Endless Adventure

New ship arrived to take all the 49 people to the next testing ground. This trip was shorter than the last one as it took 2 days to arrive to the new Island. When everyone boarded on an Island there was nothing except a big screen. Screen lighted up and showed a familiar face. He was an old man who was surprisingly fit and muscular for his age. He had a ponytail, a thick beard, and stretched earlobes with two piercings in both ears. This person of course was Hunter Association's 12th Chairman, Isaac Netero.

Netero stroking his beard started to say, "This is the fourth stage of Hunter Exam And is final before the finals. You now stand on a Tephis Island. This island is a natural maze created by the Mother Nature. Here live many poisonous creatures and tricky life forms. You have a simple objective and that is to pass this maze before the time limit runs out. You have a week to cross this maze and arrive at the place where the finals would be held. May the may the odds be ever in your favor." After saying those words screen turned all black and after few second a giant timer was showing how much time left.

I entered the maze without thinking and started to find a way to the finals. But before I entered the maze something felt odd about my clothes. I checked everything and found nothing strange about my clothes. I used Gyo in my eyes to see if someone planted something on my clothes and hid it using In. But my Gyo couldn't find anything. I brushed it off and started my search for the place where finals would be held.

Before coming to this island I absorbed the Aura of the two weakest red-billed qualea and left one to train itself. I used that red-billed qualea to scout from the air. Because of all the Nen training its eyesight improved and using Gyo was more effective on red-billed qualea.

When the red-billed qualea was flying over the maze it was struck by a needle. It was a small needle only 3 centimeters long and very thin. As the red-billed qualea was protected by the Ten, needle couldn't penetrate its feathers. I looked around and located an animal that looked like a porcupine or a hedgehog. It was most likely the one that shot the needle. I easily killed the creature and checked its needles. It was poisonous.

This maze is full of poisonous fruits and plants, so many animals that live here most likely have immunity towards a poison. I looked all over the place and found one more porcupine like creature. I wanted to see if there was difference between this rodent and the normal birds and animals that I could posses. I conjured up "Peeping Ghost" and made it posses that rodent. It went smoothly but I couldn't see any difference. But when I tried practicing Nen using its body I was shocked. It was far more easier to train with this rodent than any other small animal or bird I ever possessed before.

From what I saw I could draw two conclusions. First one is that porcupines are most talented animals in training Nen and that's why when I trained using it was more powerful. The other conclusion I came up was that because of the surroundings. As this porcupine lived and was born here he too was poisonous to the core. Making this place the best habitat for this creature. It's life energy was tied to this place and when training Nen here this porcupine has a natural advantage over other animals. So to try both those theories I went and found a poisonous snake I quickly posses it and started to train Nen. Like the porcupine it had insane speed of growth.

I was ecstatic and tried to find a poisonous bird to train. After few hours of looking I finally found a Hooded Pitohui bird. It could con produce a venom or poison from its body but acc.u.mulated a poison from eating poisonous insects and plants. I posses it and it had the same speed of training as the porcupine and snake.

When I controlled Hooded Pitohui to search for the place where finals had to be held. I saw something suspicious. Most of the other applications if not all were heading towards the same direction and that direction is my whereabouts.

I checked it not twice or thrice but more than five times and confirmed they were heading towards me. That's when I remembered that strange feeling about my clothes how I felt something wrong was about my clothing. It was a conspiracy a big conspiracy. I stoped walking and started to wait for them. This maze was interlocking and you could meet the same people more than dozens of times even if you went to different direction. That's why all the other applicants could find me even if they have a rough understanding of my position.

I waited hour and a half. After waiting that long they finally arrived other 48 contestants. I looked carefully at their faces to see if I remember any from the original series. After you pass the third stage of the exam you get a free spot for the next years exam. If I saw any familiar face from the anime I would let him leave only heavily injuring them ensuring that they could be in perfect condition after the year. Thanx god I found no familiar face and that means that they're gonna meet the creator very very soon.
