Chapter 27 - Venus

Venus

We had successfully stemmed the flow of aliens from the ship as a added precaution Superman had frozen the entire ship from top to bottom without missing a single inch while Martians had brought out other tech to analyze the ship whether they were the original inhabitants or it was an infestation that had overcome the ship's crew.

I wasn't sure now what was going to happen already Superman had flown towards the Sun to charge himself and then try to push it off as the weight had quadrupled during the time that they had been fighting.

The Martians were wary of me. Apart from my initial help I had left them to their own devices.

The military were still scrambling, the commander in chief had gotten enough idea from the video, audio devices that he had tentatively approved an nuclear strike once Superman and the military officers on ground had submitted their report.

Superman had stopped the order by saying that he might be able to push it back into space. Which had assured everyone for the time being.

And now I was here keeping an eye so that nothing goes in or comes out.

Earthlings were afterall not capable of fighting against it. Once Superman had told them about how it is possible for the creatures to use human hosts to reproduce everyone had been more than willing to get rid of it.

A phone rang in my house and the bot connected it to my suit.

" Dio. Where are you?"

" Sorry buddy. I'm currently not at home I can't make it to the volleyball court today."

" Dude we are playing for cash today with the St. Adam's school we need you man "

" it's not possible I have work. I can't make it there."

" Zack is saying that if you don't make it today you will have to come with us to the St. Stephen's for the inter school match next week"

" Tell him I am okay with that. I just can't be there today."

" Your loss St. Adam's volleyball team are complete amateurs they will not be able to win even one match out of three, if you are here they will not be able to make any points past 5"

" Stop exaggerating"

"Yeah yeah"

" Hey are you free this weekend?"

" Dunno why ?"

" Can we host a party at your place"

" Nope. Last time was bad enough you guys ran when my caseworker came and I had to help out with the cleaning"

" Dude this time it's only going to be the volleyball team I promise"

" Yeah what about last time you brought your sister and she took a marker and went nuts in the living room plus who brought the beer?"

" That was Zack he go it from his uncle Coby who was planning a party and he super mad he found that a six pack was missing"

" No drinks this time if you guys make a mess you all will help out"

"Sure buddy"

I ended the call.

"Sun" I heard Superman call me as I watched him descend from the sky his entire body glowing with a faint yellow layer.

The Martians too gathered around us.

" We don't have much time, you will pick it up from the left and the Martians on the right I will be pushing it from the center.

We have already cleared up most of the Kryptonite near the ship so it won't be much strain for us."

" Which direction to push it once we reach space we will be fighting against gravity here" I asked.

" Mars is off limits we can't foist our problems on the dominant species of that planet it can be considered as an act of aggression, Venus could be possible and I am slamming down all arguments for pushing it into the Sun. It too far and I am still unaware of what all is there inside"

" So Venus?"

" Venus"

" Okay. On the count of three"

" Three"

We all faced the ship.

" Two"

We all took our positions.

"One"

Superman dived underground with absolutely no resistance like a perfect dive in water executed on land with little or no disturbance.

I grabbed the ship on one end my fingers felt the cold metal and pulled.

My body began making cracking noises as my muscles strained and my breathing became hard.

Then suddenly the weight began decreasing as ship as large as a mountain began moving upwards.

I could see a few Martians going under the ship and helping as the ship began to rise up.

The underneath of the ship was filled with roots as black as charcoal and right in the middle was Superman pushing with all his might.

The roots were trying to entangle him but he was protecting himself with his heat vision burning the base roots were falling down.

We focused all our strength and after 40 minutes of fighting against the ship, gravity and some previously undiscovered Kryptonite among the roots we finally we outside the Earth's atmosphere.

The endless sky with the dazzling stars greeted us.

I heard Superman shout.

" Sun more pressure on your side we are still not done we need to get outside the lunar orbit"

I nodded.

As ship began tilting to one side and we proceeded to move further away from Earth.

"Superman we can't go further we are at our limit" The Martians spoke Superman nodded as they began flying down.

Now it was just me and him.

I kept an eye on the moon as we slowly but steadily kept pushing.

We could see the moon.

I stopped giving pressure.

" Sun don't leave, we can't allow it to crash on Venus's surface.

It will cause irreparable damage. We need to keep going until we are close enough to touch it."

" Alright"

It took us another hour thankfully it was boring but I noticed movement those xenos were aware of what was happening yet they weren't trying to get out preferably waiting for an opportunity.

Finally we dropped the giant ship on Venus and second we did. Xenos started pouring out of the ship once again running along the surface of Venus in search of prey not affected by the lack of Earth's atmosphere.

I looked at Superman as four times the amount of aliens roamed the surface of Venus screeching, yelling, biting.

A drop of sweat floated off my body into the air.

We had postponed a disaster but only future could tell that whether we did the right thing or not.
