hank Henshaw hated aliens.

It wasn't due to some personal vendetta or slight he suffered against them but he instinctually couldn't trust someone or something that was so different from them.

He saw that someone whom he could not harm, injure or even bring low was dangerous. He was paranoid to a fault yet it had served him well enough during his missions.

He had seen it all.

Acts of kindness being rewarded and being misused.

Throughout his life it had always been Americans vs everyone else.

Yet now he was required to trust a thing so far removed from an outsider that truly embodied the meaning of the word alien.

He saw the teeth, the dripping saliva and how it moved and the shine of the sun reflecting off its head and he could his own face on it.

Barely seconds later he had been grabbed by Martian on the shoulder and felt a tail swiping against his neck passing through him without a silver of resistance yet he was untouched unharmed and he proceeded to empty his entire barrel on it. Yet it didn't even flinch the bullets it fell off the skin and it shrugged them off.

The ticking and cl.i.c.k.i.n.g noise as the bullets bounced off the ground was something he was never going to forget.

The creature wasn't scared. It was sizing me up as its tail moved like it had a mind of its own.

Dragging against the earth suddenly moving sideways then up then back down following no pattern.

I felt powerless.

Then Superman appeared.

I try to hate him but now all I felt was relief.

Yet as I watched there was someone else with him in a completely black suit he could see even an inch of skin and could display powers similar to that of Superman.

The way they killed those aliens was something he could never match.

The shorter guy in the black suit moved with speed and his kills were efficient use of his strength.

He crouched, ducked, rolled, ran, flew using all his actions to kill as many of them as possible. While Superman was an unmovable mountain and anything that attacked him got crushed, smashed and he didn't even need to use a fist an open palm was enough to explode them.

A backhand made the aliens fly, they bit, they scratched nothing worked. He wasn't even blinking at the effort. While the shorter guy grabbed jaws pulled them out towards opposite sides, breaking the tail and use it to pierce the skull, Dodge attacks, not allow himself to be caught by the tail use his elbows it redirect attacks.

It was strange that the newcomer was so afraid yet Superman was moving as if it didn't bother him at all.

That fear of the newcomer was justified a second later when Superman attempted to catch one by the tail and it broke off spilling green liquid all over him.

Superman flinched and cried out the green blue blood was corrosive as acid.

And he was even more terrified now.

He saw Superman use ice breath on himself and then crush the blood it and dust it off.

Then he use his heat vision which reflected off the bodies before proceeding to breaking their necks and spine the traditional way.

Their teeth broke against his skin, claws failed to stop him and their tails couldn't constrict him.

He was just strong.

Hank spoke into his radio.

" Evacuate everyone this is a situation that cannot be handled by by humans form a perimeter 2 miles behind your current location copy"

"Order received copy"

As he watched the alien reptiles thrash and fight he was glad yet worried, what would happen if the ones who defended them now decided to attack them later.

---

Clark was disturbed he had expected these creatures to show restraint or even fear yet they kept throwing themselves at him even after he killed most of them without even a sweat.

Sun was attacking them like a possessed man without stopping left right up and down he flew he ran he could guess how strong he was.

He was strong yet be overpowered by him and only him he was stronger than any Martians he met yet his suit which was made of some alien material that he could not determine was far more intriguing.

Ability to absorb radiation, an AI next to his ear, no smell, invisibility and that was all he could guess and his x-ray vision failed against his suit.

All he could do was to rely on his hearing. Which was something he had never done since school.

His eyes furrowed as he watched the boy he was sure of it.

The boy was getting tired.

His own strength had over the years fluctuating with more sunlight he was stronger yet with little or none his base strength was still enough to deal with all unexpected situations.

He wasn't worried yet he knew that the second his strength slipped further down he might bolt as usual but now he staying here.

As he observed him he saw the similarity to himself and doubted if he was Kryptonian.

Their powers were the same, his appearance was humanoid. Both had heat vision anyone else would have immediately confronted him yet he didn't.

He was afraid it wasn't like the situation of Kara where he was the first person to meet her and he could be a guide for someone who had never been here.

Here there was someone who had lived on Earth and had experienced this world on his own.

What he had seen?

What had he experienced?

What type of people he had met?

Was his attitude because of that?

Did he see him as a person?

Why the hesitation to meet him?

Was he worried what might happen to him if he was caught?

Why was he so weak compared to him?

There were too many questions in his mind.

And he needed to know….
